The room was very clean and smelled very nice. It was a small twin room but it was cozy. We appreciated having shampoo and conditioner provided and a good radiator which allowed us to warm up the room to a very comfortable temperature. The room does not have many amenities but there is a common lounge room with hot water, coffee, tea and a big fridge which are provided to all guests. Continental breakfast was served in the hotel's restaurant. It was simple but good, especially the warm bread and cakes. The staff were nice and the check-in / check out process was very easy. The hotel is located right by the main road which makes it very convenient for an overnight stay.

The room was a bit small for the price paid, but I would still recommend this hotel.

Stayed here for only one night but was incredibly pleased with all aspects! Very easy to get to, our room was small but clean and even had some shampoo/conditioner and body wash. There was a TV but we didn't use it. The food was SPECTACULAR!! My husband and I were delighted with our choices, and I have Celiac Disease and the waitress was knowledgeable and asked her boss about dishes I could have. I had the chicken with mushroom sauce and then later for dinner the lamb soup which was a clear broth and some gluten free crackers. We booked this to be closer to our rafting trip and I am so glad we did. Very thankful for the service, food, and cost atmosphere. When we eventually come back to Iceland we will definitely stop here again!

I honestly had no issues with the property or my stay.

When pulling up to the building we were unsure of what we got ourselves into. We were pleasantly surprised when we walked in the restaurant door to find a room filled with people eating and enjoying themselves. We went to the reception area of the counter and checked in to our rooms, gathered our things and headed up to our rooms. When walking up the stairs there is a sitting area with games, tea, and a refrigerator to store items if needed. The sitting area has a huge picture window with an amazing view of a farm with mountains behind it. The rooms have been updated with a new floor, fresh paint and decor. The mattresses are comfortable, new and clean, the mattress has a clean mattress cover and fresh clean sheets and duvet. The bathroom is smaller, but very clean with shampoo and soap. Make reservation is you plan to eat in the restaurant, it gets very busy. The food is very good and the staff is so kind. We enjoyed the breadsticks, chicken salad and lamb chops. I would highly recommend this location if you need a stop between the two cities.

Good location at a natural rest night point on the ring road. Staff is very friendly, food is good and hearty, rooms are basic but clean and comfortable. Nice common lounge for the rooms with a refrigerator and hot water boiler.

The back rooms get some smells from the kitchen and some noise from the kitchen ventilation but clears quickly with the window open.

Perfect place to stop on the ring road. The rooms are fairly basic, but perfect for my needs as a solo traveller. The restaurant is also a hit in the middle of nowhere - as evidenced by the amount of local folk and truckers who cane in to eat.

Nothing! People who like their creature comforts and fancy hotels may want to stop elsewhere, but for everyone else this is perfect.

Brilliant road side hotel, we were lucky to be there on a Thursday night as the special is fillet steak, and hubby ordered this and gave it a whopping 8/10 (he is very stingy, that is the best score I have ever known him give!!). Breakfast was also great, this was a fabulous place to stay over.

The restaurant was busy, if you did not book a table then you would have to wait a while, but we asked and booked our table when we checked in - highly recommend that you do this.

I test the internet speeds whenever I arrive at a room, and could not believe my eyes how FAST IT WAS. Over 100MBps!!! You would never need to threat a connection dropout despite its slightly remote location. Perfectly accessible by car (we were on a road trip, and this was a well-situated stopping point). Ample parking at the front. The restaurant below had a lively atmosphere when we arrived during the evening. We did not eat there, but judging by the previous reviews and what we saw, I'm sure it lives up to the reputation 😋 Great effort had been made to make the interior rooms look fresher than the exterior appearance. It is a basic setup (bed, light, shower) but is manageable for a short stay. The lounge has ample coffee cups, sachets, tea and hot water at your disposal. There is even a big fridge you can store cold items if needed (note this is shared, so at your own risk!)

No available on-site breakfast as the restaurant is closed until 11am. However, the hosts can organise a takeaway box for 1,500 Kr which works out cheaper than booking with your room. Alternatively, there is a major N1 petrol station in Staðarskáli just 30 minutes drive away towards Reykjavík which has microwave facilities, coffee and snacks.

Breakfast and dinner was very good and complete. Lots of options. Very nice to have the option to cool your own stuff in the fridge. Easy check-in ease check out by dropping the key in the letterbox. Clean and quite modern interior of the rooms.

Maybe some instructions for checking out would be helpful. Otherwise it was very clear how to check out. Bathroom air ventilation is a bit noisy. Can be heard from neighbor rooms.

Great hotel and restaurant. Absolutely love how it looks run-down from the outside, but when you step in, it’s warm, cosy and very inviting. Interior is great in the restaurant, bar and rooms. Great staff too! Definitely try their Icelandic Lamb Soup that comes with Sourdough and Date butter, the butter is heavenly 👌🏽 And how lovely, they packed a brekky to go, in the morning for us ❤️ Shared kitchen had a big fridge, hot water, tea and coffee available.

Easily accessible on the highway, perfect after a long distance drive. Restaurant is good, staff are lovely and good value for money

The curtains that don’t block out the midnight sun and as you’re on the highway you’ll hear traffic throughout the night which can’t be helped from the location
