This lovely hotel in a fabulous location had such friendly staff from the people at reception to the guys at the bar were all so helpful and kind. Comfortable beds and great decor as well as a really clean and beautifully scented interior. The roof bar was fabulous with good wine at reasonable prices. We had never been to Malaga before, and the food recommendations given to us by the hotel were excellent and non touristy resulting in fab food at a super price. The location was just brilliant five minutes walk from train station but also close to shops. We really will be back.

The Mariposa hotel is simply fantastic. We were allowed to leave our luggage early while our rooms were being allocated. Absolutely beautiful room, fantastic bed and furniture. A super clean bathroom with the best shower and toiletries is standard . The hotel is absolutely spotless and a credit to the house team . Fantastic room service. Also the hotel has a very special roof terrace with lovely beds and complimentary towels. A very good value hotel and we’re all planning on coming back soon. One of the most beautiful buildings in Malaga with real plants installed for decoration. It’s a real pleasure to see. Also the art inside the lobby and breakfast room are fun and different. It’s a very aesthetic boutique hotel. What I love about this hotel is its location. It’s in a pedestrian only zone in the heart of Malaga, close to the harbour…. so you don’t get any traffic noise and sleep much better as a result. That was amazing and refreshingly quiet!

For a 4 star hotel with such magnificent art and aesthetics I personally found the breakfast selection to be of good quality but a little limited. They had fresh pastries every day, juice, some cereals, fruits, bread and some savoury items but it felt that despite the good quality the choice was more limited compared to other 4 star hotels where I’ve stayed. Also no shower facilities once you check out. In the summer heat, I know I like to shower before I catch my plane back home.

Everything was perfect. Hotel was beautiful - modern yet tasteful, well positioned to the centre of everything but just far enough out to be a little quieter at night. Staff were efficient and super friendly. Breakfast was wonderful - tons of choice, hot and cold, in a lovely dining room. As it was our first holiday abroad in several years because of the pandemic, I indulged myself and my daughter by having a junior suite - worth the bit extra - so lovely, comfy beds, fab bathroom, lounge area to enjoy a bit of downtime (and watch the UK news….huge smart tv with all the uk channels, plus option to link to Netflix and Prime if you want!). Hotel also had a terrace up on the roof which was great for a bit of sunbathing. No complaints at all - highly recommended.

Their professionalism and friendliness really set this hotel apart. The rooftop terrace was another highlight of my stay. It offers stunning views of the city, and it's a perfect spot to unwind with a drink after a day of sightseeing. The breakfast buffet was also excellent, with a wide variety of fresh and delicious options to start the day right. Overall, I highly recommend Mariposa Hotel to anyone visiting Málaga. It combines comfort, style, and outstanding service in a way that makes for a truly memorable stay. I can't wait to return on my next trip to this beautiful city!

Central area- convenient to shopping/ marina and main areas. Lovely rooms roomy and comfortablebed. Very clean and towels replaced daily. Very friendly reception staff- all very willing to help. Nothing too much trouble.

Room was too warm and had trouble regulating temperature. Server at breakfast was obviously annoyed when we arrived with 10 mins to go at breakfast. Rolled eyes when had to switch toaster back on. Was very rude. Roof top bar was not well stocked and seemed unprepared for custom in December.

We went on a holiday in Southern Spain with my family and we visited at least 5 hotels of which Mariposa hotel was our favorite. It is in the center of the city, walking distance to anything you need to see, with great communication to all other areas, with lots of places to eat around it. It is clean, easy to get to, there is a parking nearby and in the hotel if you are with a car, it is suitable for people with disability, and has amazing staff. Nikolas at the reception was incredible, super helpful and gave us great recommendations on what to visit and where to eat! The breakfast is also with good variety and many delicious foods to try and there is a rooftop bar with great cocktails as well. Just our favorite hotel and at a good price too, we will return there in the future for sure!

This is a very good hotel, close to the center of Malaga. It is on a nice pedestrian street, and the embellishment of the facade with plants and flowers (which was ongoing work while I stayed there) makes it very attractive. I arrived before ordinary check-in time, but was given a room at the top floor on arrival as it was already cleaned. Closing the window, the room was very quiet and provided a good night sleep. The breakfast is fine, with adequate options of warm and cold food. The rooftop terrace is a nice option if you are back at the hotel in time to enjoy it.

Nothing to complain about :-) The pastry in the breakfast selection could perhaps have been more fresh, like the pain au chocolat, and there could be more fruit options. But try the local / homemade cakes if you get the chance, they were very good.

Very expensive for one person and no breakfast included. Available for extra 12 euros. No other meals available. Room service/restaurant meals for lunch and dinner really needed as a long walk to go into city to get a snack especially if you don’t want to go out and dine formally. Drinks expensive at rooftop bar. Stairs are marble and those to first floor are black glass. Lethal! Can’t see clearly where they stop and start and if wet, well……!

We loved our junior suite, which provided a spacious sitting area. The room was clean and quiet. We visited in December, so the pedestrian street below was quiet. The staff were very friendly, and the location of the hotel is excellent: very close to the centre, restaurants, and shopping. We would happily choose this boutique hotel again. The rooftop bar was a lovely space to enjoy for a drink. Excellent and welcoming hotel.
