Very friendly welcome, lovely staff and bed was comfortable. Powerful, hot shower. Spa facilities were a welcome treat and dinner and cooked breakfast exceptional - they don’t scrimp on quality ingredients that’s for sure. I’d definitely eat here again! Good value and price-wise, spot on.

Constructive point (because you’re doing great things and want you to continue to succeed)… you have clearly spent some money in recent times on making the hotel look really nice - it could do with some reinvestment in upkeep however. The fixtures and fittings in the room appeared to have been a bit neglected since your fit-out and you’d do well to spend a weekend or two fixing things up (wonky loo seats, loose door fittings, shower shelf on the floor, stairwell carpets need a good clean... get those in check and you’re onto a winner - I would stay again and be impressed if these bits were addressed.

I was welcomed on arrival, and was offered help with my bags. My booking was made via Booking.com (I will book direct if I get to visit in future) and I requested one of the rooms with a bath tub. Whether this was taken into account, I don't know, but I I got what I was hoping for. The room was on the second floor (there are no wheelchair-accessible rooms), and was clean and bright, with modern furnishings. The bed was comfy and, once the window and secondary glazing were closed, there was no noticeable noise from the outside. I was only aware of noise from other guests when they were entering or leaving their own rooms. The bathroom was pleasant, with modern fixtures including the afore-mentioned double-ended slipper bath. The towels provided were nice and fluffy and there were plenty of little bottles of shampoo and conditioner, but no body wash. Shower caps were also supplied, although these seemed somewhat superfluous as the only use for the shower attachment was to wash your hair. Early evening, the water was just about warm enough for a short dip. There was a flat screen TV opposite the bed, with sockets and teamaking facilities adjacent. I was told on arrival that if I needed extra supplies, I only had to ask. There was a fulsome and useful visitor information book - albeit in a rather worn outer cover. The included breakfast was good, served at tourist-friendly times and with the same pleasant service as before (although the bacon left me parched for most of the day!). Evening meal was from a varied menu, well-prepared and served with the same professionalism that I had come to expect. There is a small car park to the rear of the hotel, with a larger public car park across the road.

Frustratingly, there were no sockets next to the bed, which meant that charging my tablet whilst watching it was a no-go. It would also be useful to replace the existing sockets with ones including USB connections. I would have liked to see an EV charger (or two), as these are becoming increasingly common and needed, but I believe that there a couple of public AC chargers at the car park just up the hill.

The staff were welcoming and helpful, the spa was a bonus, great to be able to book a really good massage with Dayna. The food was amazing (the portions were a bit more than I could manage but better that than not enough). Located right in the centre of Blaenavon, easy walking distance of The Ironworks and World heritage centre. Ample parking in private hotel car park

Just a couple of little things…the hairdryer overheated easily and needed to wait half an hour for it to cool down mid way through drying my hair. Could do with investing in more portable fans as it got very hot in the room at night in June, I asked if they could provide one but there don’t appear to be enough for all the rooms. Overall, it was a great hotel though

Friendly welcome. Clean and well maintained. Everything worked as it should. Fantastic breakfast! I decided to blow my full-fat and cholesterol allowance for this year on the Full Welsh breakfast - but it was worth it!

My only very minor critism would be the use of standard catering packs of sauces and condiments. They really don't do the superb breakfast ingredients or their preparation and presentstion any justice! This would be a perfect opportunity to showcase locally produced "artisan" type jams, preserves, chutneys and sauces etc. 😋

Great bed and breakfast in the centre of town. Fine dining quality food at the cost of slightly pricey pub grub. Amazingly accommodating for my partner’s birthday from putting up banners while cleaning the room to somehow fitting 19 candles on a tart safely; this really speaks to the lengths at which the staff will go to ensure the best stay for their guests.

Unfortunately during our stay the wellness facility was out of commission and we were unable to use this, and this was a massive draw while booking. The staff were however greatly empathetic to these concerns

The rooms were of decent size, well equipped and perfectly acceptable for all of our party Free parking to the rear of the property Good choice of breakfast available Was close to where we were going the following day, so well located Big Pit and a brewery is only 3 mins away by car

It was perhaps more of a pub with rooms, than a hotel As we stayed on a Sunday, they only did Sunday Roasts until 3pm - so no food was available in the evening (which we knew). We found that the town offered very little in terms of other eating establishments, so we ended up having to drive 10-15 mins to find somewhere.

It is a very friendly hotel/restaurant/pub in the centre of Blaenavon. The room was excellent and fully fitted out with great shower with instant hot water! The breakfasts are awesome with so much choice and generous portions. I eat there too and was very pleased with the menu choices. All in all a delightful break inn interesting town.

I would like there to have been fruit available for breakfast. I was pleased that there was always de-caff coffee. I would have liked the chance to have a second coffee at breakfast.

Breakfast was very typical. Needed to re-stock a few things and cereal selection could have been more extensive. Evening dinner was excellent - very nice. Staff went above and beyond as we needed an extension cord and there was not one on site so organised to get one for us and then took to room and set up.

Bathroom is a bit too small. Not sure how they can remedy that as it is an old hotel.

Staff were very friendly and helpful. Varieties of option for the breakfast and yummy. Spa facilities were really nice. Love the vibe of the pub. We would love to go back and also, recommend everyone who would like to visit blaenovon.

It would be nice if there was shower in family room. Also, there was no dinner available on Sunday evening at the restaurant as we were looking forward to spend evening at the restaurants.

The room was great even though it was opposite a live music venue we really didn't get disturb. The breakfast included was nice too and they accommodated us for dinner at short notice. Staff were really helpful and friendly. The pub/restaurant has nice decor and a relaxed atmosphere. We will definitely stay there again if we ever visited the area.

Needed a bit more milk sachets in the room 1 and 1/2 between two people was a little short. I really could have done with an iron, but apart from that the accommodation was ideal for our one night stay. Steak was quite chewy even though we had it cook medium, it was a tad expensive at £21 each for the quality of the meat. But they fitted us in for dinner last minute, so appreciated that.
