Food and service were fantastic. Really enjoyed the buffet and staff were very friendly. Rooms were very clean. Location and views were spectacular. The complimentary pony rides and climbing wall were a great treat for the kids.

The porter on the first day was very grumpy and was very slow to meet us at check in. It happened to be rainy and we were stuck waiting in the rain for her to arrive for over 20 mins. The rooms were very clean but in need of some renovation. The entertainment was poor. Rock climbing and pony rides were great and well run. Rainy day activities like table tennis tournament just did not happen. There was also supposed to be a slip and slide on the one hot day but there was nothing when we arrived and no staff to explain why. The evening "game nights" were also poor. The entertainment director lacked any personality and it really was underwhelming when compared to similar all inclusive resorts we have been lucky enough to stay at.

1. Friendly staff 2. Variety of food 3. Clean and spacious rooms 4. The view when sitting on the patio was beautiful 5. Benches along the walk for older guests 6. Lots of walks of varying levels 7. The dinner are so quick to clear tables 8. Beautiful flowers all over, even wisteria 9. Managed to get a last minute booking for the helicopter ride.

1. Signage is not very clear for some of the walks. 2. Recommend the appropriate N3off ramp - the maps brought us via winterton and it was a gravel road for what felt like forever. There's is a better route to get there ie the offramp before winterton if Travelling from kzn

I loved the old family hotel feeling. Like an old lady. Nothing generic chain hotel here The food was also great. Every night was something different. The roasts, stir fries and curries were always there. Not to mention the desserts! The staff was always willing to help, and nothing was a bother. Dial 9 and your problem is sorted

My biggest issues were in the rooms. The pillows were not comfortable. A extra big pillow would definitely be a big improvement The lighting was also a problem. The room was a bit gloomy, an extra lamp would make a big difference Lastly, the towels need an upgrade. For a beautiful hotel like this, with the guests that visit from all over the world, I have two words Bath Sheets

The location is spectacular. Nestled at about 1500m above sea level, the air is clean, fresh and crisp. The rooms were very comfy and cosy. Loved the vibe: everyday there is tea time at 11 am and 3 pm. So we'd hike / do activities all morning and then enjoy a coffee in one of the lounge areas at 3 pm with the other guests: people playing boardgames, reading, doing puzzles. All of us just watching the dramatic clouds come in for the evening storms. Just magical. Loved the daily plan for all the activities. The hikes are so accessible from the hotel. For chilly rainy days, there are loads of indoor games to play. Food was delicious for us as we eat alot of salad and fresh food but nearly no vegan protein sadly.

Only the lack of vegan protein options. I'd asked months ahead for the hotel to please provide beans, tofu, chickpeas, lentils. Every morning there was baked beans and just a small 3-bean salad for lunch. Since the hotel is about 1 hour from anywhere, it's not easy to go get supplementary supplies. So vegans, bring protein bars, nuts, protein powders waaay before getting to the hotel as there aren't any shops around.

Stunning location right in the mountains. The private honeymoon suite was outstanding. It was a separate, spacious bungalow furnished in a luxurious African style with sliding doors leading onto a private patio that faced the mountains. We could lie outside on loungers or lie in bed and look onto the uninterrupted view of the mountains. The room had a private bathroom with bath and shower, a dressing room, desk, lounge area, fridge and coffee/tea facilities. All were spotlessly clean and of a very high standard. The staff were exceptionally warm and welcoming and the food! The food was so delicious. There wasn’t a single meal I didn’t like, and they made all our favourite desserts! We had a lovely Swedish massage at the Wellness Centre which left us feeling very relaxed.

The steam room was a little daggy and unwelcoming, so we decided not to use it. The pool table in Harry’s bar was broken. Then some very minor issues: the hot and cold were switched around on the taps. The hairdryer was a bit small and underpowered.

Check in was very easy and staff very helpful with the baggage. All meals were excellent with plenty of choice and more than enough food. Staff were all very friendly. We participated in one complementary guided walk and the guide was excellent. The scenery surrounding the hotel is excellent.

Unfortunately our room did not have any view. We therefore made use of the hotel balcony. There were many families at the hotel with small children. It was a pity that one or two of the parents did not keep some of their children under more control during the evening meal.

The buffet selection was outstanding. We had a vegetarian in our party and there was always more than enough for her to choose from other than the standard vegetables. The menu was varied, staff very friendly and super attentive. Drinks delivered from the bar to the table came quickly. Free drinking water available at the buffet for self service. Our rooms were well situated near the main hotel (dining, lounge & bar) but did not hear any noise from the main hotel at all. The rooms were spacious, beds very comfortable and bathroom accessories available.

There wasn't really anything substantive, the only suggestion i would make, would be to move the bar fridge down and the coffee/tea station up to either a counter or where the bar fridge is now.

Great location for hikers and exploring the mountains. We had the honeymoon room that is beautiful and with nice views. Food in general is ok, good selection of disges. Quality if the stakes can be improved. The massage was super good!

The hotel appearance can to be improved. The pool area doesn't look appealing. The structure in general can be repainted to look more neat, however this doesn't impact the stay. Far from everything.

The meals were incredible with an amazing variety of foods, the booking included dinner, breakfast and lunch. All of these meals were first class. There is also a morning and afternoon tea on the terrace with delicous pastries. One can sit on the terrace, enjoy a cup of tea and scones and enjoy the scenery. The hotel is surrounded by mountains and the view is breathtaking.

I did ask for seperate beds and my husband and I are elderly and enjoy our own space. However the bed we were given was huge and landed up not being an issue.
