From the moment we walked through the pub door we were pleased with everything. The pub was warm and friendly, our courtyard room (number 12) was clean, tidy, comfortable and had everything needed for an overnight stay. There is a coffee machine, water and biscuits and a kettle and milk on request. The bed was very comfy, we both had a good nights sleep. Breakfast was outstanding. There is cereal, fruit, yogurt, croissants and a hot breakfast cooked to order. The food was all high quality and tasty.. I had the vegetarian full English, the soft poached eggs had orange yolks which were yummy… the best I’ve had in years! My husband had the normal full English and he enjoyed that too. The jams were homemade and absolutely delicious. Free parking a few minutes walk away. Easy walking distance to the Castle and the small town centre.

Staff were excellent and did everything they could to ensure a comfortable stay for us. Nothing was a problem for them. The room was exceptionally clean, nice and warm and well furnished. Piping hot water in the very modern ‘wet room’ type bathroom. The breakfasts were appetising with various options on offer. First morning I had the salmon and scrambled eggs which was delicious! Everything was freshly cooked to order with plenty of other breakfast items available. We ate in the restaurant for our three night stay and the evening menu was unusual and just as delicious as the breakfasts! This hotel is ideally located on the edge of town in a quiet residential area, (with parking just a very short distance away at the nearby racecourse car park) and within easy walking distance to the town. All in all I would thoroughly recommend this hotel to anyone who likes good quality and great hospitality!! Well done Old Fourpenny Shop Hotel and thank you Gabriella for the delicious cake on my birthday what a surprise and treat, thank you 🙏 !! 😃

Our room number 7: rated 9/10 Although our room was spotlessly clean and beautifully decorated it could have got 10/10 from us for our three night stay with the addition of a small wardrobe or a rail to hang our clothes.

The room, number 9 was decorated and cleaned to a very high standard. Dinner was superb. I had the bourbon beef rib, mustard mash and coleslaw, which was well cooked, delectable and memorable. The sticky toffee pudding which followed it went really well. It was great to see the real ale taken seriously and so many locals appreciating the place. All the staff whom I had interactions with, from cleaning, housekeeping, bar and kitchen were extremely friendly and helpful. Free parking, allowed before check in, was greatly appreciated. Really nice beer garden with loads of seating and covered areas. Breakfast was as good as that served at a very high end hotel.

The door to the en suite bathroom in room 9 needs the hinges tightening or the door needs rehanging. Due to the above, the door needs a heave to in order to close, and the painted doorframe is chipped. This was the only thing which my daughter and I didn't like.

Wonderful stay. The location is peaceful but just off the high street and close to everything. Loved the welcome, cleanliness, beautifully upholstered furnishings, outdoor area, restaurant service., comfy beds and bottles of water in the room. We arrived early and asked about parking and were able to check in as room was ready. Could park in front for 2 hours to drop if bags and book in. Private free parking at the racecourse just across the road.

Would like teabags available as well as the coffee and chocolate pods please. Were offered, when I asked, plus a kettle. Room was very warm so we just turned radiator down.

Very nice pub with lovely rooms, some of which are alongside the pub courtyard. There are tables and chairs outside each room here for smokers, and they are screened off. There was quite a rowdy party of people in the garden, but they left about 9/9.30 so did not really disturb me. Dinner was lovely, service was quite slow, but the pub made amends for that, and breakfast was very good too. there is a fridge, coffee maker and water provided in the rooms. The pub is pretty central, about a 12 minute walk from the castle

There is on street parking which is fine overnight, but has daytime restrictions.

Comfortable, clean and lovely smelling rooms. About a 15-20 minute walk to the station and 5-10 minutes into town. The breakfast was delicious with a varied menu. We also ate dinner here which was equally tasty and of reasonable value. The staff were all very friendly and welcoming.

Parking is not behind the hotel as stated in a review. It is down the road at the race course (couple of minutes). I was given a parking pass but still received a parking ticket! (Did not park at the bread and loaf ). I booked the hotel because it sounded like parking was just behind the hotel, so not great if mobility problems. There was no in street parking available at the time of booking in.

Lovely pub/restaurant as soon as you walk through the door. Staff very helpful as we arrived early to go around Warwick centre. Arrived back after official check in, stunning courtyard rooms, immaculate overlooking a beautiful beer garden. Unfortunately it was heavy rain that day hence was unable to use this lovely area. Loved that we had our own table and chairs outside of the courtyard room. Room beautiful, clean, spacious. We also had evening meal which was delicious and breakfast which was equally delicious. Liked the arrangement with parking at the race course however unsure how this would work on race course day. Very convenient to town, only 5 mins walk away or so. We stay in a lot of overnight hotels I would put this up amongst one of the best.

Little to comment on here as everything was so good. The service charge of £17.00 automatically applied to our evening meal. We would have automatically left a tip for the service we received however this should always be at our discretion. Our evening meal with drinks was a few pounds under £200. We did not notice the service charge until after payment of the bill as it was well towards the end of the night ( 4 adults).0 The coffee pod machine could perhaps have instructions as I figured it out however the other couple did not. This is for constructive feedback only.

The location was ideal for a walk into Warwick, the pub was nicely decorated and the room was ideal.Coffee and tea pods in the room with bottled water. The bathroom was spacious with a large corner bath and complimentary toiletries. The breakfast had a large selection of fresh fruit, yoghurt, croissants.Homemade Marmalade which my husband loved. A great selection of cooked options ,full English, full vegetarian English but also Various Egg options ,Benedict,Florence, and Hollondaise.Service was very quick and very efficient, staff were welcoming and available when needed.Parking was nearby at The Racecourse, parking on the road outside the pub was limited to 2 hrs.You are able to leave your luggage at Reception from 8am and you will be given a pass to enter the Racecourse and park.We will definitely return here on our next visit to Warwick.

The only thing about our room was that it was too hot. The window opens slightly but doesn't provide a throughput of air.Had it not been the middle of the night when we noticed it was so hot we would have requested a fan. There had been a recent cold spell so the temperature had been turned up by the management, I was told at breakfast.

Cleanliness is vital, it was. Friendly staff particularly the cleaning staff early morning. The food was well presented and tasty. The venue was convenient for Warwick Castle (if you go look out for the Falconry and Jousting which was exceptional)

The Tapas menu was very nice with good choices however the garlic bread could have had more garlic and the patatas bravas could be more brave. The parking instructions are out of date.

Quaint pub/hotel within close proximity to Warwick town centre & Warwick Castle. Parking nearby and free with permit from the hotel. Breakfast choice excellent and cooked breakfast was top notch with delicious eggs, bacon and sausage. Home made granola very good too. We had a meal in the restaurant during our stay and it was extremely tasty and again all freshly prepared.

No kettle or teabags in the room but available on request. Not enough milk sachets On arrival the staff could have been more welcoming.
