We used to stay at the Falaj Daris 20 years ago when we lived in Oman and loved the hotel then. It didn’t disappoint 20 years later. The rooms are in a lovely ground floor courtyard setting around the pool and restaurant giving it a real Arabic feel. We were a family of 6 adults and had 3 spacious inter connecting rooms - 2 twin rooms (two small doubles in each room) and a double room (UK King bed). Rooms have a small fridge and kettle with tea/coffee. Beds are comfortable. Essential toiletries are also provided. Breakfast was included in our room rate and was a delicious hot/cold buffet with different hot combinations every day (the hot porridge was fabulous). We also ate at the hotel every night as they had a good Indian/western food selection, reasonably priced and very tasty (burgers were super tasty). They also have a bar and alcohol license. Staff are super friendly and they also helped out when we had an issue with our rental car. Hotel is about a 10 minute drive into Nizwa but its location means that it’s easy to get to and is much quieter than the hotels nearer the fort. We loved our stay and would always stay here when visiting Nizwa.

Pool isn’t heated but didn’t stop our family enjoying it!

I choose it for the swimmingpool - and it did not disappoint!!! Great pool, many chairs, towels available. All great. Rooms are spacious and food is good! People are (almost overly :)) friendly.

If I have to say something, as it basically was overall super great … i can only mention the small biting ants around the pool (i tried each side of the pool - they are always there!). Nothing too bad though - it didn’t chase me from the pool!

The location, away from the core worked for us as we didn't want to stay in the hustle bustle. Pool was nice and clean. We saw others enjoying. Room was very clean with all necessary provisions made, and even fulfilled special request for providing a shaving kit. We liked it that the breakfast was not pre-cooked, it was prepared as per the orders, so all customizations were taken care of for the kids. Ample parking on the front as well as to the side of the hotel. Overall a very good experience from the hotel as well as the city in general.

Nothing to dislike. All good. There is no limit to expectations. The hotel is on ground floor only. So the back side curtains open on to a peripheral walkway. We kept the windows and curtains closed.

it is quiet location. The room was spacious. The breakfast was good, different menus were on each day. However, the choice is not that wide but reasonable. The quality is good. On site free parking is good.

Knocking our doors in the morning by the staff for room servicing was very annoying and unusual. we never experienced this before. The room did not have any sign for “Don’t Disturb” or “ Make room” sign that we could hang outside of the door. The guests may be tired and sleeping. This outdated practice must be changed. The force of the water in the bathroom is variable and unpredictable.

Although it's nearby a big road, you cannot hear a thing! The room was big and very clean (also the bathroom). As we were there for New Year's Eve, we could also enjoy a drink in a very cosy bar by the swimming pool (the other one was with music, just behind the reception).

Breakfast was rich, but the taste of everything a bit fade.

Location and pool facilities. Huge well maintained pool for both adults and kids. The mountains view from pool was lovely at evening.

Though hotel was deserted as it was off season but staff seems lost and not interested in greeting and seeing you there. Pool had no towels and you have to first find staff and then equest one. We told bald guy at reception to make sure room aircon is working well as it was too hot outside but aircon in room wasn't working as it should be at 17 degree.This hotel has so much potential to exceed expectation

I have stayed at FDH for more than 25 years. The staff are excellent and some have been there for many years. Proof of good working conditions and management. The whole Covid period the FDH went through a proper renovation of all rooms and bathrooms. So today the hotel is in new excellent condition. Also the two inner court yards and pool were renovated.

I stayed with my family. Received an upgrade to a suite room and got further discount too while checking-in(cant ask for more). The property is located in a convenient location in Nizwa to be able to access both Jabal Sham and Jabal Akhdar mountains. From the outside, the property may look slightly old fashioned(and that has its own charm) but the interior is nicely done - modern and chic. Had the property been slightly larger, could have passed for a resort. The bed was super comfortable and the room was very clean. Food was good and there was a good variety. Mr Piyush, the restaurant manager, goes extra mile to take care of his guests. Would specially like to call out the other staff as they made our stay absolutely memorable. Mr Kumar and Mr Vineet from reception, Mr Prashant from Bar, Mr Madhav from housekeeping and a few more guys whose name I cant recall. Excellent stay !

Room was very clean, comfortable, large sized and well decorated. Breakfast buffet selection was very good too. The area was quiet and peaceful, the pool looked very inviting. We didnt stay long enough to use the pool but we shall plunge in the next time! Hotel is well located and convenient for sight seeing trips. A very pleasant hotel, efficient and helpful staff and highly recommedable to all visiting Nizwa.

The only missing element is a small shelf in the shower to be able to hold soaps and shampoos! A few clothes hooks in the bathroom would be good too.

Nice large, clean room around the pool courtyard which was excellent. The hotel ambience is lovely with the two courtyards, one with the restaurant and the other courtyard with the pool. Parking is easy. The menu for the evening is suitably varied with plenty of choice. When we were there not many people were eating in the restaurant which is a pity because it is lovely with its fountains, open to the sky and subtle lighting. All the staff were friendly and helpful and aimed to please. They were respectful of our privacy. Towels were quickly provided when we arrived by the pool area to take a swim. We were able to use the hotel facilities even after we had checked out because we were taking a night flight and didn’t want to do any more sightseeing before our long, tiring journey home. It meant that we were able to truly relax on our final day in Oman. This was a real bonus. We were able to leave our luggage in a room near to the reception after we had checked out.

The breakfast - buffet style on the first day - wasn’t very tasty because the food had been sitting around for quite a while. I guess it’s difficult to keep it fresh tasting when breakfast hours run across a period of about three hours and guests can choose when to breakfast. However, other hotels we stayed in in Oman managed to keep food fresh, so we suggest the Falaj Daris finds out how other hotels manage to keep things fresh tasting. The eggs were leathery by the time we had ours and the pancakes were dry and hard. The fresh fruit and yogurt and all the non-cooked food was very good. The following day breakfast was served to us at our table and it was much better - fresher. In fact it was delicious.
