The location is fantastic: in the old part of town, within a short walking distance from the Central Market and the Cathedral. The attic room we booked was excellent: relatively large, with plenty of light, and a very comfortable bed. The sound-proofing was excellent, particularly considering that the street where the hotel is located has quite a lively and loud nightlife. The staff was super helpful and welcoming. The breakfast options were excellent and well priced.

I struggled with wi-fi at times (as I did last time I was there back in 2017). The windows were hard to open (we gave up trying to avoid the risk of damage) so we couldn't get any natural ventilation in the room, which made the room a bit stuffy. The lack of instructions on how to use the spa bath made for a very frustrating trial and error approach until we managed to make it work. The sense that maintenance is not a priority gives the impression of a once exceptional hotel gradually losing its sparkle. Still, this is one of the best hotels in the old quarter of Santiago de Compostela.

Very central location, around a 5-8 minute walk to the Cathedral. Welcoming and friendly staff, always ready to help out. Room was very clean and well functioning. I particularly enjoyed the enclosed private balcony~ it was nice to sit there on a rainy day.

I would have liked an electric kettle in my room. It wasn't so much a problem for me, but just to be aware that reception is not 24/7 and there is no phone in the room. Also, I could often hear those above me or in neighbouring rooms so I used ear plugs at night.

This is a beautiful little hotel at the border of the old and new town, right where pilgrims walk past as they complete or continue their caminos. There is a laundromat 30 seconds away and food is also that close. My accommodation on the top floor was bright and airy, with a spa tub, hair dryer, giant TV, sitting and desk area. If you get a top floor room, BE CAREFUL - the ceilings are angled and low, so bumping your head is almost guaranteed. This room had 3-4 skylights which opened for air flow and great views, plus an air conditioner (that I didn't need to use in early Oct of 2024). I loved the room so much though, I booked an additional night. In case it help when viewing the photos, my room was 41.

It was raining a lot so my towel was always wet. I would have appreciated an additional or a dry towel. In the interest of full disclosure, I bet I could have gotten one if I'd asked! Also, there are towel warmers in the bathroom!!

The room was well presented and a good standard, very clean and was well equipped (smart TV, power shower, AC etc). The staff were very friendly and helpful, helping us book a taxi and taking care of our luggage etc.

A minor issue and this wouldn't put me off staying there again, the room had an old balcony area converted to be part of the room, but it had an odd set of double doors which meant you couldn't close the doors properly during the day if you wanted sunlight but some privacy. The doors had to stay ajar which meant the room became a bit cramped when walking around the bed - basically the door set up is poorly designed.

This hotel is top level in all categories. Nothing even remotely negative can be said. The staff is friendly. Welcoming, and extraordinarily helpful. Makes one feel like a guest, more than just a customer. The location is excellent - literally four great restaurants within 5 minutes. 10 minute walk to the Cathedral plaza. The room was very luxurious, quiet. And had excellent temperature control. The breakfast was also excellent. With a wide range of offerings. Wonderful fresh squeezed orange juice.

I liked everything about the Casa Reais.1

The location - only a five minute walk from the cathedral. Loads of restaurants and coffee shops outside the front door. Although it is centrally located it was very peaceful at night / no street noise . The staff were super helpful and efficient. I have a specific dietary restriction and at breakfast they could not do enough for me - really appreciated their efforts.

Only one challenge and that was NOT with the property but with the Booking mobile app. The mobile app gave me an incorrect address for the property. Same street but an address number that did not exist. Luckily for a staff member from the hotel saw me wandering up and down the street looking for the hotel and came out to ask if they could help me. The Booking.com mobile app game the address as # 40 . This address is directly opposite the entrance of the hotel. Very confusing and annoying.

Well located, excellent staff and super polite. Housekeeping done an amazing job every day too. Staff went above and beyond with special request. Room was immaculate, great air conditioning, large spa bath for 2 people. Cute little toiletries also. Mini fridge was great and well stocked and super cold. The car parking card they offer is reasonably priced and life saver. Located in an excellent position in the city too with a short walk to all attractions. Can’t recommend this place enough. The chefs also deserve a mention as nothing is too much for them. Thank you for an amazing stay ❤️🫶

A really great experience for us. Prior to arrival Virginia was fabulous with communicating via messages regarding our arrival time We arrived early for check in but we were able to change and leave bags - she spent a good amount of time welcoming us and informing us of everything we needed to know regarding the hotel and also the town of Santiago. She also made some fabulous restaurant recommendations... we made it to 2 out of the 3 and wasn't left disappointed. The room was very clean and comfortable. A great addition was the massage chair on the balcony in our room - great little treat to wind down at the end of the day. Great little additions found - such as the music system in the bathroom.and main room that you could switch on rather than the TV. Housekeeping were very good as well each day. Breakfast was basic continental but enough options to leave you ready for the day. Bread was very fresh and collected from the bakery across the street. Check out was smooth and bags were stored for us as we had a late departure. Able to come back and change etc before leaving. Again, Virginia booked us a taxi to get us to the airport which arrived in good time and was also a decent price.

Can't really fault our stay to be honest... very happy with everything

Fantastic staff, a very clean and luxurious room with amazing amenities in an ideal location! The floor space was a bit smaller than expected, but it wasn't any problem for us and the balcony space was very cool and a nice feature of the room. The TV was huge and made movie night great, and the bed was so comfortable. Would highly recommend and we'll be coming back ourselves in the future!

The air conditioning didn't work (may have been the remote) but we were staying just one night so the ventilation with the windows was sufficient enough.

room was ver comfortable with excellent facilities only missing coffee machine. there was lots of lovely toiletries left for our stay. The staff were absolutely brilliant couldn't have been more helpful. The breakfast they will make you what you like and has a good selection to it. This hotel is actually on the Camino path so perfect for anyone completing it. we rested here and then took the short walk to the cathedral the next morning to complete our journey. less than 5 minutes walk to everything in the cultural area
