The room was distinguished. Very high ceilings, Pompeii style panels, grisaille ceiling. An entrance hall. Beautifully lighted. It was the summer palace of a high official of the Kingdom of the Two Sicilies. Also, Salerno is a charming small city, just beyond the Neapolitan conurbation. Relatively few motorcycles. Strategically located halfway between Paestum (accessible by train) and Pompeii and Herculaneum; ask the manager to arranger a driver.

Nothing serious. There are stairs, if that troubles you. Breakfast is laid out but not served, and Americans may want to bone up on exotic European espresso making devices and milk frothers. Fine old rooms necessarily include small, cramped bathrooms.

The room was really large, had a great bed and bathroom and a great decor. The breakfast served to the room was good

Minor issue, there is a small bar across the road and we could hear the noise from it but it closed early enough to not interfere with our sleep

This was my second stay at this amazing spot in history. As the summer palace of the Marquis de Napoli with over 225 years of history, it is essentially a stay in a museum. Alexis and his assistants are extremely helpful, providing dinner and other entertainment suggestions, and the breakfast is an authentic selection of Italian eats. For this stay, I brought my family (again), my mother, aunts and an uncle for a very memorable family gathering in Salerno for a US Thanksgiving meal, as a part of a multi-week Italian visit. This a must-see if you enjoy history!

We had an incredible stay at this property! Everything was clean, and the experience was truly fantastic. The attention to detail in the decor was impressive, and the room was both cozy and beautifully designed. Breakfast was delicious, and Alexis’s hospitality made the stay even more special. I highly recommend this place for a comfortable and memorable getaway

I had a couple of minor issues during my stay. First, the shower water was freezing when I got in, so I recommend running the water for a few minutes beforehand. Also, there was an odd smell when we first arrived—though my friend didn’t notice it, so maybe I have a more sensitive nose—but it was gone by the next day. Other than that, the stay was amazing!

Many thanks to Alexis who made my stay very comfortable and enjoyable! My train was a little late and he met me, helped me with my luggage, gave me an iron and let me leave my bags in my room after my check out for a walk around the city. When I returned, he helped me with my heavy bags again and gave me cold water for my next trip to Furor. The interior of the suites is amazing! And breakfast room is very atmospheric. Breakfast is good (fruits, eggs, yogurts, cereal, coffee/tea, croissants, cheese ..) I chose an option to bring all to my room and enjoyed my breakfast in the bed. You can use the fridge and washer machine in the common area.

Only the pillows need to be replaced or added extra. I slept on two pillows coz they were very thin but I was OK with it. And just a note to the guests. My mistake was not booking a transfer from the hotel. Taxis only go to the main road and then you have to drag your suitcases along the paving stones, which is very hard - even 5 minutes! And all the more I do not recommend walking from the station with a suitcase, even if it takes 15 minutes. You will be OK if you only have a backpack! Also, keep in mind if you're going somewhere else and hire the transfer to another town - they are NOT eligible to come to this street where the suites are. Only residents can!

Breathing property - mix of historical charm and modern amenities. The rooms were grand with the greatest attention to detail. Location is perfect for those travelers wanting to have privacy but also be in the middle of the city. The breakfast was fresh, plentiful and very delicious. The host exceptionally warm and attentive. You can tell love and care were poured into the restoration of the property and in ensuring the experience was unforgettable to those that stay there.

Nothing.

I had a delightful stay at the old palace-themed hotel. Stepping into its medieval-themed ambiance was like entering a time capsule. The decor, from tapestries to chandeliers, was impressive. The staff was very friendly, and my room was very spacious with a good view. Particularly, the host was always willing to help out with recommendations on places to visit. The hotel blends history with modern comforts (such as modern toilets) seamlessly, making it a must-visit for history enthusiasts seeking a royal experience.

The breakfast could have more options, but you really don’t visit this place for their breakfast options.

The house and rooms are beautiful, and Angelo who we were communicating with about check-in and check-out was extremely helpful and very kind. The room was huge as well and the bed a super-king.

The location in the old town is fantastic, but given that there are bars and restaurants just downstairs it was quite noisy on a Friday night. These bars didn't close until after midnight and in addition someone's dog was howling most of the night. It's a wonderful place to stay, but do be sure to bring earplugs!

This boutique hotel was incredible and such a unique experience! The location was right in the heart of everything, but whisper quiet inside thanks to heavy double sets of doors onto the charming Juliette balconies from our suite. Alexis was so helpful: He came to find us when we got lost on arrival; he booked a beautiful restaurant for us and printed documents we needed to collect our hire car. Super host! Breakfast was plentiful - savoury and sweet and Alexis even had a liqueur in our room for a night cap free of charge. Where else can you live like a Marquis some 200 years ago while enjoying all the modern conveniences in the heart of Solerno.
