The hotel itself is lovely. It had a nice upmarket feel about it, it was clean, very professional and the service was excellent. It felt a little like a tropical paradise inside with lots of plants and running water.

The worst thing about the stay was that the bedroom was very hot and stuffy. It had one very tiny window but it didn't have any sort of privacy screen and it opened into a public corridor so we couldn't have it open very much. Even with the window open there was no air flow to cool the room. The room did have air conditioning which worked very well, but it was also very noisy at night. It meant that the room quickly becaume very warm and uncomfortable. There are loads of different rooms, many of which had big windows with curtains for privacy, so its worth checking that out before booking if possible.

Lovely property, just a few minutes walk from the centre of town. Large room with lots of character. No aircon, but the fan was sufficient due to the high ceiling. Good breakfast choice. Parking was opposite and free.

A few minor details like the door bolt was broken, the tissues had run out and weren’t replaced despite requesting. They had a point of saying that we would be charged if the towels were stained.

From the moment you arrive with the gladiolis  in the Moet & Chandon bottles in the lovely reception to my room this hotel is quite stunning. It is.an excellent location with shopping, parks, churches, museums, palaces, cafes & restaurants very close by. All the staff are wonderful and extremely helpful and friendly. And the food is just delicious. Totally spoil yourself here with their spa packages. I wish to highly recommend El Sueno Hotel and Spa. 10 out 10.

Great location, very near the Zocalo. Lovely atmosphere. The staff were all wonderful -- friendly, helpful, charming. I liked them all.

There was no comfortable chair in my room and the lighting was not good. Also, the room needed to be freshened up and given some TLC. For example, the shower door wouldn't close, there weren't enough electrical outlets, the light switch by the door didn't work so I had to grope around in the dark to find a light when I entered the room at night.

Beautiful small hotel with full restaurant service, ideally located 3 blocks from the zacalo. Staff were very helpful and some spoke English. Included breakfast included fruit, juice, coffee and rolls, although a full breakfast was also an option.

Very few outlets in room to plug in electronics. Had to unplug a lamp to free an outlet.

Very comfortable hotel with attentive staff. The restaurant and bar are both good, there was a bath in the room with very hot water, internet is strong, pets are allowed and accommodated for very well. It's in a central but quiet part of town, great for relaxing and seeing the sights.

The room was a little dark and the decor a little out of date, but neither was an issue. Dark rooms are just a feature of old Mexican buildings sometimes, and we slept extremely well partially because it wasn't bright.

Good location, Clean, Cute hotel, Nice ambience with water features and plants giving a relaxing tropical feel. Friendly staff. Excellent breakfast and restaurant- very good service and accommodation of dietary restrictions.

This place is a bit overrated due to favorable mentions in blogs including NYTimes. Quriky layout of the hotel makes it a little clumsy to get around, esp if your room is upstairs. Double-side keyed door lock not safe and wouldn't pass code. They need to invest in key-card access locks. No coffee maker in room. A/C remote batteries were loose, hard to make it work. Pool, sauna, and jacuzzi seemed kind of lame (though we didn't plan to use them so it didn't bother us).

The breakfast (included) was delicious with a lot of options. The service was always friendly and accommodating, the bed was comfortable, the shower and spa products were a delight. Also, the location was great - quiet and only a couple of blocks from the zócalo.

The room was a bit dark, but that's really the only negative.

Really loved my stay at this hotel. Everything is accessible. The service from everyone at this hotel is second to none. The only small issue would be the internet connection but there was a solution found immediately. Things that are important to me made my stay memorable here, I was in the heart of city center, enjoy my long walks every day, the breakfast had several options for the week I was there, the water pressure in the shower was perfect. Would definitely consider staying here again!

Internet Connection

A very friendly and helpful staff. They were bilingual and could communicate in English which was a big plus for us, as we cannot speak Spanish. They organised the coffee machine in the room on our request. A miscommunication resulted in getting a wrong food in the resturant and they did not charge us for that. It was a great gesture from them.
