The hosts were very welcoming, friendly and informative. The room was perfect for our family of 4, very comfortable beds and spacious room. Great location with only a short walk to the gondolas, train and main eating streets. The included breakfast was great and friendly staff each morning offering additional items such as hot drinks. Lived learning about the history of the owners and their own climbing experience, great to have the real items used in climbs throughout the hotel.

Not much not to like! The room was really hot though so even with turning off the water heaters we slept with one window partially open.

Everything! Let's start from the room. It was spacious and spotless. Bathroom was also spacious and clean. A lot of hooks for hanging towels/jackets. More than enough space to place your things in the room. The breakfast was also wonderful. Various choices. You have all nutrients needed! The common room downstairs was cozy and nice. I think I met the owners, the couple, at our first breakfast. Since we, family of 4, took some time to finish our breakfast, the staff and the owner came to ask if everything was okay 😀. They were nice people, especially, Maurizio who prepared coffee for us every morning. He also drove us to the train station on the last day because it was raining. That made our travel much easier and convenient. Laura was also nice. She managed for us to have a ride to the train station. I highly reccommend this place if you go to Zermatt. Not dufficult to walk to from the station or you can take a bus. The price was reasonable for what they have with good quality.

Nothing about the place itself. However, my youngest kid was a little scared to have walked pass the cemetery to go to the resort 🙂.

The room was spacious and filled with a pleasant aroma of wood, which created a truly relaxing atmosphere. Both the room and the balcony offered stunning views of the Matterhorn, making our stay even more memorable. The cleanliness of the room was impressive, and the staff were exceptionally friendly and accommodating. Breakfast was hearty and provided a great start to our days. Despite the cons, I would recommend Base Camp Hotel for its wonderful ambiance, cleanliness, and great views. Just be prepared for a bit of travel to the station and some noise if construction is ongoing.

The hotel is a bit far from the Zermatt station.. Additionally, there was construction work happening beside the hotel, leading to some noise during our stay. We also experienced some sounds from the ceiling during midnight.

Excellent little hotel. Much cheaper in the summer off season, and felt like I was getting a lot more than I paid for. Very nice mountaineering them, excellent staff, clean, modern rooms. Breakfast was free and excellent. My room, though not mountain facing, had excellent views of the city from the 4th floor.

Its a bit of a trek up a hill from the train station, about a 1km walk, although the hotel does have a shuttle I think you can utilize.

location was great, I sadly did not find the sauna until I was checking out, but it is nice to have that option. Breakfast was amazing, and very nice to have that included in the price, which made the cost feel reasonable since it included a meal. They were very accommodating to hold my gear while I went back on the mountain after check out. Overall it was a lovely stay. The rooms are all beautiful, the bathrooms are very nice, and it was so neat with the climbing theme around the hotel.

not knowing the sauna operations. I was on the second level and had some views of the Matterhorn, but if you were higher up in the hotel it would have had magnificent views of the mountain. But you could just sept outside of the hotel and get an amazing view.

The family room had an amazing view of the Matterhorn. We saw its form throughout all times of the day. From sunrise to sunset, it was amazing. The room was clean and comfortable. The staff were also very helpful, in particular Caroline. She made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. My mom unfortunately fell ill during the second day, and Caroline made sure to help us find a doctor nearby, call and arranged a taxi to the doctors etc. Thank you for your kind hospitality!

Fabulous,rooms. The family room was perfect for our situation. I have travelled quite a bit and never experienced anything as good. The staff were consistently helpful and friendly, always trying to calm and assure this stressed grandmother!

The noise of the fan in the bathroom that couldn't be turned off. The lighting system was confusing but all else so excellent, no reason to complain. Labeling or an explanation might help. Did I miss finding that? 9

The location is perfect, 2 minutes walk to everywhere. The staff are very nice and happy to help organise hiking and daily activities. The view of the Matterhorn was very impressive from the room. The mountaineering style of the hotel is class and the ice axe for the door handle - wow so cool. Great place to stay

I need a hair dryer I did not read it properly that the hotel room doesn’t have one so I want and buy one The mattress bed was to strong for my me and my husband and the bunk bed for kids where above our heads We did knock our heads 2/3 times Kids loves the bunk beds

I think we were the first or second people in the room since it had been renovated. Everything exceeded our expectations. The room looked great (what a cool headboard)! The bed was comfy. Nice new windows and door to the deck. The room features are terrific. Thoughtful places to set and open our suitcases. Lots of outlets with USB plugs at convenient heights. Nicely updated bathroom with counter space for our stuff. Soft towels and bed linens. Breakfast included many options, so even accounting for some food allergies and personal pickiness, each of us enjoyed a hearty meal. The check-in and check-out staff were very friendly and helpful. We booked a room with mountain view and it was amazing. We sat on the deck and stared at the Matterhorn--truly magical.

There are two routes from the train station to the hotel, we unknowingly took the steeper route :-( We recommend including the more gradual/easier directions along with the confirmation.
