Upon arrival, the staff were extremely helpful and welcoming. Big shout out to Alex. He was a gentleman. The location was brilliant, right beside the postcard ‘typical’ houses of Santana. There is a big supermarket just down the road too and local bars and cafes with reasonable prices. We found it to be the perfect hub for exploring Madeira. There is lots of parking available with a nearby underground car park too. The breakfast was wonderful and always set the day off to a great start. The cleaning was every second day and they would give us fresh towels and toiletries which was a nice touch. I would certainly stay here again.

We visited the place in November and it was quite cold in the evening - the heating was on and it was amazing! Room was comfortable, bathroom was big, there was a place to dry wet clothes outside. Window with ocean view. The staff is very nice and they speak perfect English!

Breakfast was not very diverse, coffee was good though. There is no dedicated parking spot for the guests and there is a chance you will have to park on a very steep street, it was pretty hard for us as not locals :)

The location is close to bus stop You can get the bus number 103 for 138 to Funchal There are good walks around but you need a taxi to get there You can walk to cable cars 🚠 which offers fantastic views of waterfalls and once you get down there is a short walk which I recommend

Great for a short stay! I stayed here back in April and couldn’t not fault the helpful hospitality of Filipe and staff. As a solo traveller - I found the help from Filipe invaluable. Be really does make your stay wonderful, offering taxi services to and from Pico Ruivo as well as a 4am taxi to get back to the airport for my flight home to include a ‘take away breakfast’. The accommodation is basic, but has everything you need. Thank you for your lovely service.

The only thing I would have preferred is for the room to be more warm, I found it quite cold and heating was on a set time that did not come on when I was cold. But for 3 days, this is okay to live with and I didn’t mention this to staff due to my short stay. I’m sure they would have changed things if I asked 😊 I found the location (for me) a little too quiet but again, for 3 days around hiking, it’s not a big deal.

The room was clean. The hotel itself is nice. Owner was very helpful and friendly, adviced, what to visit nearby and where to eat. The room size was very small, but it was not a problem for us. Every morning we were awakened by the crowing of cocks in Santana, which was so nice to me! :D Well placed base for hiking and in general well placed logistically. Great snack bar close to the hotel - Adega do Compadre!

Breakfasts were ok, but very little differentiated.

We had a spacious studio apartment on the top floor. Nice view, well equipped kitchen, simple but delicious breakfast served in a nice room on the ground floor. Staff very nice and friendly. In the centre of Santana and very close to a few restaurants and a big Continente supermarket. On-street parking in front of the apartment.

Wifi a little bit weak in our room.

Great location on the island. Clean room, fresh towels, pleasant staff, and we had a great view of the mountains from our window. They had everything we asked for and more. We even washed and dried our clothes there There are plenty of parking places, shops, parks, farmacy, cafés and restaurants around and you can easily walk everywhere in Santana. Felt like home, definitely coming back. Thanks for everything ♡

- On day we left we asked for a breakfast package to take at least something since we did not have time to have it in morning. We got sandwich with one slice of ham and cheese with no butter. They could have been a bit more generous and caring in this sense. I have stayed in many places where our breakfast package was much more elaborated. - breakfast just between 8 - 9:00. Wider range would be more convenient.

Rooms were pretty older but everything was clean and comfy. Also very good price for accommodation with breakfast.

We were pretty disappointed by part of stuff. During breakfast we mostly had present the girl who was really nice but sometimes there were someone who was reluctant (also offered us picnic which were just juice and bread with one slice of cheese and one of ham without butter or anything else)

The apartment was modern, spacious, and very clean. The kitchen was well equipped, the bed and the couch comfortable, and the Wi-Fi worked well. Plenty hot water in the shower. The apartment was as described and shown in the photos on Booking.com, and the location was good: in the centre of Santana, free parking close by and short distance to the Continente supermarket. The breakfast was included in our room rate and it was very good (fruit, bread, ham, cheese, cereal, good coffee, cake). Easy check-in and check-out, friendly staff. Very good value for money.
