Loved my stay, however short, in Bakawan. The hostel doesn't have much capacity as far as accomodations but the beds were comfy, and the rooms were spacious and clean. The staff at reception were some of the most helpful I've met in Coron and they always had a smile on their faces. If you're looking for a quiet stay with a nice rooftop area to chill at, this hostel is right for you.

I didn't have many things to dock points from Bakawan except maybe having a backup for when there's a power outage might help tremendously.

Bakawan Hostel has nice and big common area on the rooftop. It's a bit on the side of the town centre, but it's still about 5-10min. walk to the main square. Staff is super helpfull and nice.

I was travelling alone and visiting Coron during the rainy season and I was basically alone in the hostel. For some people it might be an advantage, but if you are more social person this time of the year it. might be the best to stay here.

Really enjoyed my stay at Bakawan, definitely not a party hostel which is what i was looking for but still managed to meet some cool people to go for dinner and some beers after a long day of tours and diving. During my stay in the Philippines this has to be the cleanest hostel i stayed in (cleaned the rooms/bathroom throughout the day and remade the beds each day). Lockers with padlocks provided which is also quite rare at hostels. Room size was good also for a 6 Bed dorm. The ladies that work here were always smiling and help me do laundry, book excursions and transfers to the airport. Breakfast is simple and tasty (egg/toast/jam) but is made to order and for the early starts is perfect. Free water is available on the balcony area throughout the day. All in all would definitely recommend for a solo traveller who is looking for a chilled place to explore and enjoy Coron!

Wifi isn't great but this was a minor inconvenience for me. I think the hostel has huge potential as it feels brand new. A few minor suggestions based on previous travels - Consider sell soft drinks/beers etc at the upstairs area - There is a great space upstairs that was usually empty during the day due to everyone doing activities around the town, potential to organise was socialising events (trivia/cooking night etc)

It's a really nice hostel, the stuff was friendly, the beds are comfortable and you have enough space in the rooms for your luggage. Also, everyone has their own locker in the room. Also, the lounge at the rooftop is great to chill.

I would walk alone, as a woman, around the hostel when it's dark. There were not so many lights and I felt a bit scared.

Clean rooms and the bathroom. Social area was big and quite to chill. staff was very friendly and helpful. They were understanding and accommodating.

water in the washroom would go everywhere when taking a shower which creates a hazard as it becomes very slippery when others go into the bathroom after shower. suggested they could provide a cleaning tool so that tenants can use to dry the bathroom after each use and have a sing saying ‘slippery be careful’ or something along those lines.

EVERYTHING. the cleanliness of the rooms and the place (they clean our rooms everyday), the rooms are spacious, they offer unlimited drinking water & coffee, and most especially, the STAFF. they were all great and very accomodation.. they even helped me buy food and cake for the birthday celebrants. thankyou so much and i really appreciate all the efforts. i really commend the staff of this hostel..

maybe the internet connection. it was kinda slow.. but its still fine since we are a big group and all of us are connected in the internet

Very nice little Hostel. Very simple but complete at the same time. Very friendly staff, very clean, good internet conection, free breakfast, good location and very much affordable :) I'll surelly go back there once I come back in Coron, thanks :)

Everything was perfect

Cleanest hostel I’ve ever been to that you could sleep in the floor. Great WiFi and the rooftop was really nice. Rooms were big and comfortable. More a chill out hostel. Good price!

A little far from the town but walkable distance and the tuk tuks were cheap so it’s not a problem.

Very clean, most amazing water pressure since a long time, comfy beds, calm area and big rooms ( enough space for all the bags of every guest) with lockers for important stuff. Its a bit out of center but as coron is very small u can reach everything by 5-10 mins walking. Very recommend:)

Comfy beds, clean facilities. Great terrace with a nice view. Wifi works, hot shower. Simple breakfast with toast and peanut butter.

It’s about 10mins walk to the main street with restaurants/bars.
