Fantastic staff. Excellent breakfast (the fruit bowl with natural yogurt was exceptionally good). Great location (in the heart of the old town and yet super quiet). Spacious room. Basic but very good (and well priced) mini-bar. We have been to lots of hotels in Santiago over the years and the San Miguel remains our favourite one, by far.

They only have one room with a double bed, so we almost always end up in a room with twin beds placed together, which is not ideal when traveling as a couple; and for some reason the beds move forward if you sit against the back to the bed when trying to read a book in bed, which is quite annoying. The bed legs might be quite slippery.

The Location is superb as it is in the old town where you are luck if you can stay there. The rooms are nice and spacious and cleanliness was top notch. The staff are friendly and very accommodating to ones needs. The other areas in the hotel are clean, accommodating and just feels good to be there.

I have stayed there previously and one of the things that brought me back was the superb continental breakfast except this time it was not. Previously there was fresh fruit (strawberries, raspberries) available and this time there was not. Previously there was mini pastries available (croissants and pain-aux-chocolat) and this time there was not. The breakfast this stay was just average and mediocre.

The room was exceptional - within the bedroom, there was a sectioned off area with a couch and comfortable chairs and table overlooking the back of the hotel - where there was a very peaceful patio area. The room didn't have tea/coffee, but this was made for us downstairs and we took it outside to drink. You are in the heart of the city, and even in the midst of the summer, we were cool in our room and undisturbed by any noise. The hotel staff could not have been more welcoming or helpful to maximise advise on our visit to Compostela. An absolutely fantastic stay.

The hotel was in a perfect location close to all the sights. Our room was clean with comfortable beds and had a nice sized bathroom with toiletries. There was a stocked mini fridge and a large balcony door with a view to the front entrance courtyard. On our floor we had a beautifully furnished common living room with access to the terrace garden. Breakfast was pricey so we did not eat there but just in front of the hotel there is a little cafe that serves up the best coffee and wonderful little breakfast. Great place,would definitely recommend.

The room had an amazing view to a small, quiet plaza. The room was quiet, comfortable and cozy. The design of the bathroom was clever and meant it had natural light and didn't take too much space. The enclosed balcony was beautiful and I would had spent a lot of time sitting there enjoying the view if there wasn't so much to do in Santiago. I would suggest to have a kettle in the bedroom, for an early cup of tea or coffee in the morning. I know it isn't an expectation in Spanish hotels, so not an issue.

Lovely hotel in quiet historic location. Room was extremely comfortable and thought their practice of using "rags/old towels" to remove makeup, dirt, etc, was a brilliant idea, especially for those of us who were doing the Camino and were dusty etc.

We tried to get breakfast without reserving the day before and were told it was not possible as they would have had to order the bread. The breakfast consisted of yoghurt, pastries, bread, cheese, tea, coffee, all of which we noted were clearly still in plentiful supply as we checked out. This we found to be quite ridiculous!

Location at the top of the old town was perfect Great cafe just outside hotel and a fab bar Atlantico just round the corner Room was spacious and clean Staff friendly and efficient

We would have liked 1 English speaking channel on the TV ..if only to keep up with the news We could hear people in the next room and above us Perhaps we should have requested a higher floor

Everything from the first steps into the hotel was exceptional. Luisa and Christina were very helpful, hospitable and friendly. We had a Superior room with a lovely view of the back terrace area. Clean, very comfortable and the value for money was above expectations. A heartfelt 'Thank You' to the staff for making our time in Santiago de Compostela special. Looking forward to coming back.

If you’re heading to Santiago de Compostela, especially if you’re meeting some pilgrims at the end of their journey, this is the perfect place. The staff is AMAZING (we ❤️ Christina). The rooms are sweet (get the one with the table in the balcony on floor 3 or the 5th floor treehouse). And the common spaces are perfect for groups to gather.

You’ll have to park offsite in a covered parking lot that’s 14Euro a night, but it’s not a far walk to the hotel, and it was easy to manage. Do let the hotel staff know you’re driving ahead of time so they can give you instructions.

The hotel is in an ideal location in the heart of the city near the Cathedral. Our room was clean comfortable and very large with a bay window sitting area. Beds are very comfortable and the bathroom large too. Staff were friendly and helpful - letting us leave our luggage before we even checked in. They also helped us secure a very early taxi to the airport. The breakfast is wonderful with an assortment of breads, yogurt, cheese, ham and lovely tarta de Santiago.

We had no complaints and would love to stay here again!
