The beautiful beach

Arrived early. The front desk watched our luggage as we grabbed lunch. I had my Apple charger and AirPods and another charger stolen. Should have kept my luggage with me!

the staff was very nice - maid service very good - outdoor cocktail service very good - place has a charming set up that is very nice. Beach lovely -

food was good but not great - place needs some maintenance The water pools in the hotel were not filled and that looked unsightly - there are some areas that could use some improved landscaping. the restaurant could use a better option for takeout - it takes too too long ! some of the restauarnt staff was incredible and others were sort of solemn and did not seem happy. The christmas dinner at the restaurant was $150 pp and it was not nearly worth the cost. A dinner of that caliber should have been no more than $75 pp. It was a huge rip-off and it was not very good food . That was a big disappointment. During peak holiday they ran out of umbrellas

We stayed at the Bougainvillea for 11 nights and had a great time. The rooms were well appointed, comfortable and clean. Our room had a kitchenette which included a fridge/freezer, sink and cooker, as well as a toaster and coffee maker, which all worked perfectly. We loved the fact there were were three pools and that it was a 2 minute walk from our room to the beach, where there were plenty of beach loungers. The sea is wavey here (but was not too rough) it is not the placid waters of Carlisle Bay. However, it is very pretty, clean and the sand is almost white. The staff we met were very friendly and kind, and we enjoyed a few Happy Hour drinks and Manager's cocktail hour, which was fun. I was traveling with my wife and 5 month old baby and was a little concerned about how it would all work, but it was perfect. We were able to get a crib and highchair in the room and everyone was really helpful. Overall we had a wonderful time and wanted to stay longer!

There were only a few minor things to mention: - Unfortunately when we were there the beach and water had quite a bit of seaweed, which was not great for swimming. There was only one day when it was really clear. This is not the hotel's fault but it was not ideal. - Our room had an adjoining door and we could hear quite a lot in the other room (and I am sure they could hear our baby crying at times too). - The food at Calabash was really tasty but the portions are not huge and it is expensive.

A lovely beach location, but taxis required to get to other restaurants in St Lawrence Gap or beyond. The rooms were spacious and comfortable. Breakfast was disappointing due to limited choice.

STAFF was absolutely wonderful! They were always cleaning: beach chairs, floors, etc Gift Shop and ladies working there, were great! Loved the nightly entertainment, vendors, complimentary chair massage and Happy Hour!! Our Room was decorated with Balloons and Wine for our 40th Anniversary! Thank you

Restaurant Service at Breakfast was very slow. My husband waited over 15 to get boiled water for tea. I wanted to enjoy the Spa, but the person who provided the Service I wanted was not working that day. Please Service LONGER Breakfast and Lunch times. There was an “All Day Menu” instead of Lunch. Thanks

. Location . Room and View . Mattress and Pillows . The "feel" of the place . Friendliness of the staff. We want to mention the people who went the extra mile for our stay to be unforgettable: Natasha should be a Manager because of her pristine Customer Service and attention to detail. She was always very polite and ready to help. The hotel would not be the same without her. She's a shining star. Joy is a joy! Always so joyful and her personal touches with the flowers and her attention to detail should make her a Cleaning Supervisor. A big shout out to the rest of the team, especially Winston, who helped us with our luggage and all the others for making us feel like a part of the family. Last, but not least, a especial mention for Levere, our Tour Guide and Driver. Exploring the island would not have been the same without him showing us what makes Barbados so especial. A big thank you to you all. We surely will be back!

1. 100% cotton sheets would have been much better than 60% cotton and 40% polyester. 2. On our arrival, 26th of April, around 4pm, one of the team members in the reception told us, according to her, that we should not have been there for quarantine purposes. That made us feel uncomfortable and unwelcome on arrival, after such a long journey. 3. Whilst in quarantine, I ordered the Catch of Day from Room Service and was disappointed with the quality of the fish because it was not freshly caught. Also, it was in batter, which was not explained either on the menu or when ordering.

The clean room we had, clean beach and well maintained pool.

Small option of drinks, hot or cold.

Beautiful decor and landscaping. I feel asleep and woke up to the sounds of the ocean. Took a long walk on the beach. Also spent some time on the Deia beach section.

I was okay with this but for others there are no elevators available to get to your room. Got my steps in going up the stairs to get to my fourth floor room on the top level. To accommodate for accessibilities, you may want to request the lower level if stairs will be an issue.

The property is lovely and the facilities are generally very good. The pool is nice, but nothing special. I appreciate that they have a separate kids' pool. We enjoyed one dinner and one lunch at the restaurant. They have very tasty food that is fresh, but the service is super slow, so be prepared. The prices are fair. We went to the gym twice. Some of the equipment is old, but most of it is just fine. It's in the basement and smells a little funny. We enjoyed the quiet a lot. You need to be prepared to walk a bit to get most places (including the bus stop). Or rent a car or take a cab (expensive).

The gym could have been a bit better.

Having an on-site restaurant was nice, and their weekend brunch was particularly good. There was always a taxi waiting out in front of the hotel if we needed it, and we were able to walk to the bus stop a few blocks away. We found public transportation very easy to figure out. The resort is located on a calm and fairly secluded stretch of beach, has plenty of beach chairs available, and I appreciated that there was a separate pool for children and adults. Our room was comfortable, with good A/C and a nice view.

Service at the pool bar however, was very slow, even when not crowded. There was no such thing as popping down for a "quick drink", which I get the point of coming on vacation to not be in a rush, but sometimes we had places to be. Occasionally, some of the staff seemed less than happy to be there, but most staff were wonderful.
