Room and view was beautiful. Bed is so comfortable and the rooms were nice and warm when we arrived. Breakfast was very good with yummy coffee, the free afternoon scones were a nice touch.

Some help lighting the hot tub fire would have been nice as I did mention how excited I was to use it and I didn’t realize I would struggle for 3 hours with wet wood to light it as I had not used one before. Electricity was not working for some parts of day 2 (approx 2 hours) as they had to switch off the power while installing the inverters - so couldn’t warm our lunch and make coffee, the electricians outside our room were whistling songs and singing loud for a few hours during the installation. A lot of workers walking past the room spoils the hot tub privacy somewhat.

We loved the room, location and the breakfast. View was exceptional!

We were offered a spa treatment(not complimentary but special price - 1 person per room per stay). We had to book with reception which we did. They accepted our reservation for this - the one we were prepared to pay full prize and also confirmed the times - directly after each other. About 1 hour after our departure on our daytrip we received a call from Reception saying that they made a mistake, that they cannot accomodate us at that time - when asked if we can book for another timeslot they said that they were fully booked. It was quite a disappointment for us

Always a ‘home from home’ experience. I love the authentic rustic vibe of this property. The Petite Maison restaurant is outstanding and the owner-couple of the restaurant are delightful (and very evidently distinct from the hotel management!)

The centralised management of this small chain of hotels leaves an awful lot to be desired (I’ve been staying at their properties for 4 years) so the simplicity and audit trail from Booking is absolutely imperative

The staff are friendly and helpful, service was excellent. The hotel has comfortable communal areas to enjoy with lovely gardens and beautiful views. The rooms are charming, although it seems a while since any refurbishment has been done.

You must book in advance for the hotel restaurant. We were not made aware of this until we arrived and it was already fully booked for the two nights we were there so we did not get to try it. Some of the rooms need upgrading. The room we had initially had a very musty, mouldy smell to it (although we did not see any mould). I would not like to have slept in there. We were able to be moved to another smaller room.

Everything was lovely. All the staff were super friendly. We had to book different rooms for both nights of our stay as they were fully booked, but it wasn't an issue at all as they cleaned our new room first to give us early access. Was lekker to relive our youth by playing some pool on their slate top table next to the bar. Brekkies were lovely. The boerie (sausage) was delicious. Everything was wonderful. So good, in fact, that we booked again for mid December as we were checking out. This hotel is part of a group. My wife and I will be trying them all out, but we'll done on a superb effort guys. See you soon!!!!

Checking in was easy. Room was spacious. We initially had a limited sea view room, but the hotel moved us to a better viewed room. Breakfast served timeous. Scones and tea/coffee served between 16H00 - 17H00 inclusive.

Our room did not have air conditioning as we were led to believe when booking on booking.com. Wooden window frames noisy at night but there were wedges to combat this. On site restaurant menu limited to only a few meals including a "raw meat" dish. Restaurant pricy.

We had the Garden Room which gave us a bit of privacy. The room was fine and the bathroom was (too) huge. The view from the terrace is beautiful. One can easily leave the hotel through the backdoor (between 8:00 & 19:00) and go for a very nice walk. The staff was very friendly.

Doors get only unlocked around 7 o'clock in the morning - which was a bit late for me. In fact, the one morning, I could not get out of the complex. The fridge had no deep-freeze section. The restaurant 'La Petite Maison' is good but in one week, it did not change the menue. Breakfast took too long and we were not allowed to mix the 4 set breakfast types e.g. the boerewors, tomatos & ham out and a fruit bowl instead - although the price would have been the same.

Lovely, homely hotel in a great spot with beautiful sunsets and afternoon tea. The real standout however is the restaurant, Le petite maison, which is just exceptional in every way. The food, service and ambience is just outstanding. Breakfasts were way better than regular hotels and the dinners were a highlight of our trip (remember to book!). They even created a michlin starred puree for our baby. Loretta and her husband are doing amazing things.

The rooms are homely but maybe a little run down considering this same chain owns the harbour house and a few other upmarket hotels. windows and locks could be improved.

The location, accommodation, view, distance to attractions was spot on.

The breakfast staff was unhelpful. No lamb alternatives for the breakfast. Staff were unfriendly to assist with alternate options. There is only one waiter in the breakfast area who does everything by herself thus everything was slow and delayed. We were promised afternoon tea and scones however upon arrival, just before tea time, we were told that the restaurant is closed and they cannot accommodate us for tea as the lady who runs the restaurant has left however the guests before hand were served their tea and scones.

The Breakfast was excellent! I liked the variety and presentation. The Guava Jam was homemade and a definite winner. The view magnificent and location was exactly what I wanted, easy access to the West Coast National Park. I enjoyed the room as this contained a small bar fridge, which is perfect for light drinks and cordials and an iron and ironing board, eliminating the constant request for this to be brought to the room via room service.

There was very little or no dislikes. That's just me....
