The hotel is right at the beach and they have a dedicated area for the guests of the hotel, just what we were looking for. The staff was extremely kind, at the reception and in the restaurant as well. We bought breakfast as well and it actually exceeded our expectations a lot. Every morning we got a cup of freshly pressed orange juice and as much coffee as we wanted, 4 little sweet rolls with butter and jam, and we could choose anything from the breakfast menu, which was plenty (chilaquiles with a lot of different toppings, scrambled eggs or omelettes with 3-4 different fillings and a side, pancakes, French toast, normal toasts, eggs Benedict, etc.). I was actually pretty sad that we couldn't have breakfast on the last morning, because we had to leave early to the airport. Our room had AC and a fan as well, even a mini fridge. The bathroom looked really lovely and the shower itself was huge. We could ask for cleaning without changing of the sheets, which I found very nice and a good step towards putting less negative impact on the environment. We did ask for cleaning, because of all the sand we brought into the room and we were not disappointed with the cleanliness. Another great thing my husband pointed out was that even though the hotel is close to the main avenue where there are plenty of bars and restaurants (two huge bars just on the corner) and the music is always loud, you cannot hear a thing in the room, or it's very, very quiet, so much that you only hear something when you actually pay attention. For someone like me, who needs a very quiet environment to be able to sleep, it was really awesome. And if we're at the location, it's worth mentioning that it's approximately 10 minutes by walking from the bus stop, and around 10-15 minutes from the ferry station.

The mini fridge in the room, however useful, it looked a bit old and my husband said he thinks it smelled weird. There were some stains on one of the sheets, but they didn't look like as if they were dirty, only as something that has been used for a while, and maybe there was some stain on it that does not want to come out, even after numerous washings. We got shampoo, shower gel and body lotion in the room, but they all come in tiny plastic bottles. I mentioned earlier that there is an option to ask for a cleaning, but not the changing of the bedsheets or the towels, which is great, and I think for the hotel it might be a nice step forward to use refillable bottles in the rooms instead of the tiny ones that just end up on the landfill.

The location is AMAZING! Very cute/aesthetic Beachfront property, right by 5th avenue and about a 7 min walk from parque fundadores , ferry to Cozumel and ADO Bus station. The breakfast we included in our booking by the beach in their restaurant was really good. They give you coffee, juice and you get to pick a dish from their selected menu. We had the chilaquiles with chicken and enchiladas suizas plus you get to enjoy the beautiful views as you eat.

The best part was the service at the restaurant. Cesar, Fernando, pablo, and Emilio were great. They exceeded themselves on giving us the best service. The food tasted great. The room was basic but clean. Location is perfect. Close to ferry, bus station and the famous 5ta Avenue.

The free breakfast choices were limited.

Large rooms with private access from yard, private and calm internal yard, private beach, good breakfast, restaurant inside the hotel. Extremely friendly and helpful front desk.

Room was not cleaned and garbage was not removed. Some of non-essential stuff was old and broken: one of power outlets, blinds rope, faucet dispenser. But it did not affect much our stay. Also there is no vehicle access to the hotel entrance: you need to walk about 200m from nearest point of access.

Staff at the fron desk is awesome. Very kind people (Azaleth y David). We also had a private balcony facing the garden which was very nice in the morning.

Very noisy room. There is a bar next to the hotel which has loudly music until late. Since the room (208) was above the reception, you can hear all the noise irrespectful guests make at any time. Despite the hotel has access to the beach, the beachfront is managed by different administration (restaurant) and they expect you to consume in order to make use of the facilities. Internet available only in common areas, is very poor and they have an issue between restaurant and reception networks because both have the same name but different passwords, so you have to forget every time, the network in order to connect properly.

Nice room close to the beach. Great restaurant close to the beach. Very helpful staff. Really pretty facility. rooms kept very clean.

Unfortunately the music they played was very loud and on from breakfast time to late evening.

Absolutely beautiful facility with a very natural garden vibe. Outside my room was small patio that was surrounded by giant palm trees and globe lights. Peaceful and serene. The gate to the beach is locked at night and so is the door on the street. There is a doorman there. I came down around 4:30 am to walk on the beach and had to gently wake the snoozing door man and in our half english half spanish conversation and a little charades I figured out he was trying to discourage me from the beach due to crabs. Instead I opted for a book from the pretty impressive collection in the lobby. I was in PDC in January and stayed at the hotel next door which is now out of business, I am so glad I came across this GEM!

My only complaint was that I had to leave!

Great location right on the beach, in the center of all the action, yet quiet. Great property design, feels very stylish and welcoming. Lots of character. Every room seems to have patio or balcony. Room was good size, with huge patio. Good value for the money in PdC. Very friendly staff. Overall would highly recommend it.

Few small improvements would go a long way to making this really excellent place to stay: 1. Blackout drapes in the room - with the room facing east it was hard to sleep in. 2. Umbrella on the patio to provide shade during the day. 3. Bigger/higher quality breakfast. Servings are little small, and having to pick mushrooms OR bacon on your omelette is a bit cheap. 4. Microwave in the room would have been nice.

It’s my second stay in a second visit to Playa. I knew all the issues they have, and still come. Yes, too many rules, too many people. But: 1. wifi works properly (not in the bath), 2. you have an opportunity to take the best chair at the beach with umbrella for free. 3. It’s safe (as anywhere in tourist places in Mexico nowadays) 4. Location is perfect, if you need ferry, bus station, Walmart, museum many other things are reachable within 10 mins 5. Aircon was working perfectly

1. Wifi could be better working in the bathroom, since all routers are in the garden. 2. I really wish all the hotels in Mexico had kettle, iron and hairdryer normally already in the room without asking. 3. The sea in front of the hotel is not very clean, rocky, and I wish it could be better.

Loved our stay here! Really good price-quality. Rooms very spacious, location perfect. Personnel really nice although some of them in the restaurant state 'propina no incluido' a bit too often. I always give tips so i don't need a reminder. Mexican breakfast (enchiladas etc) really good. American breakfast (eggs) can use a slice of bread with a side of frijolitos to make it a bit more filling. Complaints in other reviews are somewhat rediculous. Beach Beds are rented out to non guests however we almost always had a beachbed immediately and as a guest for free! Housekeeping ladies, reception personnel and also the restaurant personnel are great! Thanks for the hospitality!

Dont ask for propina, people will give it without reminder because the service is excellent. Thats the only complaint.
