It is an absolutely amazing home. Has the graciousness of the English quaint majestic blend of elegance and charm. Mixed with lush beautiful gardens and nature filled passages of the African continent the house is abolished in wooden oak contrasting beautifully with pale stone. The rooms have a sense of soft cozy grandeur that boasts of intimacy. Rooms are spacious and functional The area where you serve teas was filled with all the sachets of all necessities — added with a touch of rusks for those late snack was sweet. I was impressed with the warmth and kindness of the lady who assists. Got there on a cold day and she was sweet enough to switch on the electric blanket and give us all the information about sites to see and beat times to go based on weather and other tourists. The water is immediately warm and comes out of a proper wide shower heads in bathrooms that would put any hotel room to shame. Breakfasts was to your specific order and the chef is absolutely fantastic, coming out to attend to each guest personally I could go on but .. truly a special space this A dream home away from home I will surely be back

Nothing. Even the manual gate made it all the more quaint and homely

The property is an old-style mansion converted into a B&B; very nice and stylish building with a beautiful garden outside. Gustav, the host, was a character, shared lots of stories and good suggestions. Our room was the one in the end of the hallway, probably one of the largest ones; very spacious, with a bathtub, comfortable bed, clean and good shower, and a sitting area. We slept very well there. There are nice areas for hanging around in the place (the covered garden with the hanging plants is lovely), but we didn't have time to enjoy them that much. Breakfast was fantastic, both the food and presentation. Surely would stay here again.

Nothing, it was a great stay!

The lodge is located in a very quiet area. It is a romantic venue with a beautiful garden. Our room had a bath which was very relax after a long drive and misty afternoon. Graskop is a safe village with nice restaurants. You can walk and do some souvenir shopping. Dot made a reservation for us at the Glashouse, which was a pleasant experience. The breakfast offered at the lodge is excellent. Juice, fresh fruit and a choice of warm dishes. All beautifully served. The day of departure we had a flat tire and Dot helped us kindly to sort out things.

Nothing, our stay at the lodge was perfect!

The staff was extremely friendly; Right after arrival I got lots of infirmation about sights, restaurants etc. Breakfast: buffet and individually prepared eggs Location: Super to explore sights in Blyde canyon area. Great dishes (ostrich, zebra...) are served at Garden Shed Restaurant, easy to reach by walking. Cleanliness; flawless Room: My room as a former chapel with plenty of space! Facilities were all perfect. I recommend this place !!

In this misty 'Scottish' landscape Gustavs house with his heatable matresses was an oasis of well-beeing. His house is lovingly, comfortably and tastefully furnished in the old English style with a fireplace lounge and dining room, completed by his extraordinary plant cultivation of flowering clivias, epiphytey and more, as well as a romanric garden and rose garden. We also enjoyed an exceprionally delicious dinner and breakfast from his head chief.

Extremely helpful and friendly guys there (Willem and Gustav). Nice rooms, well equipped, spacious. Excellent value for money. Honesty bar offers a wide selection of beer, red wines, white wines and spirits. Common in ZA but the offer here was very nice. And (this is really something else): Two Chefs, Rihanna and Natasha are providing breakfast and a three course evening dinner. Quality of food, taste and look, and service level has been superb (a standard that you would expect in a fine dining restaurant) so this would be a reason to come back. Best supper we had for ages. Simply excellent.

To have evening dinner requires a booking before 3:50 pm. This was not indicated on the homepage nor on Booking.com. As we arrived after that dead line we missed one wonderful supper - if we had known, we could have made a reservation in time.

Wonderful and accomodating host, you can see he really cares about the guests and the area. Room was very well equiped and clean. Bed was comfortable and even has a heater if you're cold!

I managed to hit my head while trying to get to my shoes on the luggage shelf as there is not a huge amount of space between it and the extra bed. Should have been more careful but load shedding meant no light, so couldn't see super well.

Absolutely amazing. Our first stop after the long flights and drive with the car. Very calm and beautiful environment. The hosts were amazing, showing us around the property and giving some tips and tricks for the area. Room was outstanding, big, bright, very comfortable bed, nice patio. The dinner was really delicious. Breakfast was good with fresh egg dishes and everything you need. We would have wanted to stay another night.

Westlodge is such a lovely place in Graskop. We used it as a stop from Joburg towards Kruger and to explore the area, especially Blyde River Canyon. We had a very warm welcome by Dott and she gave us great advice and told us everything important e.g. about the load shedding. The room was very lovely, with a Narnia-Style bathroom which was fun, plus the room has everything you could wish for. The lodge itself is super lovely with a nice garden. Especially the breakfast impressed us. We received a fruit salad, vanilla muffins, and a tailor made omelette by the chef. Also the owner was super helpful when our travel plans were cancelled due to the heavy rains. Thanks a lot for the nice stay!
