Our stay at the Tulbagh Boutique Heritage Hotel was wonderful! From the moment we arrived, the staff went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. Their friendliness and attentiveness were truly exceptional, making the entire experience so much more enjoyable. The food was a highlight—every meal was delicious and beautifully presented. The variety and quality exceeded our expectations, and we found ourselves looking forward to each dining experience. The rooms were incredibly comfortable and well-equipped with everything we needed. The attention to detail in the décor and amenities made it feel like a home away from home, and the beds ensured we got a restful night’s sleep. We left feeling relaxed and well taken care of. We highly recommend this gem of a hotel to anyone visiting Tulbagh and can’t wait to return!

The staff were truly exceptional. Friendly, helpful, and efficient. Their restaurant, The Olive Bistro, served generous, reasonably priced, tasty meals. The lighting in the bedroom is excellent. Great proximity to nearby wine and olive estates. Great quality cushions and linen in the Vfffffraf$$!! Aa@ bedroom. 2
We could, in the honeymoon suite, get wifi on our phones, but not our tablets, don't know wifi strength to other rooms. The diningroom chairs need new, firm foam under the upholstery and felt tips under legs to make them more manueverable and less noisy. Cannot fault anything else. Great hotel!

Lovely spacious rooms with comfortable beds and high quality bed linen. The restaurant was great with friendly patrons and staff and delicious food. We specially liked the touch of having our beds turned down for hot water bottles in winter! Staff very helpful in facilitating our stay. Convenient location for walking into town.
It was slightly concerning that staff had to warn us about security outside the hotel, especially at night. But that is a comment on the town rather than the hotel and it is better to be primed to be careful than to have something untoward happen. We hope Tulbagh town council is putting effort into ensuring visitors feel secure in the town.

The hotel is definitely the friendliest around. I loved how amazing the staff were & how accommodating of all requests. The festival shuttle forgot to colelct guests at the festival on Saturday afternoon - the hotel sent their own car to collect us. Such amazing service
Breakfast is not buffet. no cereal options besides muesli & yoghurt, but overall good. Limited choices from the kitchen for breakfast. Also the room service was slow - possibly because the hotel was so full for the weekend. Dont use the WhatsApp line, call down to reception

Wonderful to be in the historic town centre of Tulbagh with everything within walking distance. We stayed in the Heritage Fynbos King Room on the street across from the hotel. Had a beautiful room and bathroom. There is a common superbly furnished lounge with artworks and books and one can go out into the charming quiet back garden with a small swimming pool. Breakfast and dinner were served on the terrace (across the road) which was very good with exceptional service of welcome and great dining. Good value for the location. We would certainly return to this historic hotel.
Was more of a splash pool. Would have liked to do some lengths in the pool.

We stayed in the King room, which pleasantly surprised me. The room is large, modernly decorated, with a splendid bathroom to match. There is a lovely balcony that comes with the room, with trees providing shade. The stoep act as part of the restaurant and is quite popular with guests and walk-ins alike. The hotel definitely oozes old world charm. The hotel is very centrally located and a short walk to the old historic street.
The swimming pool area seemed a bit neglected and not in keeping with the upmarket feel of the rest of the hotel. There is a Standard Bank and cash dispenser next to the hotel, which unfortunately means a lot movement by locals in front of the hotel, but this is mainly true for the whole of Tulbagh main street.

The hotel is conveniently located in the center of town, which was great! The staff were all so friendly and professional, going the extra mile to help! Truly. 10/10 service! The bed was incredibly comfortable and the food was amazing! Best of the whole weekend! We thoroughly enjoyed 2 of the pools PLUS the spa. Heavenly. (We got the current special with the couples 30min massage and 30 min facial! We were so relaxed after!) Give this cute hotel a go: you will not regret it! If you want to use the spa services, we recommend booking those treatments in advance to ensure their availability works with your schedule. We were grateful they were able to fit us in, but we had to book a different day than we’d originally hoped for 🫶
We couldn’t stay there longer! 🫣

Beautiful quaint historical hotel, and really friendly welcoming staff. Wonderful homely atmosphere. Love the coffee terrace too, and the fireplace in the dining room. The food was amazing, both breakfast and dinner. The room we booked via booking.com was apparently across the street from the hotel and very small, so the receptionist upgraded us to a spacious king bedded room inside the main hotel. We loved it!
2 Beggars harrassed us outside the hotel as we arrived. But the reception lady got security to chase them away.

An amazing property and room. Enormous main room with comfy living area. The bathroom was also enormous and very well done. My wife wanted to move in. Meals were also womderful.
A little difficult to carry the luggage to and from the front gate (we stayed in the annex across the street) as there are a lot of steps. We had help on arrival, but moved it ourselves when we left. Parking was also somewhat challenging though we lucked out get a spot in front of the hotel.

Just a nice hotel in the middle of town
The central pool over the road needs a revamp was green when we arrived which puts you off. They did clean it after a word. The town is pretty for the most part but its not safe We go to the western cape for 2 months every year most place you feel safe but not here. My wife was threatened to be stabbed if she didn't give money. we didn't and he didn't bring out the knife but we were harassed several times, the town needs to be policed as other places then the nice shops would arrive, there not there at the moment. We stayed in the area for another 2 weeks but outside town which was lovely. PS if a local cleans your car without asking please give him something at least he is trying and not just begging!
