Nice and friendly staff (not english speaking but made use of translation apps) who let me wait when I arrived early and waiting for a night bus after check out. The hostel is very well located close to the main square within short walk of all the main sights. It feels very safe with a key issues to guests for the front door. The reception area has free coffee, water, biscuits and fruits for breakfast. The room was well appointed with hot water and wifi. Lovely roof terrace for relaxing in the evening too.
You could hear noise in the rooms from other guests rooms/corridor so can be noisy depending on other guests.

Nice big room which actually had some wardrobe and other options to put your stuff. Nice roof terrace.
The windows don't actually go outside but to a vertical shaft so there's limited light in the room. There was some problem with the tap in the bathroom sink. Just a side note: This may be called a hostal, and it does have a shared roof terrace but if you're looking for the traditional hostel community feeling where people get together this isn't the place.

Nordes exceeded my expectations. The staff were polite and eager to help with anything I asked, even with my non-fluent Spanish skills. The terrace was a daily joy. Great place to sunbathe, mingle with other guests, or watch the sunset. Water, coffee, and cookies in the cozy lobby all day! Be sure to ask for a fan for your room, it really helps! There are awesome eateries nearby. May I particularly recommend Cafe Alex and Restaurante Coronita for proper spots just around the corner from hotel. There's also a cute little pizza/calzone place just down the street. The Zocalo is just 2 blocks away. They also arranged a taxi to take me to Monte Alban, it's a must-see.

The location is good near Zócalo, two markets. Value of money. They provide free drinking water.
On the first floor rooms, if someone speaks at front desk you may hear the sound.

Good value, simple accommodation. Close to the center, without being loud in the evenings. Very clean, good hot showers, strong internet / wifi. Water/Coffee are provided for free a few times a day, which was helpful when coming home late. Staff were friendly, and the space felt secure since entry required a key or for you to be a guest at night.
No hand towel provided. Pillows were fairly flat, and the bed could be a bit uncomfortable on hot nights when there was no breeze. A mini-fridge would have been useful. The knocker you need to use overnight when the hotel is locked was too far for me to reach and i just had to manually knock on the door instead.

The price point was exceptional for what one received. I had a roomy one bedroom suite with a comfortable bed, private bath in a great location. The manager or owner was a real sweetheart who spoke excellent English. The Wi-Fi was excellent and better than I am currently receiving in a much more expensive hotel.
I had an interior room but I always seem to get that in Mexico, given my budget. no big deal!

-1pm check-in by default is awesome. -Friendly staff -Accepts credit card payments at the front desk -Water available in the lobby -Very nice rooftop terrace -Great WiFi -Amazing central location -physical/mechanical room keys are less convenient than electronic locks. -10/10 cleanliness
-No bedside lamp -Limited electric outlets (only 1 in the room and 1 in the bathroom) -No kitchen facilities or fridge -Bed comforter is the type that is typically not washed between guests (often too large to launder easily, unlike washable duvet covers).

Great location near the central plaza. Room and bathroom are both good sized with a closet for clothes storage. The hotel is quiet, bed was comfortable and had sufficient bedding for the chilly nights. Hotel is nicely renovated, clean and well kept with a great rooftop terrace. All of the Staff was always very helpful and friendly. The entire staff is very security conscious and control entry to the building. Javier gave me some excellent recommendations for getting around town and for the local area for seeing various sights. Coffee, bottled water and biscuits are available at the front reception area. No fan or AC but was able to keep the room very comfortable using the windows that open to ventilation shafts.
I did not have any negative experiences staying at the Nordes.

The room was spacious and clean. It was also quite cool , especially important as it was a heatwave. The roof terrace was beautiful, especially in the evening once the sun had gone down. The staff, apart from one, were really helpful and friendly. I also really appreciated the coffee and water available at reception in the mornings.
The windows of the room only opened out on to a tiny little courtyard space - this made the room quite noisy at night as the noise from the other rooms was amplified. The bed was comfortable and clean, except for the pillow - there was only one very small lumpy pillow. Whilst the room was clean and modern, I stayed for 3 nights and no one came once to empty the toilet paper bin or do any other type of cleaning.

I liked everything about it! Gabriel and all staff were so helpful and nice. Gabriel even recommended some really good restaurants. Such a nice hostel that you can even say it looks like a hotel.
I only have one complaint, I know this is a hostel, not a hotel, but I believe they should have at least a bathroom mat or something because after you get out of the shower, the bathroom floor would be all wet and it is a little uncomfortable. Also to provide hand towels that would be great. Other than that, we really enjoyed our stay.
