A fantastic hotel, the gardens are amazing, it is very peaceful the pool is great the views lovely. The honesty bar is a good touch and very reasonable. As this is a small hotel, it never feels busy. The whole setup had a quirky boho thai/bali feel. The location is a 15 min walk from the main square. Yes, it's up a hill, which was tough during the heatwave, but it's good to be away from the crowds. There is a little shop about 10 mins away, which is handy as you can only get crisps from the honesty bar. Breakfast was yummy, and you got such a warm welcome from the owners and staff when you walk in every morning. Choice of eggs however you want them, fresh fruit, cereals, cakes, pancakes etc etc We went for one of the larger rooms and were pleased. We would return as we loved the peace and quiet.

Nothing it's an amazing hotel. Tip - there are mossies which are out of the owners control so ensure you put on some repellant. We did and enjoyed the pool daily.

We've just had a fantastic 10 night stay at this amazing tranquil hotel, an oasis on the outskirts of Altea, set in beautiful gardens. The hosts and staff were amazing, they couldn't do enough for us and the breakfast choices were just perfect, even offering homemade cakes!! There was a well stocked honesty bar available for use whenever you wanted, which is a great idea. An absolutely wonderful place to unwind and completely relax, we had a downstairs room with an amazing jacuzzi bath. There are plenty of places to relax around the pool and gardens, with plenty of shade when required. The hotel is about a 30 minute stroll from the centre of the beautiful old town of Altea, which is a fabulous and vibrant traditional Spanish town with a fantastic choice of restaurants and shops. The walk to town, and the town itself are quite hilly and would recommend a car for a long stay or if not very mobile The weather was very hot and we did get some mosquito bites but you should be fine if you're prepared, and the hotel do everything they can to minimise them around the hotel and gardens

Absolutely nothing

Easily one of the best places we’ve stayed in Spain. Amazing room, garden/pool area and had a lovely night at the bar area. Host was brilliant from the initial welcome to the amazing breakfast the next morning. At first it feels as though you’re far away from everything, then you realise it’s a 10 minute walk to everything. Just wonderful in every way with particular thanks to our host

The whole vibe was amazing. The staff were so lovely and friendly and extremely welcoming! The room was very clean and trendy. The grounds were kept to an excellent standard and was very tranquil. The location was very centrally located with a short 2 min drive from the old town. I would highly recommend staying here! We will be back!

The gardens are beautiful but mean there are quite a lot of mosquitos. So if you tend to get bitten take plenty of repellant.

Decor and facilities were beautiful. Fabulous breakfast with the best pancakes I’ve ever tasted. Steven and Martin were excellent hosts providing help and info when needed but also allowing guests their privacy and space.

Can not fault Altea Paradise 1917

Loved this place. Serene gardens and gorgeous pool and the wonderful staff working here make it a lovely place to have a break away. Walking distance from old town Altea.

Relaxing environment.

Although walkable to the town, the hilly location makes for a strenuous walk back. Taxis are readily available.

Staff were very helpful and friendly. The pool and gardens were lovely and it felt you were in an oasis of calm. If you want something a bit different then this hotel is for you.
