Breakfast/dinner cooked to order and quality excellent. Staff/management excellent and attempted to make our stay enjoyable. A family run hotel that wants you to return. Special thanks to Matthew, his sister and the lovely young lady at Reception - she was the “Jill of all trades’

Asked for a ground floor room - but we were given a 1st floor room. Evidently there seems to be a communication problem between booking.com and the hotel. Some updating of room would be good but this is an older property and a bit of tolerance should be given. Next to a road so traffic noise in the morning. No problems during the night and we slept well

We booked Andel Lodge at short notice because the accommodation we had originally booked, advised us late that they had overbooked and could not accommodate us. It was not easy to find an alternative place because we had a dog with us. However, we found a room at Andel Lodge and our dog and ourselves were made very welcome. The hosts and staff throughout our stay have been excellent. The beds were very comfortable and the door to the room opened directly to the outside so there was immediate access to a garden for the dog. Great breakfasts and a good choice of food and drink. We had a lovely stay and would recommend it.

Nothing really but we would advise any light sleeper to maybe take some earplugs as the hotel is located on a very busy road with some very heavy traffic. It certainly didn’t affect the enjoyment of our stay.

Family run, very clean, cosy establishment in good location, easy to find, very friendly and efficient staff, good, well cooked, hot food. Reliable Wi-Fi, well stocked bar, offers value for money. We had a large comfortable room, comfy bed, nice bedding, good selection of channels on TV, trouser press, hairdryer, plenty of storage and free parking. Also a lovely garden behind hotel. Could this hotel benefit from some updating ? Yes, but it suited us 100% and no complaints.

If you’re looking for extremely modern and chain like hotels don’t come here. Quirky and quaint but maybe not to everyone’s taste.

The owner and staff at Andel Lodge are absolutely amazing and will go out their way to do anything for you. They are so friendly and honestly even my oldest son wanted to say bye personally to her because she has the best customer service ever. The gardens were beautiful and you have your own little porch with a table overlooking the gardens. Great place to relax and stay with family. We visited Watuntga wildlife reserve and Sandringham estate all accessible via public transport.

The breakfast was substantial with a good mixture of cold buffet and hot food cooked to order. A vegetarian option could have been offered. Possibly cereals in large containers rather than the individual boxes might be more economical.

The plug hole in the bathroom of room six could have been cleaner. Our room wasn’t serviced during our stay, as we were only there for two nights, though we did have the option of requesting servicing. Maybe the mugs could have been changed.

Our room was comfortable and spacious enough and we had no noise from outside. Breakfast was ample, varied and tasty. Portion size was very good. The dinners we had were again very good in portion size, taste and quality. The staff were friendly and helpful. We have resolved to go again.

As soon as we arrived the key in our bedroom door broke and for a few wild minutes we were locked in. But equally, the staff saved the day with a master key and we were released. Not so much that we didn't like it, more that we were initially very concerned, though very quickly very relieved.

The room was spacious and comfy.

Apparently the hotel aren't normally expecting check ins on a Sunday so when we arrived the whole place was locked down. We rang the bell and got checked in okay after. At breakfast there was a lack of staff around when we were finished and looking to check out I ended up walking into the kitchen area where I could hear voices to get someone's attention. Although they have free WiFi our room was outside and too far away to pick it up. Staff were polite and helpful through our stay though.

The room was lovely and well equipped, the bed was comfortable and the room was clean. staff were very friendly and helpful, we couldn't fault the food, it was all cooked to order and was delicious, and the portions were plentiful. We would definitely recommend the Andel.

Food was excellent, customer service very good. Staff ( Tina & Rodney) were exceptionally helpful, they were the staff we mostly spoke to but the young girl on duty ( didn't get her name) was also friendly. This hotel has excellent staff, makes a real difference to customers visiting hotels.

No shower spray for hair wash & sockets hidden behind bedside tables but because of the staff, food and customer service we didn't let this change our opinion.

I loved that our dogs could stay with us. The room was very clean and did not smell of dogs like some rooms we have stayed in. We could park right outside our room and there were ramps around the hotel to enable my father, who is disabled, to access hotel dining and bar. The hotel was lovely and bright inside and all the staff we spoke to were really friendly and helpful. There is a busy main road to the front of the hotel, but around the back and sides is a lovely garden and grassed area to allow your dog a quick walk before bedtime.

The room itself was a little dark but that is because there is a canopy and seating area for personal use outside. The outdoor dustbin could have done with being a bit larger as it soon filled up.
