The staff were very helpful and pleasant. The food was very good. Room 205 was comfortable and quiet. The convenient location for the station and beach.

As one who has mobility problems at 91 years of age the lack of hand holds, other than the door handle to the shower and mixtnaer/hot water control, was worrying. The en suite floor tiles are slippery when wet. Similarly the gloss painted handrails to the balusters makes them slippery. The absence of a lift is a disadvantage and when we revisit I will ask for a ground floor room. Despite all this we did enjoy our stay.

The rooms were very comfortable, cosy ,very cute (we had three single rooms and loved them all) especially the sea views. The breakfast was - the BEST - perfect eggs royal- and anything we wanted from the buffet- all very tasty. The spa and treatments were superb. All the staff were so friendly and we had such a pleasant stay.

The sauna could have been hotter. (Luckily the steam room was very warm). Also I wouldn't recommend the spa dinner 3 course dinner package because this is actually a lunch menu (unless its summertime and maybe this would be OK). However the restaurant staff were fantastic and they offered us £30 off the a la carte instead which we were very happy with- so perhaps go for the package and request this instead.

This hotel is in a great location, right on the beach and around 30 mins walk into town. The staff were friendly and helpful, and when we came back in the evening after going to a concert we went to the bar for a drink. The bar had a really good vibe. The room was lovely clean and the bed comfortable and the shower was great! We had a great selection at breakfast which was hot and tasty. The staff contacted me when we got home because I left a t.shirt behind which they sent to me free of charge The service was above and beyond my expectations. Overall a great experience and we will be back!

Nothing, it was all good!

The hotel was as expected but the staff were exceptional, nothing was too much trouble and they were all friendly but efficient and professional. Our daughter and son-in-law joined us for a meal on my birthday with their two large dogs and as the weather wasn’t suitable to dine on the terrace they accommodated us inside. The provision of this space made for a memorable birthday. It is unusual to find staff of this calibre from housekeeping, reception, as well as bar staff and waiting staff and all those who are unseen. They were all superb. Training and management have done a wonderful job. Thank you.

We could not fault anything.

We started off in a room in sea house ground floor overlooking railway. My husband did not sleep it was so noisy, not only trains but workmen at 8am banging and sawing. Fortunately the hotel found us a better room in main hotel on first floor. What a difference otherwise we had no option but leave hotel. We found the washbasin in bathroom odd, no way could you fill basin for wash. Also the toilet roll holder was too far away and could have been where the bin was.

The television was ok in sea house but in room 111 after 4 minutes picture froze and had to change channels to get it working again. This went on every few minutes not enjoyable when trying to watch a programme. We did bring this to the attention of lady in reception. Our friends in disabled room has same problem. The switch for the reading light near bed was awful, just like sharp prick!

This hotel probably has the best staff of any hotel that I have ever been to. Nothing was too much trouble. The food was a bit on the pricey side, but I can’t fault it. I loved sitting on the balcony in the late evening with a glass of something, watching the sea.

I didn’t like the stairs. I wish there was a lift. It would be the only thing that would stop me coming back, if I couldn’t get a ground floor room. Also, we were situated in room 113, which is just slightly to the left of the dining room but probably over the kitchen. This didn’t bother me but the fans that came on around 6 am in the morning woke me up every morning.

Nicely refurbished hotel. Very tasty food. Pleasant staff. We enjoyed our massages.

Be aware that there are Christmas party nights going on currently, music below us till late. Also there is beach replenishment work going on in front of the hotel, so we were woken early with their machinery. We had a drink at the bar on arrival and then before our dinner, it wasn’t until we sat at a table to order dinner that we were offered a Christmas drinks menu, by then it was too late as we wanted food. We would have expected the bar to offer these drinks.

Our King size room was lovely with a full view of the sea. The room was a little on the cool side but we had a reasonably thick duvet so were ok once in bed. Dinner was good, a nice range of options with a good wine selection.

Breakfast was a little chaotic. We were a table of 11 and 3 of the rooms were breakfast inclusive and 3 weren't. It made for a complicated ordering process and the waitress was struggling a bit. You need to extend the timing of breakfast on a Sunday. We came down at 9.30 as seemingly did every one else! As a result the buffet quickly ran out of things and there was a long wait for those of us ordering food from the menu.

Dinner was very good. There was a good selection of food for breakfast, we found what we wanted anyway, sea views from restaurant and terrace superb.

The maze of corridors meant we found it difficult to navigate to and from our room to other parts of the hotel. Had our stay been longer we might have familiarised ourselves with it. I thought it was a shame that it wasn’t designed so that there was direct access from the bar seating area to the terrace. Whilst it had everything in it that one would expect the room was a little “compact and bijoux” that is why it did not get top rating from me for value for money.

Overall everything was as anticipated.

I had been expecting slippers in my room, as defined by the Booking.com confirmation details, but there were none so I tried to phone reception (at 10.30/10.45pm on my arrival evening) but there was no reply. I tried again, and again. Still no reply. I reported both these incidents to reception the next morning, they told me that slippers had to be requested. I said I had never been told this - later slippers were brought to my room. Reception was puzzled that the phone had not been answered and said they’d check the phone line. I do not know the result of the phone line check as I had no cause to call down again.
