Incredibly comfortable beds (the right kind of firm), a fantastic tub (plus lovely bath addition options in the mini bar), a gorgeous view, AND dog inviting (way more than just dog friendly)? YES PLEASE! We had not intended to stay here…we were on a short trip in our ‘87 Westy for my birthday when we encountered engine trouble. We were happy to be 20 miles from Bellingham and a great shop that could look at our van—but it was unfortunately also our lodging. Since it was my birthday, we decided to spring for the Bellwether rather than something less costly, and my goodness, did we make the right choice! I had put the reason for our last-minute booking in our info and arrived to a room upgrade to the water view side, a reduced pet fee foe our sweet pup, and a staff asking how else they could help improve our day. They could not have been kinder. I only wish we had stayed longer than one night!

Honestly, it was all great.

This is an amazing hotel with attention to details. Super friendly staff. Location was great for being on the water and walking. At least 6 restaurants/coffee places within two minute walking distance. Sushi restaurant nearby has a sushi train, and prices were on on the lower side. Coffee place a few doors down, had great coffee, but super expensive! Hotel has great coffee for free in the lobby, and great cookies in the afternoon. Restaurant at the hotel was amazing for New years Dinner, although the ambiance wasn't the greatest as we were put into the banquet room, but service and food was amazing! Would highly recommend!

I didn't like the room we were in for New Years dinner, as it was the banquet room and just felt cold and non personal. Dinner was amazing, but quite expensive if you're from Canada (for New years dinner anyways) we didn't have any other meals there. But otherwise a great experience. We would totally recommend and for sure go back! So many cool places nearby to visit! Old town, fairhaven, downtown.

This was another hotel that we booked last minute when our plans changed. The room is one of the best I've stayed in. It was beautifully decorated and the patio was amazing! The view was overlooking the Bay and marina. It was close to the boardwalk and the parking was free. There is a restaurant onsite and many nearby, although we drove to town for dinner. I rarely take a bath but I couldn't resist the whirlpool tub, and it was great.

No breakfast included but they do have a restaurant.

Absolutely 5 Star trained and passionate staff. Ambience on the water lovely. Comfortable furniture in the room. Nespresso pod machine a super useful addition!..Balcony roomy enough for two. Very solid room..double glazed..Super service and food at the adjacent Anthony's Grill.. Cheers to Aaron at Bellwether!🤗

Ambient lamps, etc were adequate, but room definitely needed better task (overhead) lighting when needing to see everything clearly..like when packing..Need more convenient, accessible and updated power/charging outlets in bedroom area..accessing these on both sides of bed a struggle if not impossible. Fairly noisy air system both behind the wall and in-room system. Elevator very slow to respond. All symptoms of older buildings needing a pretty serious upgrade. Only nag about the location is the fact it's an industrial precinct hike from the cafe and stores district of OldTown..and parking in OldTown is hard...but it's "isolation" has it's own rewards!

The grounds are gorgeous. My husband and I sat on the expansive patio and watched the sunset. The hotel and restaurant staff were excellent. There is a walking path that passes just in front of the motel that goes around the marina to a lovely park. The hotel is just minutes away from Bellingham.

I wish the bathroom didn't have shutters that opened into the main room. Yes, you can close them, but doing so is not as sound- and light-proof as, say, a wall. I'll never understand why any architect thought this was a good design choice. I guess it's supposed to enable you to enjoy the view while bathing, but once in the tub, you are too low to see anything anyway. All this design does is make the bathroom less private and more awkward.

Room was large with separate kitchenette with dining table, a large bathroom with jetted tub. Sleeping area that overlooks a sunken living room with fireplace and lots of seating. Balcony that overlooks the marina and a beautiful sunset

Still have not been reimbursed for an event that was canceled due to rain. Took $80 via credit card at the entry and it immediately started to rain. We were then told it was being canceled. We asked for our $ back and were told we would (several times) but that they "have not figured out how to reimburse us"..??

Very clean and friendly staff. Loved the walk around the marina every morning. Liked that there’s a dedicated pet free floor (I have allergies). A few restaurants around for variety since it is away from town. Live music in the bar/grill is really nice!

The spa and fitness centre are not actually on site - not far but in different buildings. The food was only ok for the price and amount. We enjoyed the other restaurants more for value.

Location was excellent. View of marina and entertainment from our room

Our room didn’t receive room service until I complained. Then the complaint wasn’t reported to the manager as promised. When I checked out I spoke to the front desk who apologized and credited $75 to the bill. I’m from CA so after paying $3100 for a week I thought that was not great. But it wouldn’t deter me from staying there again. We had a good time.

When I arrived with my Labrador Retriever, there was a dog bed, a bowl with a bottle of water, and a bowl with a bag of treats. So nice to stay where its clean and so welcoming to pets! Will definitely be back. Also the pet fee is $50 per night for under 55lbs and $100 per night for over 55lbs.

The price, even for what it was worth seemed high. Taxes and pet fee brought it from $320 to $420.

Loved Bellwether’s friendly, wonderful & service oriented staff. Made our stay so welcoming and caring of us, their customers.

The bed is too high. As a Senior woman with short legs, it was way too challenging to get into bed. Esp with an invisible, right side disability. The bed was very comfy.
