The pub itself is nice, good friendly staff. The room we got moved to was very nice, although it could do with some better sound proofing, as the windows were single glazed. The breakfast was good with lots of options, (although you have to pay for any hot drinks that aren't basic tea or coffee) The location was good, close enough to the main area with a 10 minute walk. There's no parking. We used the park and ride, and walked to the pub (there is a bus). Each room has its own heating control, it was nice to turn it up a bit for a while when we came back cold from walking. Our ensuite had a little motion sensor nightlight in it so you can see the layout of the bathroom in the dark.

The first room we were given had no heating. It was December, and cold but after a while, they offered to move us. The next room was warmer, and nicer. Was quite noisy at night due to single glazed windows. The room looked clean, but we found a couple of dog biscuits on the floor, which made me wonder how well it had been cleaned (we don't have a dog).

Location was good - took about 10 mins to walk into the city centre. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. We booked quite late so only had the choice of the family room, but this was lovely. It was spacious and the bed was very comfy. Nicely decorated and the ensuite was a good size and with a choice of rain shower or normal shower head. We had dinner in the restaurant which was lovely - nice ambience and good, well cooked food. The beer garden is great - right by the river and I would imagine is very busy on a sunny day. Breakfast was delicious - a very good full English with good quality ingredients. Eggs Benedict was good too. The only slight downside is the cost - it's not cheap, but it's Oxford, it's right on the river and it's a quality place. I'd definitely stay there again.

Nothing.

Location, charming/authentic place & bedroom, friendly and helpful staff, nice bathroom and shower, coffee/tee machines, small fridge... English breakfast & omelette, fish & chips... The terrace of the hotel was amazing, along the river, large and nicely arranged. Lots of nice walks around... (in the city, along the river or in the countryside).

We are used of queen or king size beds, but the one we got was 1.40m large. Very comfortable, but too small for us two. Maybe the other bedrooms have larger ones (to be checked in advance)? The bedrooms with a view on the terrace are noisy because of the single glazing and of the road just in front. The weather was fortunately still cold and the windows closed, but I guess the noise can be an issue during summertime. Not enough space to put your belongings (in the bathroom as well as in the bedroom). Only 2 coat hooks (no wardrobe, no suitcase rack). No lift (for those who have heavy suitcases... but it was not a problem for us.).

The staff were all very friendly and welcoming, when we arrived and throughout our stay We stayed in a “comfy room” and it was lovely. I would’ve liked a bigger bed because I’m used to that at home, but the double bed was comfortable. There was air con, and lovely smelling bathroom supplies. There was a great selection of tea and coffee, and a mini fridge The full English breakfast was amazing, and the poached eggs were some of the best that I have eaten. In the summer, the outside would have been fantastic as the hotel sits on the river. It is literally a 10 minute walk to the centre, so everything is walkable.

This is not a moan, it is just a heads up for people thinking about coming to Oxford. Parking in Oxford is a nightmare so we decided to use the park and ride. We could leave the car for 72 hours for £12 and get the bus in. It works really well and would not put us off staying at this hotel again.

The staff were so friendly and helpful. Check-in and check-out was easy. The room was lovely, nice décor and additions such as milk for drinks, bottles of water, toiletries and a fan for if it became too hot. Always great when there is an iron in the room! Breakfast was great - choose from continental and then I ordered the omelette (delicious) with a range of fruit juices. Had been concerned prior to the visit of it being above a pub/beer garden but this was not an issue at all and due to the sun it was nice to wander straight into a beer garden along the river.

Location was great, pub was lovely, good selection of drinks, room was comfortable, staff was lovely. Fry up and continental options were lovely at breakfast and good selection of drinks in the room.

We chose the comfortable room which was lovely, definitely a room for a 2 night stay minimum as there is no cupboard space, we were disappointed with the pancakes at breakfast (very odd texture!) and the roast was disappointing. There was barely any meat and so much cabbage it was a bit much. Coffee was cold both mornings too so had the coffee in my room.

The room was lovely and cozy and overlooked the river

We had a slight issue in the restaurant on Sunday evening which we reported to staff at the time as there were 2 mice running around under the tables near the ones overlooking the river … I had to contain my sister from squealing ! This made us a little apprehensive about coming down for breakfast but that part wasn’t in use the next morning … not great having mice in a restaurant but it is still a very lovely place that maybe we would return to

I have been visiting this pub for over forty years, it is a very special place for me and was happy to have the opportunity to stay in one of their rooms. The staff were excellent, the food and beer were excellent, and we were treated very well.

We were a little disappointed in the room; the bed consisted of 2 single beds joined together, the mattress of both beds was very sunken at hip level which made it uncomfortable to sleep in. The room was also very small with virtually no space for luggage/bags and the coat pegs were located very high up on the wall making them difficult to reach.

Clean and location friendly staff and helpful .

The room . Room 12 was lovely interior but no privacy as we had children go out through the fire exit and walked along the balcony and we didn't know they could do that. We were In bed i will say no more!!. Curtains then had to be drawn 24/7 Incase it happened again even just popping out of shower wrapped in a towel . The room was very overpriced .Food average and seating for me personally needed cushions for outside.

The room was lovely, comfortable and warm. We had plenty of space with a window seat to watch the river go by, and a desk to work. Nice decor, a comfy big bed, and a nice sized bathroom. We went off-season so was nice and quiet - also super cold outside so no-one was out drinking late either. Staff were always so nice, regardless of time of the day.

The breakfast was nice, but wasn't as good as the room.
