This is the first time I have stayed since the refurb. I had stayed many times over several years before closure. It has been very well upgraded, rooms and beds are very comfortable and the communal areas and gardens very well presented

I was amazed to be charged £10 additional charge for a check in around 1.30 pm (3pm published check in) when the room was ready. This is negligible to both myself and the hotel and seemed an unnecessary approach which might affect my decision to stay again despite everything else at the hotel being very good

This is a fabulous hotel set in lovely grounds. The terrace is large and looks out over the lakes. The spa is really nice and has a lovely warm pool, hot tub, steam room and sauna. The bar area is lovely, old panelled walls and has a wonderful ceiling. A nice airy restaurant and the breakfast was plentiful and good quality. The rooms have nice firm beds, feather pillows are very clean and airy. The bathrooms have nice toiletries and big fluffy towels. .

The only thing that was a bit annoying was on the info sheet in the room it said the spa was open till 8pm on Sunday. It actually closed at 6pm. But that is a minor issue that can be fixed easily.

Full of character; the young lady who checked us in was really friendly and helpful, as were all the staff we encountered. Fantastic value for money. Room was well equipped. Bed was comfy. We would love to come back.

the room was very hot - there was even a portable fan in the room in October so I suspect this is an ongoing issue. We mentioned it on leaving and the staff were very helpful and keen to see if they could improve it. They offered us another room for next time if we preferred and to show us it today but we didn't have time. Literally everything else was wonderful and we loved our stay.

Food was amazing , rooms very big and roomy and comfortable .. even though only 2 degrees outside the rooms were always warm even with window open for fresh air all night. The building had so much charm and character , the pool and spa were very nice and steam rooms very hot ... great hearing stories of the history of the place and stories that added to an amazing stay ...Staff were all very helpful and always greeted with a hello and smile ...dining rooms were set up so well with big comfortable chairs loved our stay wished was longer

On arrival we were able to leave the car in the car park even though we were too early to check in. We were there to watch one of the Hundred cricket matches so left straightaway to walk to the ground. When we returned at around 10 pm we checked in to our room on the second floor but were disappointed to find that the lift wasn't working. However the room was a good size and was very comfortable. There was a very good breakfast in the morning. At all times the staff were friendly and attentive and we enjoyed our stay

The lift wasn't working and the spa was being refurbished. However the pool was available for use be we were not informed of this until we checked in.

Booked Botleigh Grange for an overnight stay before boarding our cruise ship the next day. It was more relaxed to travel down to Southampton the day before and the hotel is ideally situated about 25 mins to the docks. The hotel is in very nice grounds set back from the road and there is lots of safe parking. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was buffet style with a good choice of food. After checking out of our room we were able to make use of the lounge and grounds before leaving for our check in time at the docks. We were very impressed with the hotel and will book again to stay overnight next year for our next cruise.

Nothing at all

Hotel was convenient to walk to The Rose Bowl, about 35 minutes. Room we had was a lovely size and looked as if it had been freshly refurbished as well as the bathroom. Breakfast was very good. Staff very friendly, helpful and polite. Would definitely stay there again if we need to.

Slight delay with a queue for checking in, at 3.00pm, due to the number of people staying there for the cricket match. Some people had to wait for their room to be made available. We were lucky, ours was ready. Letter under door with apologies for delay when checking in, but not a problem really for us.

We stayed two nights, the first cooked breakfast was to order, the second cooked breakfast was a buffet. Both had good choices and the food was well cooked and hot. There was also a good selection of fruit, cereal, yoghurts, pastries, etc etc The shower was surprisingly powerful and consistent for a basic over the bath one and the room was a good size with a super king size bed although we were staying in one of the suites. We thought the price was very reasonable for the room.

The crockery and some of the continental choices at breakfast could have been replenished slightly more quickly but the staff responded well and quickly when shortages were pointed out.

Nice big room, comfortable bed and good bathroom, fan on and window opened when we entered room which was good as very hot day.

No hair dryer provided, no welcome pack to tell you what time breakfast was etc. Or the local amenities. No WiFi

The breakfast started to cool as soon as it hit the plate. By the time I got to the last few morsels, it was cold. Didn't like the texture of the sausages, and they tasted slightly to spicy for my liking. In the bar area during the evening I found the music playing in the background was not conducive to the building, and was certainly not relaxing. After Bohemian rhapsody I was treated to; Smells like teen spirit, by Nirvana which, although a great song, it did nothing to relax me over a drink.
