Wonderful location and view. We had a room with the lake view and a four poster bed. The price paid for the room and breakfast was reasonable. The price for dinner and wine was quite steep and maybe this is the hotels compensation for the room rate. Saying this, the quality of the food was excellent and we very much enjoyed the two dinners and breakfasts we had. Staff were friendly and professional. My wife walked the entire circumference of the lake one morning and it is further than you may imagine.

The cost of the wine was steep a GBP13-15 retail wine is 50 in the restaurant. Dinner for two each evenings was ~GBP130 The bathroom was clean and functional but the shower head could have done with descaling to contain the spread.

It was as good as we hoped it would be based on all of the reviews. The lake view is truly beautiful, the grounds are well maintained and there are opportunities for walking in the countryside at the back of the hotel if the 12 miles round the lake on tarmac doesn’t appeal.

Some already high dinner menu prices had been increased above those on the website and the menu choices could do with being broadened. The food quality and presentation could not be faulted though.

The location is great. The rooms are clean and comfortable and the staff are friendly and helpful.

We’ve been many times and felt this time the dinner menu wasn’t as good as previously. Being vegetarian and staying a few nights it was limited. We were able to order from the lunch menu but felt the food wasn’t as good as previously. However we did enjoy the breakfast menu.

The location is fabulous. It's ao relaxing overlooking the lake and you can just hear the birds. The food was excellent. We had scollops and goats cheese tart to start , salmon for main, and my husband had cheesecake for dessert. Bottle of rose was lovely, too. Breakfast, you initially get a tray with fruit, juice, toast, and 2 small crossants. You can then select cold or hot items to order. We both had the full breakfast which was lovely. Only negative was cold toast. The room was large and had fantastic views.

The room was stiflingly hot at night, which made it difficult to sleep. We opened the door to the balcony but was it was still hot.

Stunning location, superb views from balcony overlooking the lake. Beautiful room, very clean, comfortable bed, lots of variety of complimentary teas and coffees plus a mini fridge.

Breakfast very disappointing! We booked breakfast for 9.30am but waited 10 minutes to be seated and then a long wait at the table for our coffee order. Coffee arrived with a tray of toast, croissant and fruit but it was 10.35am before the cooked breakfast arrived! We had chosen Eggs Royale but they came with scrambled eggs instead of poached, it was horrible and cold and we didn't have time to re order before the 11 am checkout.

Location! The drive up through mid Wales was spectacular enough and Lake Vyrnwy was no different. Outstanding views - the area is stunning. Staff were great, very helpful and polite. We travelled around the area during the 4 days there so ate out for lunch/dinner and didn't experience this at the hotel. We did have breakfast there though and cannot compliment it enough.

This isn't a gripe/grumble, merely an observation. The decor in parts of the hotel is a bit tired and could do with an update. The couple of rooms my party had, that overlooked the lake, could do with a balconies to enhance the experience.

Amazing views from the room and restaurant. Breakfast and dinner were fantastic, lovely menu choices and a wide range of breakfast options. Staff were extremely accomodating and friendly throughout our stay. We spent a day at the spa which was lovely. Nice range of treatment options and lovely staff. Used the clay shooting range which has a nice range of targets and helpful, friendly gamekeeper team - a nice and unique feature well worth booking. If you want to use the clay range either for an experience day or when taking your own guns be sure to book in advance of arrival to ensure availability.

From the moment we arrived to our departure we were made to feel special. We stayed in Rm 40, wow 4 poster bed, balcony with amazing views over the lake. The room was huge, as was the bed. Everything you need is supplied,; iron, ironing board, ample supplies of beverages, toiletries etc. A big thankyou to housekeeping staff, you all work so hard. One of the team was delightful, helped us to our room, when we got lost in the one of many corridors. Must recommend the Spa, 15.00 for 2 hours, treatments also available. Enjoyed our breakfast and lunch in the dining room overlooking the lake. Definitely going to book for our next Anniversary in Nov.

Really would be nice to have background music in the dining room.

The location is just breathtaking. The hotel itself fits the location perfectly. It's clean. Food was excellent . Atmospheric at night

Most staff were excellent. But 2 let it down on more than 1 occasion. Head staff in restaurant busy chatting to residents to notice when we were waiting to order. 20 minutes to place an order while he wandered up and down chatting was not good. Bar staff couldn't even acknowledge that we were stood at the bar. He walked into the bar. Saw us turned his back and got a drink out of the fridge and walked back out. We understand that he was probably serving room service but a little acknowledgement of our existence goes along way.

We recently had the pleasure of staying at hotel, and we can’t say enough good things about my experience! From the moment we walked in, we were greeted by the friendly staff who made the check-in process quick and easy. The room itself was beautifully appointed and spotlessly clean. The decor was modern and stylish, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. The bed was incredibly comfortable, with plush pillows and soft linens that made for a restful night's sleep. We loved having a spacious room with plenty of natural light and a great view of the surrounding area. The amenities were top-notch, including a flat-screen TV, a mini-fridge, and complimentary Wi-Fi that made it easy to stay connected. We really appreciated the little touches, like lovely selection of teas, biscuits and the coffee maker in the room. Additionally, the location of the hotel was perfect, we enjoyed exploring the area and appreciated how convenient everything was. Overall, our stay was exceptional, and we would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a comfortable and enjoyable place to stay. We can’t wait to return!
