This set of apartments are part of a very nice small mall - 1st floor. However you don't feel the presence of the mall at all when entering (own entrance) and when in the apartment. Very comfortable and homely. Feels safe. Fully equipped. Spacious. Bathrooms are very good. The view is mainly the mountains but still great. Conveniently located walking distance from restaurants, markets and shops - Very nice walk with the family (3 small kids) even in the evening. They offer beach towels. There is daily room service. Safe parking. Special convenience with a very nice checkers on the ground level. Very good communication from the staff from prior to arrival and during our stay.

No washing machine. There is only 1 aircon in the apartment - main bedroom. We only noted later that there were fans in the cupboards. Load shedding - no back up available - only emergency lights. The markings on the knobs of the oven are worn out making it very difficult to operate.

The staff were exceptional - kind, courteous, attentive and pleased to help and always with a smile. The location was great. To be able to leave our room, walk a few steps and descend to the shopping mall was more than convenient. We only had breakfast once but, for that one time, it was very much value for money. I honestly cannot find anything negative to say. Of course, Mr. de Kock was more than gracious, kind and thoughtful. I do not hesitate to recommend the Whale Coast hotel to anyone.

The location is really good, you have everything you need just in a walking distance. The facility is very clean and staff are absolutely brilliant, they are friendly, very much effective and if you have a special request, they are always ready to support you. We can say that it is one of best place we have stayed.

Nothing really but if we should say something for improvement, perhaps the kitchen appliances could be a bit better and A/C in all bedrooms but all those didn’t really bothered us at all.

Perfect location, few steps from the center, short walk to the cliff path. on top of small shopping center (Checkers, in case you need) apartments were fine and as expected, yet reception and breakfast feels like few decades old. a very convenient parking below the entrance. There was an issue with the room's door, we got a replacement immediately. Stuff was very friendly

Reception took long (too much paper work) furniture need to be refurbished, feels like 80's funny thing about the breakfast, they ask you to send breakfast requests in advance

Location was ideal, a 3-min walk from the main Marine Drive touristic area with great restaurants and a great spot for whale watching. Furthermore, the hotel is right above a mall which had a supermarket and other convenience stores. The unit was a duplex, very modern with new fittings. Beds were very comfortable. The heating system was efficient despite the cold weather. Breakfast was decent.

The TV was not Smart :( Our access cards never worked because of a problem with the battery of the door lock, but the staff was always available close by to open it for us.

Loved staying at the Whale Coast Hotel. We were above a shopping centre where you could get anything you needed. Coffee shops and restaurants are all within walking distance, very convenient. The apartment was big enough for our family of 4. Very comfortable beds and clean bathrooms. Loved that it was serviced daily. Overall, a great stay!

The constant door banging from other guests was a little bit annoying. Silent door locks would be a great investment.

The location, walking distance to the shops and restaurants. The apartment was clean and I love that they came to clean everyday. Loved the views from the TV room, absolutely stunning.

The only negative is that the utensils were not good quality and again we are a family of four , we didn’t have enough cutlery for all of us. The glassware also needs an update.

We had to get used to the fact that the apartments are above a shopping mall which meant that walking around after shop hours was a bit eerie. But that was just us personally - the whole place is very safe and secure. You can go straight from the underground carpark into the hotel reception. The apartment is very well appointed with everything you could possibly need for an extended stay. We ate out every lunch and dinner, but could have easily cooked a full meal at each mealtime. Our apartment looked out over lowlevel apartment buildings, with a partial view of the ocean.

Fabulous location - within walking distance to everything! The rooms were lovely and clean and the housekeeping staff came around every day to clean. All the staff were super friendly and helpful. It really is our favourite place to stay in Hermanus

Very clean and well maintained. All staff exceptionally friendly and courteous. Despite town centre location, very little noise with a nice peaceful environment.
