It is not any simple hotel!! It is a museum!! I was traveling to Oxford to see the old university, heritage and architecture, and I couldn't imagine I would spend the night at a museum! This hotel deserves to be a "boutique hotel". It is a private exquisite hotel, located in a an old small Bldg from the 16th century, it has only few rooms on site. Though it does not offer a lot of facilities, the private lounge with the old chimenea and windows overlooking “oxford museum” has got all it takes to make you travel in time to some old ages. All of this, and having the whole place for me to spend it with my guests made us really feel exclusive. Briefly, as an art lover, I have had a charming stay here, and I have enjoyed it to the last detail with the all the fantasies that the Versace style furniture have brought to me.

Lovely rooms, but small. No dressers to unpack. But newly renovated and nice bathrooms in a centuries old building in Oxford. Good walking options to colleges, restaurants, and shopping.
We are seniors with arthritis and joint problems visiting from the USA. Due to my inexperience, I booked into this charming hotel without inquiring about an elevator. There isn’t one! We struggled getting up and down the many uneven steps. However, the staff was helpful and assisted us with out luggage when we checked out and get a cab. FYI this hotel is not staffed around the clock, but are available by telephone.

The hotel is in a great location, I was provided with my room and code in good time before my check-in and the room was very clean when I arrived. Deposit refunded within 24hrs of checking out.
The site did say that tea and coffee would be provided, but sadly the coffee machine was broken and there were no tea bags. In addition, the communal cups / mugs were a little dirty. However, for the price of the room and given the room was great, I’d say it’s really a minor grievance.

Great location. Clean. Comfortable. Perfect for one night stay. Smooth, no hassle with entrance and room codes. A small establishment, not too many rooms or other visitors. Little kitchen facilities were a lovely surprise and a bonus.. Quirky environment, unusual and quaint.
For the entire stay and according to another guest, beforehand as well, we didn't have any Internet Connection and no signal for the television. Little confusing, location of the entrance/door on the outside of the building,

Great location, very nicely furnished room, comfy bed, good shower, got a great price vs others nearby, would absolutely stay there again Note this is a self-serve booking, you get a pin number to the door and your room and let yourself in. All details sent by email in advance. V easy to do.
Entry stairs need a new carpet, doesn't create best first impression after walking down the alley next to the pub. However the rooms are very easy to access and location is brilliant. Zero phone signal (not the hotels fault obvs) but WiFi was fine, they've got tvplus set up for watching shows but mine wouldn't work. All minor niggles, no complaints, particularly for the price

Cleanliness was a little lacking, broken shower knob and ripped bath mats. Not too bad overall but enough for me to email the hotel as I wanted to make sure they wouldn't blame me. Especially as there was a quite a large list of things I could be charged for on the room - I thought it was quite cheeky to make a big deal of how I would be charged for a ripped towel and then providing me with a towel that was already ripped. Same for blood on one of the pillow cases.

Very central location, rooms clean and very pleasant to stay in. Kettle in room. Kettle, toaster, cooker, dishwasher and tables in tea room area. History of building and renovation photos interesting. Supermarket a few doors away. Pub next door. Beautiful buildings oposite
Initial trouble finding entrance. I could not locate any staff on site to find second room i booked - i rang number given - no answer, then someone promptly rang back and forwarded room codes for the second room.

Great location and a lovely room to stay in. The breakfast room and kitchen with coffee machine was wonderful. A very thoughtful addition to the premises.
The check in was problematic. We didn't receive a code for the door and could not contact anyone at the property. There may have been some confusion due to our booking an extra night. The staff at Booking.com we're excellent in trying to rectify the issue. Eventually all was well bit it was a bit stressful.

First I was afraid because of the location close to a pub, but I had on of the best sleep while I was there. On the week of our stay, I had my half marathon; that was the main reason I chose the Museum Hotel as it was just a few minutes walk from the start line. The room contained everything that I needed, there were some big curtains that helped me to sleep well before race day. There was a communal area with a seat, which was the perfect way to eat your breakfast. Clean, quite, nice staff.
The only negative that I could say would be probably the heating. There was an A/C in our room, but it was quite hard to warm up the room.
