Hotel was in the perfect location for the V&A waterfront and all the V&A has to offer. Unlike some previous reviews, we found the breakfast to be excellent with very little or no waiting times. There was a comprehensive selection of breakfast choices available with a dedicated omelette station. The breakfast room had views of the V&A harbour and table mountain beyond. Staff were very welcoming, courteous, helpful and cheery.

If there was a negative, it was the problem of noise from building works ongoing near the car park side of the hotel that looks onto the ocean. It was irritating to have this digging noise so late at night and it occurred every night of our stay. Not ideal when you are trying to sleep. Room was a generous size and very clean.

All staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The room was spacious and very comfortable.

Trying to communicate before arrival was a nightmare. For weeks I got an email back responding to my email with I’m out of the office. Response time from hotel, extremely delayed it at all. This is a major problem for them and for guest. My room was beautiful one huge concern is that cruise ships and other boats dock and their motor is going all the time very disturbing. I’m not sure what the hotel could possibly do about that negotiate with the port possibly

Location was fun the Waterfront an iconic Cape Town location with easy access to great bars and restaurants.

key access was poor from the lobby to the elevators with many failures over the stay 4 times back to reception was very irritating .Once understandable but not 4 times and we were not alone with this frustration, with other guests suffering the same failures.It did not come as much of a surprise to the staff also who were almost blasé in their approach so it happens a lot...too many times for a 5Star property.Surely time to upgrade the system.It is ply does not work!

We recently had the pleasure of staying at The Table Bay Hotel and I am delighted to share our experience, which was nothing short of exceptional. His personal touch and genuine concern for our comfort made us feel truly valued as guests. Trevor, along with Christopher, the Restaurant Manager, and the entire support staff, went above and beyond to ensure our stay was as comfortable and enjoyable as possible, always being on hand to assist with any request, no matter how big or small. The location of The Table Bay Hotel is simply unbeatable; offering unparalleled views, internal access to the best shopping, dining, and entertainment that Cape Town has to offer. Our room was incredibly spacious and comfortable, located on the topmost floor of the property, offering priceless views of both the Waterfront and the iconic Table Mountain. Waking up to such breathtaking vistas each morning was truly a highlight of our stay. The breakfast each morning was extensive and of exceptional quality, offering a wide variety of delicious options to suit every palate. In conclusion, The Table Bay Hotel offers an outstanding experience - exceptional service, a prime location and luxurious accommodation. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for the best that Cape Town has to offer. Once again, special thanks to Trevor, Christopher and the entire team for making our stay truly special. We will undoubtedly return to this gem in the V&A Waterfront really soon.

Amazing breakfast, incredible location with an amazing sea view from the 4th floor and a very comfortable bed! Had an amazing scrub and massage at the Spa. The Porters were extremely friendly and helpful and provided a speedy service. The restaurant suggested by the concierge offered the most perfect salmon which was to die for, thanks for the recommendation. I loved the experience and will definitely be back!

Two of the lady staff members at the lounge area on Friday night almost made it a terrible experience when I requested to have my cappuccino added to my room and they asked me whether I had permission from reception to add things to my room which I never required at any of the hotels I visited, this despite giving them my room number. In order to avoid a scene I paid in cash on the spot but was a bit irritated by this.

The High Tea at TB is excellent and location wise, you cannot get much better than this for access to the V&A. I was traveling alone and felt very safe. Double security / key card access to get to the lift area and rooms which is great! Everyone I dealt with from the porter's desk, concierge, front office, housekeeping, to the lovely ladies who served and looked after us in the lounge during High Tea, were fantastic. My room was ready early, and I could also check out late which was a huge bonus. Thank you TB team for the birthday spoils in my room. Loved every minute and look forward to the next one.

For a 5-Star Hotel, the Breakfast could definitely have been better. I found a few items to be lacking and the area where the hot food is, was a bit 'sloppy'. Some of the serving spoons were caked with food and should have been switched out and replaced.

The Table Bay has the perfect, safe location, close to bars and restaurants and attached to a superb shopping centre. The breakfast was delicious with an huge choice of quality produce. Prices in the hotel bars and restaurants were very reasonable. We walked to pick up a car rental in Port Road ( 10-15 mins through the waterfront ) and parked it in the hotel car park - very simple. The room was large and clean, with an enormous bed, overlooking the sea.

It was so enjoyable that I wish I'd stayed longer.

The location and hotel facilities, plus some of the staff were excellent. The Spa was very good too.

Some of the staff need more training as they did not have a clue to what was being requested at certain times, plus the breakfast buffet was ALWAYS running out of food items, at various times it was open and it took ages to get served at various bars. I also didn't like the way some of the staff were spoken to by their managers in front of guests. It was shocking and should not EVER happen. The room service breakfast should not be charged for if you are already paying for breakfast as part of your accommodation charge. A small fee should be applied for taking it to the room, but not £32 for 2 breakfasts on top of the room accommodation charges.

The food was exceptional

The reception team. I received very poor treatment from the day I arrived, being booked in a room different to the one I paid for and on checking out I had to spend over 30 minutes convincing them that I paid and it was so embarrassing where I felt like I was being profiled for being black or maybe I didn’t look like I could afford the place. I had emails and proof of payment and confirmation but it was all disregarded. I was asked to pay the full amount again before checking out , which I refused.

The location is great, right on the Waterfront and in an area we found to be safe and with lots of shopping and eating options. The breakfast was fantastic - the first time I have seen Oysters in a breaktfast buffet! The room was large and we had an ocean view. The staff were friendly and valet parking was included free of charge.

The hotel has a 'traditional' style, but that's part of its charm really. Like other reviewers we had to queue for breakfast at peak times (9am ish)- in our case, about 10 minutes with a further 5 minute wait for the egg stations - hardly the end of the world but worth being aware of.
