What was there not to like about 138 Guesthouse, it is situated just on the edge of Hermanus and right on the shores edge. The rooms were spacious and well laid out. Superb staff and very very helpful. Check-in was effortless and they very kindly booked us a restaurant to eat at as we arrived on Christmas Eve. I would definitely return if I were in Hermanus again. There are a several lovely restaurants nearby and the mall is a short 5 minute drive away too. Superb highly recommended.

There was no part of the accomodation we didn't like.

We recently stayed at this wonderful guesthouse and was blown away by the incredible service and inviting atmosphere. The staff went above and beyond to ensure our stay was perfect, especially as it was just days before our wedding. They made every effort to accommodate us, making our time there special and relaxing. With delightful surprises like the yummy cherry to end our day on a sweet note and the delicious chocolate left on our bed during turndown service, accompanied by a thoughtful note with the next day's forecast. Plus, the view from the guesthouse was absolutely breathtaking, adding to the overall experience. I highly recommend a stay here. The breakfast was delicious, the location was perfect - not too close to the shops, but just far enough to feel relaxed. It truly made for an unforgettable pre-wedding getaway.

This guesthouse is perfect for a beach-body who loves a scenic, tranquil and relaxing getaway. There is a trail for walking, jogging and/or running too! The sunset is gorgeous from the balcony and can be enjoyed with the wonderful sound of the waves too. It’s absolutely breathtaking and the staff is super friendly as well. Desré, the owner, goes out of her way to make you feel at home. She ensures that you are constantly kept updated with the loadshedding times, to avoid disappointment as well as the daily weather reports to properly plan your day/s too. The breakfast is wholesome, delicious and the presentation thereof is stunning too. I would definitely recommend anybody and everybody to come here! You won’t regret it.

The property lies perfectly at the seaside near Hermanus. The house is wonderful and splendid - as is the overwhelming breakfast, freshly prepared in the morning. Competing with another place in Cape Town our best breakfast we had traveling South Africa! And made just right for you from owners and staff. The room is not huge but very tidy and nice for sleeping. It had an ocean view but just from the side... well, we just stayed there for 1 night.

The room could have been bigger/better, but the kindliness of the owners and the fantastic breakfast made up for everything. So it is still a 9!

As a stop on our tour of the Garden Route, we stayed at 138 Marine Beachfront Guesthouse. We received a very warm welcome, Desire generally exuded a special friendliness and gave us a few helpful tips for exploring the area. The guesthouse is very clean and tastefully decorated. You can see the attention to detail. There were fresh flowers in the room and the breakfast table with a view of the sea was stylishly set. The breakfast itself was excellent. Thanks to the overall positive atmosphere, the guesthouse was recommended for another stay.

Best breakfast we have ever had in SA. Views from breakfast room and upstairs lounge lovely. Easy parking Great staff Access to cliff path VERY easy.

Television was small and in a cupboard. No air con Also whilst room lovely thought we would have seaviews from our bed. We had to stand at the foot of the bed to get a sea view from a small window. One of our joys in SA in a number of locations was to wake up and see the sea - not possible in this room. Having said that it is a lovely guest house with exceedingly high standards. The staff are lovely and very helpful

We stayed here for our wedding night. Sabine welcomed us, the room was beautiful with a card and petals. The view from the room was stunning with full facilities. Plenty of parking around the back. The bathroom was spacious and clean. Coffee facilities in the room allowed us to have coffee on the stoop facing the ocean. We were welcomed in the morning with an amazing breakfast setup. Fresh fruit and coffee with the opportunity to order a cooked breakfast. Just amazing.

Nothing to not like.

The guesthouse is situated in an amazing location right in front of the ocean and is decorated beautifully! What we loved most about our stay was the lovely staff. The ladies made us feel so welcome and were always up for a chat. They were really helpful with their suggestions and tips and always had an answer to all of our questions. We were sad we only stayed one night and will definitely be back. Thanks again for everything!!

Although the visit was short, it was amazing and memorable! The house and view are even more stunning in person. We spent hours in the lounge area just soaking in the sun and sounds of the waves. The place is spotless and looks like it comes out of a magazine. Water pressure was amazing in the shower and the bed was very comfy. Best thing though was our host and the breakfast! Thank you Sabina for making us feel like family and I need to get the recipe for the tomato chutney and mushrooms!

Nothing, it was perfect!

This place was fabulous. We arrived at Hermanus and found out that the entire town had lost power a couple of days prior to our arrival due to wind. We thought about moving on and not staying here. That would have been a mistake. We arrived at the guesthouse which overlooks the ocean to house light by candles. It was beautifully lit and romantic. We went to our room and were shown a sitting room with a roaring fire and a decanter of sherry. Since there was no power or wifi, we spent the evening talking, laughing, playing card games and enjoying the warm fire while sipping sherry. In the morning we were greeted by the delicious smells of breakfast and a beautifully set table just for us. Couldn’t ask for more. The ladies that own this are super caring and sweet. I wish I could return!

I’d like to say that I wish we had had power/ wifi, but that would have totally changed the experience. It was absolute breathtaking and perfect. Thank you for making it special.
