This was our sixth or seventh stay at Parkhotel Quellenhof. Quellenhof is a typical early 20th century "grand hotel" with impressive public spaces and very large rooms. It has recently been renovated whilst retaining the original features and classical character of the hotel. Although, I can imagine its old-fashioned and somewhat formal character is not to everyone's taste, we love it. I, however, like the grandeur and the comfort the hotel offers. The rooms are roomy, light and airy with huge beds and the corridors are long and metres wide. The hotel is located just outside the city centre with ample parking either in the underground garage of the hotel or the public parking next to it. The staff is courteous and friendly.

The quality of the breakfast - although not bad - could be improved. It is a huge hotel and this is reflected in the buffet style breakfast. There is ample choice but the food is not very refined and is more 3 stars than 5 stars. But still very enjoyable.

The room was clean and cosy, spacious and the bed was very comfortable, the bathroom was clean and well set out. There was a coffee maker and small fridge in the cupboard and plenty of space to hang clothes. We didn’t use the spa facilities or have breakfast, but the bar area looked cosy and inviting too. The hotel was decorated for Christmas and we looked forward to getting back to the warmth of the hotel after visiting the Christmas market just down the road. The staff was friendly and eager to help.

There is nothing we didn’t like about the hotel. The only possible improvements we noticed were trivial; a coat hook near the room door would have been helpful, and the heating in the room was a little overzealous, but I am sure that if we had asked for help in reducing the heating we would have been helped. We were sorry we were only staying one night!

This is an excellent hotel. Our room was clean and the bed comfortable and capacious. Staff ware very helpful and made us extremely welcome. The building retains the ambiance of its early 20th century origin but has been maintained to a high standard and provides the expected facilities of a modern hotel. Although our room at the front was facing a busy road, we heard no sound of traffic. We had dinner in the restaurant and our meals were excellent, as was the breakfast next morning. The hotel is conveniently placed to walk to the centre of Aachen which is about ten minutes away.

Nothing to dislike

Recently, I stayed at this hotel, and my experience was nothing but positive. The room was comfortable, the atmosphere cozy, and all the necessary amenities were provided. I would especially like to highlight the attitude of the staff, particularly Tabitha Heeren who was incredibly attentive and caring. She was very kind and always ready to help. One special moment was that I celebrated my birthday here. The hotel administration surprised me with a delicious pastry and a card with birthday wishes. It touched me deeply, and I truly felt cared for. Thank you so much for such warm hospitality! I will definitely come back and recommend this hotel to my friends and family.

Very nice and clean hotel, with facilities like spa, sauna etc. Staff was very polite and helpful. Breakfast was very good and generally I was very happy with my stay.

A minor aspect was the parking. Initially I thought that it is included but it is paid service (16 euros per day) and there is no reservation guarantee (so you may not find places for parking even if you book in advance with the stay e.g. if there is an event etc). However, the staff was helpful and refunded me for the parking not used (also there is alternative parking option close-by).

My family of four did not want to leave this beautiful hotel. In fact, we had intended to stay only one night to break up our long drive and upon arrival, and seeing the Junior Suite we had booked, we immediately arranged for an extra night. I'm so glad we did. The extensive, fresh and delicious breakfast was served on a gorgeous patio overlooking a garden and fountain. We were able to walk to the old town, take in all the sights, eat at delicious restaurants (highly recommend Karibik and Minh Chau), play nearby mini-golf and spend a relaxing few hours at Carolus Thermen. Aachen completely surprised and charmed our family, in part due to Parkhotel Quellenhof. If we are ever near this area again, we would love to return to this beautiful town and hotel!

We really enjoyed everything about this hotel.

The hotel is really nice, the entrance and the building are beautiful. The rooms are a bit old, they have been renovated, but for example we only had sockets on one side of the bed. But in general the bed was really comfortable and breakfast was good as well. I used the gym, which had newest technogym equipment, but I was lacking some more weights for a workout, towels and water were not in the room available, but only in the front where the Spa entrance is. The hotel is approx. 10 minutes located from the city center.

There was a coffee machine in the room, but no coffee capsules and also no water boiler and no tea. I think for the price per night this could be an add on to make the stay even better. Also, no complimentary water was on the room.

Everything perfect! Clean rooms, spacious as well. Friendly staff / personnel with high service level. Very good kitchen with their chef & cooks, because all meals were very delicious. We had dinner several times at Quellenhof cooked well with care and attention, for breakfast many options (cold & hot). Very cosy rooms, lobby and restaurant area. Normally we have a few topics to complain about when we stay in hotels, but this time during our stay at Quellenhof in Aachen (August 2024), we don't have anything to complain about. Superb! 😃👍🏼

Nothing bad

Classic room was large enough for 2 people. Coffee machine worked a treat. Breakfast was superb, plenty of variety to choose from. Fresh omelettes made to order were delicious. The common rooms are delightful, spacious and clean, very pleasant to sit in after breakfast with a coffee. Spa was lovely, never busy - not too sure about the naked sauna, but that’s a culture thing!

Very warm overnight, mostly not the fault of the hotel - it was 14 degrees outside…

- Easy parking underneath the hotel - which you just pay for at the end of your stay - A grand, beautiful building in a great location - Extremely comfortable bed and pillows - we slept very, very well. - Helpful front-desk staff - Spa access included in room price (Unfortunately, we didn't have time to use any of the Spa facilities during our stay) - Very nice breakfast included in room price, in a beautiful, light Bistro - Very generous-sized room for the price. We stayed in the Comfort Double Room and I expected it to be much more basic; but the room and bathroom were absolutely beautiful and very large - Convenient location for walking into Aachen centre - Our room looked out into woodland, so was very private - Don't miss visiting Aachener Dom the Cathedral commissioned by Charlemagne, where he is also buried. This is a stunning place to visit and only a 15 minute walk from the hotel.

- I understand that this does not apply to every guest, but it would have been great to have a few more veggie/vegan breakfast options besides fruit and bread
