The room, bathroom, as well as the bed were comfortable and clean. Staff were welcoming and helpful throughout our 2 day stay. The public house area was popular and lively, without being intrusive, or too loud. I was able to feel relaxed, and would have felt the same if I had been there on my own. Breakfast was value for money with decent choice of cereals/yoghurt and/or choice of nicely cooked, then served, hot meals. Check out time was 11am, which is useful if the day before has been 'full on'.

I would have liked a chair or stool to sit on, rather than the bed, once I had 'dressed up' to go out. The room probably didn't have room for a chair, but maybe a stool? The room was spacious enough to be comfortable to move about without getting in each other's way. I would be happy to go back and probably will, when I visit my family again.

A lovely welcome when we arrived, Joe behind the bar booked us in and showed us our room which was at the back of the pub lovely and quiet. He even asked us did we have any luggage he could carry. Room was lovely and comfortable, nice to see a fan in the room as it was a hot day. Breakfast was lovely, cereal, yogurts, toast and a good selection on the breakfast menu. Again Joe was on duty who we found that nothing was to much trouble for him, well done. A busy pub but we managed to park. This is the second time we have stayed here.

Not good reception for TV. Only BBC channels

we have stayed here many times when visiting family as they live close by. Netley is a beautiful village with the Royal Victoria Country Park and seafront on the Hotel's doorstep. Also the food is lovely and we have had lots of family celebrations there too. Lovely English breakfast. We stayed 2 nights and the second day our room was re-freshed and the bed made. If you are wanting to stay because visiting Soutgampton then I would say it is further out and you would need a car. The village of Hamble is not too far away and worth a visit. The buses are quite infrequent but they do take you into the heart of Southampton. It is an all round lovely place.

The rooms are in a separate annexe at the back of the bar and restaurant.. For us it is not a problem but for some it could be especially if the weather was bad. It doesn't bother us as'it's just a minute walk along a path to the rooms. Obviously if yoh are not ising the bar/restaurant then its not an issue anyway. The rooms are very basic but had everything we needed i.e clean towels, shampoo and body wash, hairdryer, tea, biscuits, coffee, bottles of water and electric heating that we could control ourselves.

Excellent breakfast. A second cup of coffee was happily supplied ! Our beds were very comfortable. We were impressed with the beautiful restoration of the Victorian building. Our room was spotlessly clean. The rooms were in a separate quiet annex with a small garden area. The tea and coffee supplies were excellent including de caffeinated coffee. Bottled water was also supplied with delightful unusually shaped real glass glasses.

Our bathroom door was difficult to open ! Catch needs adjustment. Odd shaped room.

Lovely friendly staff both at check in and breakfast! Plenty of room to park in the pub carpark. Rooms located in a separate building to the rear of the pub so no noise or anything, we did stay midweek though. Had the family room so maybe bigger than the other rooms, plenty of space and contained everything you could possibly need. Loads of teas, coffees, hairdryer, fan, ironing board, TV etc. Bathroom compact but good size shower cubicle and good water pressure. Bed really comfy and cosy, we had a great nights sleep! Everything was very clean throughout too. The best part of our stay was breakfast, absolutely delicious! Would come back just for that.

Excellent evening meal (very good price) after a great sleep a hearty breakfast to set you up for the day. We were going on a cruise and had some time to kill, Karen the owner suggested a walk round a nearby country park what a joy that was simply beautiful full of history would definitely recommend a visit if in the area. We would definitely stay at The Prince Consort again if ever in Southampton all the staff were excellent many thanks.

Staff friendly and efficient. Rooms spotlessly clean and well equipped. There was even a small ironing board! Lots of supplies to make hot drinks in your room including coffee, tea and delicious hot chocolate. There was also bottles of still and sparkling water as well as a good selection of biscuits. We had an evening meal there which was delicious. and we also had an excellent breakfast in the morning. Both were good value for money. The car parking is very easy, being right next door to the pub and it is situated a short walk form the estuary and Victoria Park

Nothing really.

I'll keep this short but enough to fill in the green bar so the review counts. On first visit/inspection you might not think much but it'll surprise you. The staff are real people and friendly and good at their jobs, the food is the best I've had in months and some of the best I've had travelling ever and the rooms are extremely good.

The desk for use with a laptop was a bit small and could have been a little sturdier, but it did the job. The heater in room 1, where I stayed, was up the wall so it took me a while to find it.

Location is excellent for viewing boats coming into Southampton and for dog walking round Netley. Staff were helpful and friendly although very busy. Seemed to be one person behind the bar and one taking meal orders, waiting and then clearing tables. Despite being busy they were very efficient. We like the fact they welcome dogs and don't charge extra. The room although small was very clean which is a huge plus.

Been before and had a lovely room. This time we had one which was very cramped and the en suite was small . Good shower but could have had more access to the toilet.

Very good choice of cereals, full breakfast was very good. Only minor issue , you had to pay more for an extra cuppa. Not a problem at all. The location is superb , from the village is coastal paths with Nettley Abbey very close by. Really good location, a little further past the prince consort is Victoria Park with history attached to it , just wonderful, perfect for a good walk. We were going on a cruise ship the day after and it was amazing to see the cruise liners in port and to go past us. They state the rooms are compact, but facilities in the room are very good.
