What a find!! In such a beautiful location too. We had a warm welcome and entering the room with key pad explained well, the room was a little bijou but perfectly formed. The decor was so pretty and great comfortable beds and pillows, such a bonus when traveling. It was very well equipped with a great coffee machine, plenty of milk, tea bags etc. The shower room was again small but lovely, great shower, fluffy towels toiletries great smelling. Enough hanging space and storage for a couple of days, on the tight side if staying longer. The bar and restaurant down stairs were delightful good pizzas, good service too. Although a restaurant below our bedroom we were not disturbed by any noise. Would definitely stay again !!

The only small negative is there is no outside parking, which they cannot change. Parked outside to off load the suitcase and husband then parked a three minute walk away in the car park. Which in the scheme of things is no game changer.

We had such an amazing stay at The Hive at Poppi-Red! The room was beautiful, really nicely decorated and felt so homely. Everything was very clean, and the bed was really comfy. Our dog absolutely loved it as well, it was his first holiday and he was so comfortable which says a lot about the accommodation! There was a great coffee machine and tea making facilities in the room. The bathroom was quite small but perfectly clean with a lovely shower. The check in/out process is so easy and the access to your room is very private, we actually didn’t have any contact with the staff at all but there were just downstairs in the cafe/bar if we needed anything :)

The only downside was no air con as it was very warm weather when we were staying! However I wouldn’t really expect air con in a smaller hotel/B&B so it’s not a complaint just something to be aware of for the summer months!

The breakfast was great as was the evening meal. 6. Location to explore foot or car other areas around the Lakes. 7. A sweet little place, both Poppi-Red and the village.

1. It said "room with a mountain view" but all I could see was the shabby back yard 🤣. So be mindful as Cubby Tarn does not have such a view. 2. £9 for a glass of red!

Staff were all very helpful. Breakfast was superb all three days. Evening meal was fabulous. Room was cosy, we struggled to find a place for our luggage. Bed was comfortable and the shower was powerful.

The room service was sporadic, 1st day bed was tidied but not made. Bins weren't emptied. Coffee pods weren't replenished. 2nd day bed made, bins not emptied, coffee replenished. 3rd day bed made, bins not emptied and refreshments not replenished. The mugs weren't washed or changed at all during our stay. Not really a problem but if the room isn't going to be properly serviced I'd rather staff didn't come into the room

Beautiful hotel with great facilities and also dog friendly. Food was great and check in was easy. The village is also really nice. Nice to have a coffee maker in the room to.

The guy that checked me in asked for my booking details and then proceeded to take my phone out my hand and scroll through my personal emails without asking. I was pretty shocked. His entire demeanor from showing me to my room and asking me if I wanted dinner was miserable and dismissive. I tried to be friendly but it made me feel like there was something personaly about me he didn't like. The only thorn in an otherwise perfect stay.

Fabulous location, food was really lovely. Everyone enjoyed their evening meals and breakfasts. The room was cosy and tastefully decorated. Bed was comfortable too and there was a fridge with water and a coffee and tea area set up. We had the grizedale suite although it definitely wasn’t a suite in the normal sense, it was just a room. A suite would imply it was larger and had a separate sitting area or lounge space. It was a bit tight at the bottom of the bed getting past and It did have a small sofa off to the side but again not a suite so that was slightly misleading as we expected a bigger room. It was still lovely though.

We booked this room as it had a roll top free standing bath but it was rather small and half under an eve in the ceiling, so I was too worried I’d hit my head getting in and out so didn’t use it, so that was a shame. Nice big shower though.

Young lad with a ponytail checked me in showd me to my room and later sorted me out with some food which was very much needed after a long days hiking. I sat watching him 'people watching' coach two other younger colleagues who were not so experienced, it was nice to see the young lad had good customer relationships/ banter with customers something which can often be missed. Price is great value for money over all.

Great value for money but although the food was fantastic 👌 and the pizza was reasonably priced I think at the time the new burger £18 wasn't a great idea for a new menu, little cheaper people will try the new stuff, folk are creatures of habit. was I little loud at point with people closing doors but tbh for the price and what you get it's honestly brilliant. hopefully the manager sees this and gives recognition to the young guy with the ponytail ans gets a decent Christmas bonus. thanks for having me. @the_wondering_highlander

Completely exceeded our expectations! The most beautiful room, sheer luxury and comfort. Staff were so welcoming and helpful, check in and check out were simple. Location is great, 30 second walk to pubs, restaurants and shops. Lovely little village with gorgeous scenery. We will be back!

Telly didn't quite work properly, couldn't seem to get a signal on most of the already very limited channels. We brought our firestick but WiFi didn't reach so were unable to use it. Not a huge deal as we were only there for one night but if staying longer, it would have been nice to be able to maybe watch a movie etc. WiFi maybe just needs a bit of a boost in the room. In addition, the heating in the lounge didn't seem to come on even after adjusting the controls however, bathroom was roasting and bedroom was warm so it never felt completely cold.

Central property. I was worried about a dog friendly room as our dog doesn’t mault but was prepared for dog hairs on furniture etc from previous occupants. you’d never even know dogs even stayed here, the rooms are so clean. The bath was amazing! We loved it so much here we stayed an extra night. We had to move rooms but both female staff bent over backwards to ensure our new room was ready as quickly as possible and even moved our luggage for us.

Breakfast was a set price of £15 per person but there wasn’t a kid’s price so I didn’t book it as my daughter only wanted a piece of toast. When I said this the staff said ‘well I don’t think we would charge £15 if that’s all she wanted’ but he never gave an actual solution to whether I could have it or if the whole party had to have it, or what the toast price would be. Was a bit awkward waiting for his response so we just ordered from a different menu. Food was tasty though!

Stayed elsewhere this week, that was TRIPPLE the price of 'The Hive' Yet this place was better. Excellent value for money. Here we had a Clean Room Very spacious and comfortable. Huge bathroom suite. Fantastic location everything so conveniently close. Staff friendly and helpful. The self access and late check in/out options are a bonus. Decor quirky but wholesome. Food and drink delicious. Honestly love staying here.

(choose to overlook these slight issues considering how great everything else is.) Horrendous stagnant water smell at back entrance of the building, so no fault with the room accommodation itself. This however is accompanied by a very slippery path caused by said issue. Bit of a safety/maintenance issue really considering this is frequently used by guests to access the rooms. Dusty bedroom.
