Ideal location on the high street, rooms at the back so very quiet. Rooms large and clean. We had 2 dogs so chose a garden room as it had doors out into a grassed court area shared with the other garden rooms. It was ideal for us and the dogs. Plenty of space in the room to put the dog crates and still be able to walk around. Would definitely stay there again.

Breakfast was a little slow and even though we went in at 08:30, several of the continental items (pastries) had run out, plates for toast etc had to be asked for, also hot water and bread for toast. I think all of this was due to only 1 staff member being on duty in the dining room and there being quite a few in for breakfast between 08:00-08:30. The lady herself was very polite and doing her best but it required 2 members of staff waiting on in the dining room at breakfast time.

Location. Room was nice and bed comfy. Shower was powerful, but too hot, couldn't seem to get it to be any cooler.

Breakfast was terrible, only 2 girls serving lots of guests, very busy and chaotic. Husband asked for vegi Breakfast and were told no vegi sausages, ok but he could have extra egg. His Breakfast came with 1 egg, nothing extra, except a meat sausage, when we queried it, waitress apologized and asked for my napkin to remove it! I just put it on my plate and husband was ok. But beans cold and was very poor. They couldn't cope with the amount of guests as there had been a wedding the night before.

The staff were good and very helpful. The lady running the bar deserves and extra special mention. Our room was on the upper floor and in the original part of the hotel, so nothing is level including the floor! The room was well equipped and the bed was comfortable. The shower was large and the water hot. Breakfast was well presented and good quality. The Spread Eagle is in the centre of Thame and close to the main bus stops and car parks. There is a pay and display car park at the rear of the hotel. The cost is £5 for 24 hours.

Sadly the hotel is beginning to look tired and quite a lot of maintenance work is needed. Although our room was clean the paint around the window was very old and peeling and some of the wall paper not in the best condition.

Parking on site good. Check in good. Incl. taking car reg no for parking. Room good size and clean with adequate hanging for clothes. Shower ok. Tea/coffee and biscuits provided. Ground floor room was close to the dinner and breakfast and not noisy. Good size TV. Food for the County Dinner was good in quality with a lovely piece of salmon but could have been hotter. Local high street and shops a very short walk away.

Hot water took a long time to come to the hand basin although not to the shower. One of the shower fittings was broken and one bedside light did not come on. The bed was big but a little on the firm side for us.

I've booked many times now for my father-in-law, as we live locally. He's had fantastic rooms (garden view with A HUGE bed are favourite), and has always thoroughly enjoyed the breakfast! Although I may book myself in one day - he always has a room with a bath - we only have shower facilities so a bath is a very much sort after luxury!!!

The fluctuation in prices. For the same room I've paid a varying amount of around £25 to £30, which doesn't sound a lot but due to convenience I have booked quite often so far this year. I can't really criticise the popularity of the hotel, but a few times I've not been able to book 1 or 2 days ahead. It's annoying as you the only decent hotel nearby.

Room was fab, and the bathroom was spacious with a nice bath.

The restaurant and bar were closed for a private fuction on the night of our stay. This seems a little unfair as we had no prior notification of this and so the booking was made with the hotel advertising such facilities. Therefore I can't help but feel a bit miffed that no part of the bar or restaurant area was kept for residents, or that we had not been informed when booking.

great location for my needs. surprisingly quiet despite being on a main road. it’s a lovely old building with plenty of character. it is a bit tired, but you can see they have tried to make it high end with the decor and furniture. staff are all lovely, super helpful and friendly. decent breakfast with good coffee and friendly service.

I’m always irritated when I ask reception to book a cab and they hand me a card and ask me to do it myself. but that’s a minor quibble.

Great staff, good room, good bed, easy access to the hotel car park. Breakfast easily available in morning. Evening meal on Thursday was good. Dogs made welcome.

Would have been better if breakfast started at 0700 on Saturday and Sunday. Noisy people passing room outside on Saturday night, suspect people taking a shortcut rather than guests. Bathroom, especially shower, needs a bit of an upgrade.

The staff were great we ordered room service because of an issue my husband has with eating. Most morning were great just the odd hiccup with the service, however the over all stay was comfortable and staff very friendly.

Outside tables were little neglected but understably it's difficult when birds are around the walled gardens, maybe just a weekly check as to the table outside in the garden rooms. However thus was yhe only minor fault I could find.
