Very friendly and welcoming staff. The room was equipped with everything we needed and clean. Enought toilets in separate rooms! Kitchen looked nice, however we didn't use it. The building had a very fancy looking vintage (?) elevator. Nice high ceilings, light colors and large windows. Even a large common room with a TV.

The bathrooms were a bit dirty. There was just one room with a shower that you could lock (there were two showers, a toilet and a urinal in the bathroom, but one shower was broken) The other three showers were in a larger bathroom and only seperated by curtains. However, the accomodation is small, so we never had any problems because the "nice bathroom" was usually unoccupied. However, this is not uncommon for a hostel so we were fine with it!

I had a nice stay. Staff were friendly. Location is great well connected to city center. Room was very neat and clean, The bathroom and kitchen were clean. Room had a mini fridge too. It is in the central location so it is easy to commute to the nearby city sights. The main tourist attraction is just 15 mins walking from this place that was ver convienient. If u dont want to walk the bus stop is right there in front of this place. So it is well located.

As I had taken the shared bathroom, there might be bit of wait during peak time. But not much. Altogether if u plan properly this can be avoided. Also, walls are bit thin so night if people are noisy u can hear.

I like the building and entire apartment. Very good location, close to my point of interest. Due to the late flight I arrived around midnight. Clear instruction had been provided how to enter into residence and room was prepared. Shared facility were clean and available for use at any time. Room was simple but this was all I needed at that time as I was only sleeping there.

The receptionist was not always available but it was possible to contact by phone if anything urgent required.

The position of Valdemara residence is very good, just 10 minutes walking distance from the Old Town. The room was clean, very spacious and the beds were very comfortable. The woman at the reception was very helpful, friendly and responsive: the instructions we were given to access the building were easy and clear to follow.

Just few details: there was no soundproofing in the room (there's a busy street at the base of the residence) and the smell from people cooking in the kitchen was quite strong. For some people (italians like us especially) that can be awful. I'd recommend putting a door in order to separate kitchen from the other parts of the structure and so to prevent this issue.

The lady at the reception was amazing, very nice, comprehensive, and helpful. The building is absolutely gorgeous, and I mean stunning. The location is very nice and central, connected well to the rest of the city. The place was very clean upon arrival. The beds are also pretty comfortable.

The plumbing is a bit peculiar, as you can't flush toilet paper, I've never seen that before. Guests also dirtied the toilets pretty fast and there were not a lot of toilets per guest. The place is a little bit noisy but with earplugs it works out.

It was great, the room is clean and fresh, everything is in great condition. I was worried, that it won't be easy to find, because I couldn't find it on Google maps, but it's pretty visible as soon as you get to the street.

The bathroom might have been cleaner (at least without leftover shampoo bottles in the shower). Also, it's good to know, that the building is rather old, so you'll help everything, that's going on in the hostel.

The room was beautiful and huge. The building itself is very charming. Comfortable beds and everything was clean. Great location. Really an amazing value, and I'd definitely stay again!

Communication was difficult beforehand and it was a struggle to get a response from the property. It almost seemed as though they weren't receiving my messages over multiple days and via booking.com and WhatsApp in regards to our check-in time until around 3:00pm when I finally heard a response. After that, clear self check in instructions were sent to accommodate our late arrival.

Valdemara residence is close to the center and old town. Clean and comfy. Hotel location also easy to find and in the 3rd floor. They also have old elevator but works very well. You can come using bus 3 from bus station or railway station.

You need to share bathroom. If you want going to the bathroom/ shower around 8-9 am, you need to waiting for it. But, everything is fine 👍

My one night stay in Riga was especially magnificent thanks to this lovely hostel located in the heart of the city. It felt special from the very first moment as I opened the entrance door and dived into the magical atmosphere of the old building with the coloured glass window and helical stairs. The owner, a kind woman with heart-warming smile, welcomed me, showed me everything as well as just brightened my evening in overall. The room was clean. I was also positively surprised by the number of bathrooms. The shower room was spacious, with a locker. There was also a huge kitchen and a cozy room with a lot of board games. I chose this hostel to stay mostly because of the good price and great location. As a result, this place even exceeded my expectations! Recommend for sure

The place is near to the city centre, in a very beautiful secession-style building. The staff is friendly and communicative, and everything is nice and clean. The hangout room has plenty of board games, books, a tv, and sits, a great opportunity to get a little bit know the other guests. I liked the coffe corner by the window in the common kitchen.

It would have been easier to communicate of english, but as I told upper, that wasn't such a big problem.
