the accommodation, facilities, equipment , bedding, bathroom , lounge was good, comfortable, clean, in good condition on-site parking, location and ease of access to local restaurants, pubs, etc; once parked we could walk everywhere comfortably & safely the rusks were yummy with the coffee in the morning, nice touch! good, simple security & access to the room host was proactive and perfectly attentive to our needs, his balance & discretion ensured we were comfortable and had access to all we needed
could have had a bit more variety of magazines in the room

The bed in our room was really fantastic - huge bed with warm down duvet and comfortable pillows, and an electric blanket that was on when we got to the venue. As it was a freezing night, this was really appreciated! The unconventional decor meant that this was certainly no bland hotel room. Lovely apple juice in the fridge and dried figs were a great touch possibly showcasing food from the Klein Karoo.
The lights in the small lounge were very dull, so it felt a little gloomy in there (it was a miserable day!).

Directly next to iconic Diesel & Creme you find the hidden gem Karoo Moon hotel. It‘s artsy, it‘s edgy, it‘s spacious the perfect stop for a night or two in Barrydale. In the suite we had two living rooms, a very spacious and cozy king size bed, a second bed, four very big comfy chairs and a small kitchenett. The decoration is just outstanding.
It is directly next to Diesel & Creme and very stylish. Expect people to walk by on your porch. All call after 430pm.

This is our 4th visit to the Karoo Moon Hotel and we were not disappointed. We love the quirkiness of the rooms, love the bathroom size and layout, the large and comfy bed and comfy lounge and living area. We had more than enough wood to burn a fire for both nights we were there. Coffee pod machine is always appreciated with the strong wifi. Walking distance to all the restaurants and pubs in town makes it a convenient stop over venue. The host (Dean) was on hand to recommend local spots for the rugby and restaurants to consider.
The only negative (which the host also mentioned) is the close proximity to the restaurant at the Diesel & Creme next door. The noise levels and lack of privacy are only an issue if you are there during the day time, as Diesel & Creme closes promptly at 17h00. SO the evenings are quiet and peaceful. They also have other rooms in town which are more secluded if that is preferred which we will try next time.

Have stayed all over the world, and all over the UK with work, and I have to say I think this little gem of a spot takes the cake for my favourite. An absolutely delightful little cabin, it was a chilly day so being able to light the fire made it very cosy indeed. The interior was gorgeous, with clearly a lot of thought going into it. HIGHLY recommend staying here to anyone. Beautiful little town, with a lovely hill for trail running and hiking right behind the place as well which was yet another bonus for me. The quality of the bedding was exceptional as well. Cannot fault the place.

Comfortable and warm bed. Clean linen. Lovely shower, easy to find the ideal temperature and it stayed there. I could switch the WIFI off and not fry my brain during the night - can't always do that at other facilities
Smoky smell on arrival. I didn't use the fireplace but people should find out exactly how to start the fire to prevent smoke into the room. It could work perfectly

Huge suite with bedroom, living area, dining area and kitchen, separate garden seating area. Furnished with all kinds of antiques, absolutly fantastic. Friendly welcome. There is a fine breakfast right next door. A must stay here if travelling on route 62. Will definitely return when in SA.

I am not always a big fan of these 'concept hotels' with keylock checkins, having said that, this is a great concept. The room is absolutely fantastic, super comfortable and beatifully decorated with all the facilities you want and need, and more, even firewood for a braai which I though was great service. Everything so tastefully done, beautiful materials, carpets and towels from the local weavery, I loved how local produce has been used which made it different from many other places. Dean or whoever designed this place has really thought about everything for a great stay and making guests comfortable, compliments for that.
Little impersonal but staff in next door restaurant were helpful. It is is basically one big space which has brilliantly been divided and you definitely hear your neighbours. We did not have problems but noise may be an issue.

If you are someone who follows the crowd then this motel is probably not for you. If however you want somewhere slightly different and memorable then book before someone else does. Situated in a renovated house the motel has 2 distinctive rooms. The one we stayed in was full of shabby chic furniture artfully put together much of which gave it a unique and quirky feel. The bed was exceptionally comfortable and the rooms were spotlessly clean. We. had our own sitting room, dinning area, kitchen space( no cooker but microwave) and an excellent shower room with plenty of hot water and small terrace. It forms part of the Diesel and Crème cafe which is a destination on Route 62 in its own right. See separate review. It is also amazing value for money. Book if you can.

Comfortable and perfect for our small family. The design and attention to detail makes it a really unique and fun place to stay!! The owner was easily contactable for self check-in and very helpful with dinner suggestions. Then having a killer breakfast and amazing milkshakes right next door at Diesel and Creme - who could ask for more!
