The breakfast & the breakfast room were great. The views of the river were lovely Not having to wrestle with traffic in town was welcome (it's right by the Park & Ride). The room was on the small side but fine, stylish witha good shower room.

A minor quibble: it was a hot day & night in August. We had the window open for a cooling breeze/air but there was a constant humming noise like an extractor that spoiled our sleep. I enquired next morning & was told it was probably the cooling extractor for the cellar. In such a 'rural' location on the edge of town that was a disappointment & the owners might look at ways to reduce the noise or have the extractor pointing in a different direction.

We had a very enjoyable stay over the Christmas period. The Boathouse has a relaxed and friendly atmosphere and the staff were so friendly and helpful, nothing was too much trouble. Breakfasts were good and plentiful with a range of choices. We had a comfortable, spacious and warm room with a large balcony which would be lovely in the summer. I liked the fact that the décor reflected the history of the building. The hotel’s position on the riverside away from the town centre meant that it was lovely and peaceful at this time of year. There is a park and ride very close to the hotel (2-3 minutes by foot) so getting into Bath centre is extremely easy without having to take your car. We would definitely book The Boathouse again.

The lighting in our bedroom could have been better. Spot lights either side of the bed would have made all the difference. There is a lack of storage in the bathroom- surfaces for toiletries, hooks for wash bags etc.

The rooms were beautifully individual and homely, it really didn’t feel like you were walking into a hotel room, it was well equipped with tea making facilities and a TV and we even had a voucher each for a free drink in the bar, ours had a balcony which although a bit cold in January would be lovely in the summer. The pub had bags of character and breakfast in the morning was exceptional, there was a continental then cooked options from the menu, breakfast was served in the conservatory which was beautiful! with a view of the river. We walked along the river to bath city centre which took about 40 minutes but after a big breakfast… much needed, but there was a park and ride next door to the pub also. The pub itself had loads of character and was a home away from home

There was nothing to not like!

Had a fantastic stay, staff were exceptionally helpful, friendly and efficient. The towels were out of this world, large, warm and so fluffy and soft!! Food was delicious, the fish and chips and chicken and bacon pie - YUM. Sunsets topped off a great time and laughed at the rowing club kids falling off the stand up boards. Desserts looked good but couldn’t fit them in. Liked it so much, invited friends from Portsmouth to come and stay for a night also. And a special thanks to Chelsea for making us feel at home and part of the boathouse family.

Not a thing, even liked the farmer and his tractor hard at work in the field.

The reception/bar/waiting staff (all the young ladies, sorry we didn’t get your names !) they could not do enough! They were so attentive, even though they were super busy! The hotel is lovely & quirky with its theme ‘The Wind and the Willows’, with a great position situated on the river. Our room was lovely with a balcony view, however we could not help notice a little tiredness creeping in, mostly the bathroom particularly. Over all we have to say the staff made our stay most enjoyable we can not praise them enough!! They should carry on doing what they are doing. Thank you so much ladies for a lovely stay!

Only the bathroom cleanliness & it is just showing signs of tiredness even though we can see that quality bathroom fixture and fittings have been fitted.

We were upgraded which was a lovely surprise, we guess as it was our anniversary. Room was spacious and lovely

Shame the property is in need of some all round maintenance on the wood particularly. On our balcony/terrace the decking past the roofline was slippy and v dangerous and the furniture generally in terrible condition. The two steamer chairs and coffee table were lovely, but there were no cushions for the hanging chair and the white table (that was missing chairs) was rusty. All the pots on the decking were sad, lacking any care and rusting. So sad to see as it could easily be stupendous!! One empty plant pot was full of floating cigarette buts 🤢

Location was fantastic. Good walks nearby and excellent transport links into centre without driving. Incredibly dog friendly so always felt comfortable. Lovely choice and conservatory setting for breakfast Bedroom and bedroom decoration quirky and huge bed! Super power shower. Loved little touches like view of river on screen

location of our room- noisy for short time when early morning drinks delivery and would pay more to be at the front of the property to have a view/balcony next stay. Little things: Would have liked to have welcome book in room for info on local area/checkout times etc and also didn’t have drink vouchers so not sure what they were? Know big fridge in communal area but small fridge in bedroom would be fab. However, really enjoyed stay!

We were greeted by lovely friendly staff o our arrival at the hotel, which was a last minute thing for us. We checked in and were shown to our room. To our delight we’d been given an upgrade to a fabulous room with a balcony overlooking the Avon . The room was spotless and the super bathroom was the perfect place where I relaxed in a bubble bath and I could see the river from the bath , so I lay there watching canoes being rowed by. The toiletries were great and made my hair feel silky and smell amazing . The soft , fluffy towels were superb quality and the perfect size. When I used the hairdryer the delightful scent filled the room and I climbed onto the super comfy giant bed and drifted off to a perfect sleep( after enjoying the complementary coffee and biscuits left in my room. I read the interesting magazine provided and watched a little Tv too) In the morning I enjoyed another coffee and drank some bottled water thoughtfully left in my room to take my medication. I wondered downstairs and into the restaurant arround 10am where, having missed breakfast I was offered a continental breakfast at a very reasonable rate. I then enjoyed some of the superb choices on offer and drank my fill of orange juice and coffee. The croissants were particularly good and there was everything I could’ve asked for beautifully laid out for my perusal. I would recommend the hotel 100% and will be telling my friends and family about it so they can perhaps enjoy a visit. Thank you so much for a wonderful stay and we will definitely be visiting you again when we’re in the area ❤️

When reading some of the literature it said there was Hot chocolate in the room and I was a little disappointed to find that there wasn’t any but there was a large choice of other drinks so it wasn’t a problem

Breakfast was really nice. Cooked breakfast part to order and plentiful. Really dog friendly hotel. Overall accommodation was great. Small hotel, nothing was an issue for the staff. Checkin strictly not before 3pm but fine for us as we had not long when we arrived. Slight issue with one of our bathroom doors not shutting properly (really minor). We had dinner there first night which was also lovely. Park n ride into Bath centre really convenient next door and walks along both sides of the river for us and the dog. Boats coming along the river all day and you can hire boats.

Nothing was a real issue for us. Main thing we were after was dog friendly.

Comfortable bed Plenty of hot water, powerful shower, nice toiletries Good wifi Great location slighty out of town but lovely walk down the river in to town Very close to the bus station at Newbridge if you don't walk to walk

We asked for a quiet room and they put us in a room above the front door. This actually wasn't an issue in the evening as they weren't that busy. But the next morning they had a Brakes delivery at 8am and the lorry reveresed up to the door with the warning beeping and then clattered around for about half an hour unloading all the produce.
