The Potting Shed proved an excellent stay in a very convenient location. A very warm welcome from Dave and AnnaMarie set the tone for the visit. Their suggestions were spot on and valued. The Studio (6) was roomy and spotlessly clean with a lovey comfortable veranda and view to the mountain behind the town. The Potting Shed is within easy walking distance of the Cliff Walk and the old harbour. There are plenty of places to eat in the town and one or two small interesting museums. The cliff walk is a must. There is a useful suggestions folder in the room. Hope to return to The Potting Shed in whale watching season. Diolch yn fawr Dave & AnnaMarie.

Regretted that I had only booked a couple of nights.

The breakfast was exceptional the best we have had throughout our stay. The variety of homemade goods at the table was delightful. Dave & Annamarie were perfect hosts, knowledgeable & passionate about the area. They provided us with great tips on restuarants and insight on things to do in and around Hermanus. Annamarie even provided me with her recipie for her delicious lemond curd that she serves with her breakfast pancakes. The room was comfortable and we had a good night's sleep.

Nothing it was a fabulous find. We did find that on a Saturday the good restuarants were mostly fully booked so do pre book your evening meal, don't wing it like we did.

Lovely clean room with a friendly welcome from Doreen who gave us information about local restaurants and sights and provided us with some amazing home made iced tea. Hosts/owners are friendly and make an awesome breakfast. It is clear that a lot of love and hard work has gone into this accomodation with such great attention to detail. Good location, about 15 minute walk to the restaurants.

Not in the control of the owners - loadshedding - but my only suggestion would be investing in some solar panels in the future (I know not cheap!) or chargeable fans during summer time, as it did get quite hot during the night without power. Otherwise, the stay was fab!

Very nice guest house: large room with beautiful bathroom and little private garden. The hosts are very nice and during our stay they gave us great recommendations for things to do in Hermanus and in the area, including restaurants, activities and excursions. The guest house is nicely located within walking distance from the ocean front as well as Hermanus city center so it was perfect for our short weekend stay. Breakfast was also excellent, with sweet and savory options freshly prepared upon request!

Be aware that parking is a bit tight so it might be challenging if you have a large car but overall it should be more than enough even if the guest house is at full capacity

It was really comfortable and light. Everything you needed was there. The hosts were marvelous. The place was very clean, the bed was comfortable, the bathtub was amazing! I would stay there again.

It was a little bit of a walk to the beach, but not bad at all. About 10 minutes. I would not hesitate to stay there again. In fact, it was nice to be a little bit out of the action

A beautiful place to stay. Everything is crisp and clean. Extremely welcoming hosts and staff. Home made bread, cake, pancakes, jam, marmalade, cooked breakfast everyday. Great location for Cliff Path walk, shops and restaurants. Safe parking on site. Would highly recommend.

Thoughtful touches and superbly clean. The owners were very helpful in recommending restaurants etc. The breakfast was lovely, fresh fruit, cooked breakfast or pancakes with honey and lemon curd and coffee /tea. The bread and cakes were homemade as well, quite a treat. My room had a grill, microwave and sink with a great outside area for us all to bbq one evening. Recommend the drive from Betty’s bay to Capetown on the coast road

The breakfast was amazing especially with the attention to detail by the chef (David). He was very attentive to our wishes and tried his best to please in every way. Best breakfast in a long time!!! The location is a little out of the town centre so altho close enough to walk would not want to do this at night after a dinner at a restaurant. During the day this is fine if one is fit and healthy enough.

The parking at the property is a little tight especially if you have a large vehicle so can be a challenge if all the parking bays are occupied. I would advise a smaller car if you want to use the parking bays at the property. We opted to park on the street rather which was easier and seemed quite safe.

The Potting Shed Guest House is a true gem nestled in the heart of Hermanus. The property exudes charm with its well-manicured gardens, tasteful decor, and a tranquil ambiance that provides a perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of daily life. The attention to detail in the design of both the interiors and exteriors is evident, creating an inviting and relaxing atmosphere.

Owners were lovely, exceptionally friendly. Breakfast was fabulous, fresh fruits, homemade breads and perfect portion sizes. My daughter loved the homemade pancakes. The rooms were fresh and clean, our deluxe suite was gorgeous. Well equipped.

The floor needs a little attention, but the owners are planning a refurbishment over the winter, so this will be rectified.
