The location of the cottages is amazing. Set above the town and spaced out enough to retain privacy. We were worried we would be cold but the radiator was more than enough to keep us warm in the cold weather. Very cute and cosy inside. Plenty of appliances to easily self cater. But be prepared for limited store opening hours if you arrive without provisions! We would definitely stay again, ensuring we were properly prepared.

There were appliances provided such as a kettle however, no tea or coffee. We understood that this was a self catering accommodation but the only shop in town has limited opening hours (closed at 2pm on a Saturday during low season) so we were unable to buy any. Perhaps some tea and coffee could be provided with information on the store opening hours?

As usual, wonderful cottage, refubished and a bit renovated (well, it's the 6th time we stay at hvammstangi cottages, and they're always great)! Plenty of space inside, cottage and bathroom spotless clean, nice kitchen, microwave and lot of pots , pans and dishware. Nice sofabed (we use it as sofa, and very comfortable for 3 adults). Smart-TV, nice bunk-bed (two people under and one above, but very comfortable nonetheless). Best thing? northen lights! it was our 4th time during autumn-winter and we always were lucky to see them! this time as well. No artificial lights aroud, just nature and its wonderful magic! 20 minutes drive and you could see seals in their natural enviroment, so lovely!! definitely we'll be back! thank you so much again!!

everything was perfect!

We loved everything about this cabin. Unfortunately, due to a change in weather and road closures, we had to pack up a day earlier than planned. The owner ( I presume) dropped the children off some sledges and they had so much fun before we left! I certainly want to come back and I would stay in again. We are a family of 5, 2 adults, 3 children and was perfect size and location for us. (Sorry, we left in such a hurry- we realised we left some meat in the fridge! Bacon/ burgers)

Well equipped cabin - we stayed in several like it, and this was the best equipped. Nice and quiet part of town, and very convenient stop on the Ring Road on the way towards Akureyri. Great spot for viewing the northern lights, which put on a wonderful show for us. Good TV and beds certainly adequate for our stay, despite the below...

...my wife and I are not small and fitting two of us into the closed-in double bed was a challenge which led to me sleeping on the couch for much of the night. Happily, this was comfortable! Signs saying "do not park on the grass" - we couldn't tell what was grass, ice and snow covered everything so it was a little unclear where to drive or where to park. We hope we got it right!

Cute, warm log cabin. We arrived during a storm and it was very windy up on the hill so were very grateful for shelter! The kitchenette was small and basic, with most things you need to cook a meal. Not a lot of room to move inside with 4 people but we were only there to sleep and eat so was ok. The view across the mountains was beautiful in the morning after the storm.

The "double" bed was quite narrow. My husband and I are average-sized and found it a bit squashed. Communication with host was ok, had to chase up the lock box code.

We loved the location and the view! It was perfect for one night going around the country.

We wish that we could have gotten the cottage a little darker. The front door shade was pretty tattered. In addition, we were worried about using the microwave because the cord look like it had burn marks. when we arrived, the curtains were completely open. The direct sun light was coming in and it was quite warm. It took a while to get cooled down, and we had to turn off the radiators.

Super cute cottages next to a horse farm with beautiful views. It has a microwave and hot plate, stocked with pans/utensils. You could technically fit four people (two in the bottom bunk double bed, one in the top bunk twin, and one on the pull out couch), but it would be very, very snug. Our group of four split into two cottages and were comfortable (especially since it was the last day of a 10 day trip, and more space was appreciated). Check in was flexible with access to the cottage via the lock box whenever we arrived. This was an excellent choice for the price and I'd stay here again!

Loved this little cabin - It was like a quirky home away from home. I wasn't hopeful that i'd see the northern lights this time of year but I did! The cabins are perfectly situated away from the town. Lovely, quiet location. The rooms were clean, comfortable and warm. It had all the ammenities and more that we would have needed. We loved everything about it!

The water produced by the shower did not drain quick enough. This meant that the bathroom overflowed when the shower was used. it left behind a lingering damp smell. Had to clean this up each time we used it.

Super cute cottage, with beautiful views of the sunset. The cottage itself was so cute! Easy check-in. I loved that they offered an earlier check-in time, 2 pm, and a later check-out time at noon. The cottage was cozy, with comfortable beds.

No basic cooking supplies. Oil, salt/pepper, coffee/tea

We spend such a cozy night in this cottage, the bunk bed was amazingly comfortable. The kitchen had everything we needed for cooking. The cottage was overall very clean. Would definitely return!

As others have said: the bathroom is a bit problematic, as it fills up with water after a shower. Maybe shower before leaving :-)
