We thought the apartment was fantastic, super clean and well presented with lovely amenities. It is an easy flat walk into the town centre with great facilities and places to eat. We loved the lock up garage as well as the security into the complex.

The building manager was reasonably helpful but made a few comments that tainted the overall experience - for example we arrived 10 mins before recommended check-in and he said - You are early! We said we can walk around the block if that helped! On departure date we left early at 8:30am and there was a phone number to call which we tried three times, left a message and put the apartment keys under the matt at the front door of reception. He rang us back - 45 mins later and said there was note at the apartment on where to leave the keys which we did not see despite looking several times. There was no thank-you for staying, I hope you enjoyed it etc. A real opportunity lost to encourage you to come back, unfortunately.

The apartment was very spacious and immaculate. The views of the Marina were fabulous and this accommodation exceeded my expectations.

I did not receive a reply to my emails. I had a few questions about our stay and I emailed them. I didn't receive a response. We left home late and I emailed as courtesy to let them know that we will be arriving late. Again I did not receive a response. When we arrived to Sovereign in the evening, reception was closed, it was dark and it is a gated community. I did not receive instructions as to where I needed to collect the keys. I started calling them and then my daughter saw an envelope sticking out of the door.

The apartment is very spacious in a nice location with a pool and a gym. The city and beautiful places for trips within driving distance.

If you come for a few days, you should organize in advance even with toilet paper because the place only provides these things for two days or so. The place is beautiful but it is not a site on the beach but in a marina. The beach itself is within driving distance and in general - all the nice things are within a short drive and not a walk. We stayed in the apartment mainly in the evening and at night and the wifi most of the time - didn't work.

Lovely spacious apartment just outside the main streets of Whitianga. Surprisingly we had two parking spaces. A garage and an uncovered space. We enjoyed the swimming pool and tennis courts. If we had stayed longer we would have used the kayaks too. The lady in reception was very helpful in settling us in and informing us on what to do in the area. If she hadn’t done this I don’t think we would have seen the wonderful beaches north of Whitianga, which are outstanding. So thank you.

A very comfortable apartment on the first floor with an excellent balcony for outside dining with a barbecue as well. Lovely views over the marina. Good facilities, excellent for self catering purposes with a very good kitchen. Washing machine and tumble dryer as well.

As with previous reviews, with there only being 2 of us, the additional bedroom and the main bathroom were closed off. No problem with the former but the ensuite bathroom is quite small and doesn't have a bath. You can have them opened but at extra cost.

Location is beautiful. The villas won't disappoint. Tightly secure behind remote controlled gates. U have your own garage to park your car in. Our villa was spacious and the people who actually live there were friendly. Receptionist is knowledgeable of the area. They give tennis racquets and balls for tennis and little spades for hot water beach about half hours drive away. There's a cool park in town.

Whitianga is expensive for a family to eat out. Take food and cook yourself. Would have loved the spa to be a little hotter and swimming pool warmer at this time of year and not in the summer time

I booked a waterfront apartment at Sovereign Pier Hotel and it was stunning, over my expectation. The property is just cozy, like home, and the view of the water is amazing. I had a great stay relaxing in front of the water and enjoying the facilities. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the location was convenient for exploring Coromandel. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a peaceful and comfortable getaway. It was one of the best experiences I’ve ever had.

TV is too small. Add an electric blanket would be highly recommended.

Gorgeous view of the waterways and pool from our apartment. The apartment was beautiful, very spacious, comfortable bed, pillows and couches. Well equipped kitchen and plenty of towels available. The pool was wonderful. Appreciated the AC and fans.

Not a big deal but we would have preferred a separate bathroom that wasn’t an ensuite, but that was shut off as we’d only booked a 1 bedroom stay. I can understand the logic in that but would have liked the separation.

excellent brand new amazing 1 bed apartment with views over the marina - the team on site were fantastic - friendly helpful and made great local recommendations for trips and places to eat. 😀 amazing pool and huge hot tub with a few sun loungers and tables to just chill as it was very peaceful - may get busier in peak months but perfect time for us late spring. we were also able to hire kayaks for $20 for a few hours to explore the marina area which comprised mainly of a waterways tour of millionaire row properties! This is an up and coming resort undergoing major redevelopment and a perfect location to explore the coromandel! really enjoyed our stay but the enclosed resort feel may not be for everyone.

location - it was a long walk into town when you did it daily for shopping and meals twice a day - 20 minutes -and there wasn’t anything close. we mistakingly got the impression being on a marina it was going to have restaurants bars etc within the marina but this is a private luxury highly security and gated complex - it is very high end which was great in terms of the luxury and standard of apartments but lacked any real atmosphere or buzz - but the plus side is quiet peaceful and relaxing and suited our 3 night stay.

Inside so artistic, comfortable bed, artistic interior, very clean. the view 👍🏼

No extra bin liner / trash bag, need to clean/ bring our own rubish out, not like you stay in hotel or service apartment. A bit weird that they photocopy your bank card (including the cvv number), better just took deposit feel more save.
