The staff members were helpful; they helped arrange airport shuttle and pick us up when we arrived in Uyuni (otherwise this would have cost 200 Bolivianos). The pool is beautiful and the water temperature is just right.

During summer season, the room can feel a bit warm. Also, the sun rises at around 5 am and our room got really bright.

Hotel room and facilities

Hotel is situated in 30min ride from town, surrounded by salt desert. Hotel is lovely unfortunately they ripping people off on food. Breakfast is a good, dinner service is charged 29 dollars buffet style(but be ready its 3 option to choose from and 3 sides) I generally wouldn't call that buffet. More like kids lunch party. At the bar you can order thew bits but trust me you will be hungry. Make sure you are arriving here with full suitcase of food🤣🤣🤣otherwise you will starving. If you have allergy or food requirements I would run for your life as they don't care.

The hotel is located right on the salt flat, with access within walking distance. The hotel has a unique design with salt bricks throughout the property. The room is very comfortable, and truly unique. This is a luxury property in one of the most remote parts of the planet. I enjoyed renting a bicycle and riding on the salt pains. I also enjoyed the beautiful spa, when it was open and working. The breakfast was also great, with many options. Although a rather expensive stay, I would recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Uyuni and I would happily stay here again.

Parts of the hotel were closed at different times, without any explanation. The bar, for example, was closed during sunset, which is one of the most beautiful times of day. The spa was also closed at random times during the day. The sauna was also not always working. The staff, although generally polite and courteous, was not always at a five star level, often giving contradicting answers (ie for when the spa or the bar will be open).

Hands down the best hotel I have ever been to - in either North America, South America, or Europe. The unique design of the Salt Hotel was something that you need to pay up for. The rooms were very cozy and it had a great view. Bolivia might not be known for its food, but the food at the hotel was incredible. The A la Carte was delicious and the chef prepared unique plates. The buffet was also delicious and the service was friendly. Ditto with the breakfast. The pool and spa were also extremely unique - it had incredible design and the view across the salt flats was absolutely mesmerizing. This is a must-stay.

Really hard to find something bad about the hotel, but organizing a shuttle from the airport wasn't as easy as I thought. Be sure to coordinate this in advance. This should not be a deterrent though.

What a place! If you want to wake up after sleeping in a salt-domed bedroom in a super comfy bed to a stunning sunrise, and then go and have a delicious breakfast, this is the place to stay! I was short on time and could only do a one day tour of the Salar, and this was such a great way to extend the experience to include night time views and enjoy the sunrise. The spa is open to 11pm which was so nice after a long day and a chilly sunset over the Salar. There’s a really toasty heated pool, jacuzzi, sauna and steam room.

Lunch/bar food was a bit basic - only a vegetarian club sandwich which wasn’t that tasty. Wi-Fi could be better!

Perfect location in the middle of town, superb staff, lovely and relaxing pool area with access to an amazing bar and good food all day long.

Was very surprised that room didn’t have air conditioning I would always just assume a room at this price would do so. There was some noise from building work which I would not have minded if they had warned me in advance but to be fair it was extremely well managed and not too annoying.

Well appointed with all amenities including a heated mattress! The staff was caring and prompt. The room was spacious with a good view. If we needed anything we made a call and they responded immediately. Great breakfast with many items to choose from. A welcome drink was a nice touch. And a free shuttle to the airport saved us a bundle.

They needed one master copy of the menu in English in the bar and restaurant or a few wait people that could speak English. There is a communication problem here. The poor guy in the bar needs more help. He is running around continuously and I mean running to take care of the customers. The $28.00 standard charge for lunch and dinner with only a few choices is ridiculous along with the hours of operation. We ate in the bar only. A little update would not hurt. It could use a coat of paint.

We spent two nights in this special, salt hotel. The common area, the spa and the pool (heated!) are amazing; the view (from both of these) spectacular. There is a fireplace in the lobby, which makes a great atmosphere when temperatures cool down in the evening. We appreciated the billiard table in the lobby and the nice restaurant; the breakfast is reasonable. The hotel offers a buffet dinner for USD 23, which we can recommend. Our rooms were fairly dark and small; there was no table or chair to put things on. The bathroom is outdated and definitely not up to the standard of a 5* hotel.

With regards to the rooms, value for money leaves a lot to be desired: size, brightness and cleanliness, as well as the bathroom are issues that most disturbed us.

This is definitely the best hotel in the area and also the best for access to the Salt Flats, your right next to it and don’t have to rely on transport to take you there. It’s a beautiful hotel with nice rooms and great service. You can walk onto the salt flats anytime of day or hire a bike from the hotel to go in further. The sunsets and sunrises are spectacular with amazing colours. Highly, highly recommended!!

The location, the room, the spa area, the theme of the hotel and the general vibe in the hotel. The property is a winner and we would love to come back here if they sort out a few very irritating issues.

Reception staff was a pain. They kept giving us information and then went back on it. Our lunch was included (in our tour package) which we shifted to dinner, on the staff’s recommendation, and then after dinner we had to fight with them to get it included (they wanted to charge us for it). The food for vegetarians is limited. We stayed there for 2 nights and had the same pasta for dinner on both nights. While settling the bill, they weren’t prepared with all our bills and literally came running after us 2 times with new bills. Very unprofessional behavior.
