Fordoun is truly magical. As always, I love the atmosphere and the energy of this very special place. Peaceful, tranquil, warm, serene. The restaurant is spectacular and the friendliest staff that go out of their way to ensure you are well taken care of, making this the perfect home away from home. Can't wait to go back again! Fordoun is my favourite destination.

Fordoun Hotel and spa provides a picturesque setting with an exceptional spa, making the visit truly memorable. The staff were friendly and helpful, adding to the overall enjoyment of the stay. This is definitely a destination I look forward to returning to.

We loved the peace and quiet, the fresh air and the beautiful scenery. I enjoyed the early morning fly fishing (No. 08 Olive Red-Eyed Damsel FTW) and close-up otter sighting very much. But most of all, we enjoyed the food and the proper rest and relaxation. 10/10 for the dinners. The bed was very comfortable and linen was clean and crisp. I enjoyed the short stories which were delivered to the room by the bedtime turndown service. I beleive the spa treatment was great..., my Fiancee fell alseep during the head, neck and shoulders message ;)

Previously arranged early book-in was not possible due to previous guests leaving later than expected, We were however made to feel at home in the lounge and bar area, while we waited. The carpet in the room could have been cleaner. Perhaps a good wet carpet wash will do the trick. We found somebody elses toe nail clipping on the carpet beside the bed, after stepping on this. Curtains looked untidy and needed to be hooked back on the rail.

The reception was very warm. The room was spacious and had all that we expected from a five star hotel. The tea desk had all the tea and coffee varieties and would be filled up every-time. The breakfast was excellent. Dinner as well was super, Leslie made sure we were treated as King and Queen. The staff is well-trained, from the gardener outside to the receptionist inside. I enjoyed the bed being made up and ready for sleep every night, and the story pamphlet to read before sleep was all amazing. I give five star to the spa. A very pleasant treatment by Sindy who has magical hands. Book in advance as the spa is always full. Everything in the spa was perfect. The facilities in the spa were above our expectations.

The curtains in the room were very light, pitch black effect on curtains is more appreciated. I couldn't sleep well because of the light coming through the curtains at night. The bed wasn't that comfortable too, it was too hard for me. Charging ports on each side of the bed would be appreciated as there was none except in the desk. At dinner, there is no choice on the menu for chicken (my favourite) except for chicken burger.

Not my first time at Fordoun, but possibly the best. the food was excellent and really more than ample portions. All staff very professional and friendly. Best massage given by Cindy! She has magical hands! Also had a wonderful and blessed session with Traditional Dr Ndlovu!

Nothing. The only two niggles were that it was a Discovery Vitality check up day at the spa the day I was there, and there was one man part of it that was very loud. I really don’t want to hear about Andrew and his children’s passports and why he needs to come later. So I left your blissful tea room and went and sat somewhere else whilst waiting for my massage. And the internet was not operational in our room, but a technician was sent the next afternoon and he located and fixed the problem. Thanks for that!

The hotel is conveniently located and its pristine grounds are in a tranquil, beautiful environment. The spa is really lovely. The staff and spa treatments are excellent. Meals were good. Fabulous coffee and amenities in the room.

The price for room and breakfast was high and when I tried to do a price comparison claim on booking.com, I was pretty much dismissed, even though there was a much lower quote on another booking site. So, travelers may want to compare themselves before trusting a single booking site to quote the lowest.

A well located hotel in a gorgeously peaceful, pretty and serene setting. Lovely big rooms and bathrooms. Every single staff member was exceptionally friendly and helpful. Tasty breakfasts.

Would expect a daily complimentary bottle of mineral water per person in the bedrooms for a hotel of this caliber and the pillows were exceptionally soft. Minor small details.

Lovely hotel with the most amazing staff! Excellent breakfast which was included. The paid for dinner was absolutely exceptional in part due to meticulous, friendly service from the waitress under the watchful eye of a world class maitre d. Beautiful sounds with a lovely dam. Underfloor heating in the bathroom was an amazing touch in the cooler weather. All in all a fantastic stay!

The shower is small with a very low head. Minor irritation and the only improvement that I think needs attention. Didn't detract from the amazing overall experience though.

Breakfast selections were amazing. Our car was washed and polished before we left. A wonderful surprise! Rooms were luxurious and beautifully spaced out.

The pool at the tennis court was still dirty from a function the day before at 9:30am. There were no towels for the patrons and the loungers were dirty. For a 5 star establishment we expected better burgers and fries.

Heated swimming pool, clean and functional 2 bedroom chalet is comfortable to stay. The place also situated in a beautiful surrounding
