I demand 6 minimum features in a hotel. Clean spacious room, comfortable bed, functioning bathroom, good WiFi, good AC, friendly competent staff. You can pay $500 a night and get all this or, as in this case $40. The only difference is how fancy it all is. La Belle Etoile deserves 5 stars for what it provides for the money. It is 4km from town but a Grab costs less than $1 and takes 10 minutes.

Nothing. Why are "facilities" rated low? Because there are none. No pool, no gym, no spa, no resto although you do get a very nice basic breakfast. I don't need them; if you do go to one of the resort hotels and pay their prices.

Loved this hotel, we arrived early before check in and they greeted us and took our bags then prepared our room within one hour while we waited with tea and coffee! They gave us a connection to hire a scooter for the day, and even prepared a packed breakfast for our day trip to Komodo island. Everything in the room was perfect, AC, comfy bed, big shower space and mosquito net. The breakfast was fresh and delicious and they give you the option to choose a fresh juice and what food you would like them to prepare for you. Banana pancakes were SO good! And upstairs where you eat is a beautiful open space with high ceilings and a view of the wildlife around you. So calm so relaxing, completely perfect short break.

Wonderful big room, well maintained, great mattress, quality mossie net, a quiet area and the best non-buffet breakfast I've had in Indonesia! Banana pancake so tasty, 👍 plunger coffee and a lot of condiments.The staff were very sweet, gentle, and helpful.

Some more information about where to eat locally, when I checked in. The receptionist only mentioned a warung. But...I found out you can cross the road to the two big resorts nearby. The cheaper one (Puri) has great reasonably priced food and you can use their pool ALL day for 100,000 rupiah. The posher one is great for a coffee or a sunset drink and, obviously, you pay more for food. But the setting is stunning.

Great property. Communication with the manager was great and he assisted in booking a one day tour of Komodo Island National Park for my friend and me. The staff was really friendly and helpful. They prepared a boxed breakfast for us on the day of our tour. The room was huge, clean and modern looking. It had a large shower and vanity area. It’s a short ride to/from the airport which the property will arrange for a small fee. It’s located just a short ride to the port and main street for tours, shopping, and dining. We used Grab scooters to get around and found them to be safe, convenient, and really inexpensive (and fun!). There are a couple of small markets within a five minute walk for water and snacks if needed.

The entire hotel is super clean. The room and the bathroom are very spacious (we could shower together and still there was plenty of space). The king-size bed has a nice, firm mattress and we have slept very well there. However, if light or noise bother you, bring a sleep mask and ear plugs, as the lights are on during the night on the shared terrace and the curtains do not fully block them, and the noise from the nearby gas station/ construction site starts around 6.30 am, if you don't count the Muslim prayer calls. We didn't mind it as we were anyway waking up early to go diving ;) Speaking of, the balcony is perfect for drying the equipment... The breakfast is generous - we have chosen the salty version, which consisted of scrambled eggs, toast, butter, peanut butter, strawberry jam, a hazelnut/cocoa spread, and a coconut/egg spread, plus a platter of fruits, a fresh mango juice (other options were available too), and coffee or tea. There is a kettle and instant coffee and tea in the room, should you feel the need for more :) They also have a beautiful garden, where you can enjoy a beer in the evening. The nearest place where you can eat is a 2-minute walk - Dave's café - and the food was very tasty there, but if you prefer eating in Labuan Bajo the taxi costs 100 k IDR for a one way trip. The beach is also within walking distance (5 minutes), but we only went there once, during low tide, and had to walk a lot before being able to swim. All in all a wonderful place, where we would gladly return anytime.

A lovely, unpretentious and super clean hotel. My room was big, the AC and the wifi worked fine. Toilet and bathroom are not covered by the AC, so it's outside temperature there. Bed was very comfy and also had mosquito net. The breakfast was really lovey. I would say it's great value for money. The staff was incredibly friendly. The receptionist recommended the nearby restaurant of the fancy Sudamala resort for dinner - and I concur: Excellent food and service at prices that are totally normal in Bali.

The location is a bit far from the center/port, but nothing a quick ride on a Grab motorcycle taxi for about 10k-15k IDR can't fix.

My family really enjoyed our time at La Belle Etoile Hotel. We prefered a location that's a bit further away from the town center and La Belle Etoile was just 5 minutes away from the town center by a motorbike. The location was quiet because it's a bit tucked away from the main road. The breakfast was amazing. It wasn't a buffet style. We ordered what we liked from the menu the night before and enjoyed it in the morning. The beach was within walking distance. The best of all was the beds! They were very comfortable. The pillows and bolsters were puffy! The rooms were clean and tidy. The staff was amazing, even the owner was very friendly and helpful. We actually asked to add a few more nights but they were at full capacity so we had to move to a different hotel. We will definitely go back, especially after we heard about the owner's plan to add a swimming pool!

Hôtel La Belle Etoile Is a wonderful hotel. It is a short distance from Labuan Bajo so a taxi or scooter is necessary. The Hôtel is a great base to visit Flores. The Hôtel provides a lovely breakfast. The Hôtel is very clean and comfortable. The Hôtel offers good value for money. The staff are incredibly kind and are happy to offer assistance in booking tours or transport. The beach is close by and the sunset is magnificent.

It is a short distance from Labuan Bajo

We are an Italian family, and we spent four days in la belle etoile : we enjoyed very much this time. The place is quiet and intimate, the rooms are comfortable and extremely clean. The staff is professionally kind and Andre was precious in helping us organising excursions and activities in the area. The structure is bit far from the city centre, but there's a walkable way to go there. We will remember the rich breakfast and the relaxing atmosphere: we recommend it very much!

It's a bit far from the city centre, but for us it wasn't a problem, we like that it's peaceful and quiet. In any case you can rent a scooter or order a Grab, so no problem!
