The location is absolutely perfect and the setting of the hotel is stunning! Grounds are beautiful and immaculately kept.

The two reasons I didn’t give a 10 out of 10 were: 1: the Staff, they were definitely not the friendliest and most welcoming I’ve come across. There were a couple that were the exception but generally we found them a little grumpy and getting things in the dining room at breakfast , frankly, was a little too much effort for some of them. 2: The lift closing time was a bit early. Not sure why it needed to close at 8pm. We had a member of our family who struggles with walking so we did have to rush back from a meal on the beach so that he could get the lift.

Exceptional level of cleanliness throughout the Parador. Large, comfortable, quiet room with a good sized balcony Very friendly staff.

The dining room is pleasant. Unfortunately the dinner menu choice is small and does not update very often. After a couple of days we felt we needed to eat elsewhere rather than opting for the same dishes every night. They do have "Specials" most nights but you have to ask the head waiter what's on and he may, or may not, be able to tell you. It would help if "The specials" were printed and clipped to the standard menu so they could be considered at ease, rather than having to suddenly choose when the head waiter is hovering to take the order.

Very helpful staff. Excellent breakfast. Spotlessly clean and well maintained. Good location. Wi-Fi works well and the rooms are quiet at night.

Nothing really. One morning the young man on the towel room told my wife off for doing something others seemed to be doing. ie. After breakfast we put our beach towels on two sun beds and nipped upstairs to do our brief ablutions. He didn’t seem to like that. Before breakfast we regularly watched others trek down and ‘reserve’ their sun beds without apparent censure. We wondered whether it was because we put our towels rather than the hotels towels on the sun beds. Confusing!

Amazing location and spacious grounds overlooking the sea and large beach. Some previous comments suggested the food wasn't great but breakfast was excellent and lunch was very good. We didn't eat dinner at the hotel. So, in Nerja, from what we could see, there was a choice between the two 'best' hotels - Parador and Balcon de Europa. We made the right choice. Why ? Because Balcon is right in the heart of town. Great you might think, I can walk everywhere in 2 minutes. Sure, but outside the hotel, it was swarming with people and this was October in term time. From Parador, nowhere we wanted to go (shops or restaurants etc) was more than a 10 minute walk. In addition, we thought we'd try the Balcon for a drink to compare. First night, we left after 15 minutes having been ignored and second night, the service was brusque and extremely slow. Finally, lovely rooms at Balcon I'm sure but the public promontory next to the hotel means everyone can look straight into your room and tiny pool area. Parador was in its own grounds with loads of space between sun loungers and perfectly placed for short walks to fab restaurants.

The staff were 'fine' but not top notch. Whilst there, we learned that the hotel is state owned so maybe that explains why they weren't what I'd describe as 5 star. Rooms were spacious and clean but maybe a little tired. Restaurant and bar were slightly lacking in atmosphere but we went out every night so it didn't matter to us. The flies - but then that's hardly the hotel's fault !

This is simply the best hotel in Nerja A Perfect location close to both the Center and the Beach (access by Hotel residents lift) perched on top of a Cliff top overlooking Burriana Beach. This hotel is Immaculate, the staff are friendly and approachable, and the rooms are more than inadequate. Nice touch with the Chromecast on the TV to allow you to stream from your mobile devices. Minibar well stocked. For me the highlight is the garden where you would do most of your sunbathing this absolutely perfect quiet and relaxing with gentle breeze because of the height of the hotel over the sea add to that a cool refreshing well maintained pool

The grounds of the hotel are lovely. Lots of space, plenty of sun loungers and the view is really beautiful. The lift down to the beach is very handy. The rooms are very comfortable but, probably a bit dated. The staff are nice and polite, but not particularly proactive. The guest profile is typically 60+ couples. It is a very quiet hotel and even when full it feels very calm. If you want a quiet relaxing base from which to explore Nerja, then it's great. However, I think it is overpriced.

It's overpriced and lacks atmosphere, but it's great if you just want calm and quiet.

The location of the Parador is superb. We had a superior room with a large balcony and an excellent sea view. The largest beach in Nerja is directly reached by a lift for hotel guests only. Once you exit the lift, there is a stair lift but, as far as I could see, there are still a few stairs to manage. The grounds of the hotel are extensive and provide sea views. The gardens have plenty of sun beds and free towels are provided. The grounds and the swimming pool are beautifully maintained. Our room was a good size and well equipped with a kettle, flat screen TV, Bluetooth connected sound system etc. The bed was huge, a bit too firm for us, but they immediately added a mattress topper as soon as we mentioned it, and we were very comfortable for the rest of our week. There was no door between our bathroom sinks and the bedroom, though there was a sliding door between the sink area and the toilet/walk in shower room. I prefer more separation and we came back once to our room to find an unpleasant odour, caused apparently by the wind. They sorted that, and the cleaning staff did a good job, but we still got some drain smells from the shower, which we resolved by putting a cloth over the drain at night. The breakfasts were superb. Full marks for the range and choice of items. We ate dinner once in the restaurant, and ate various tapas inside and on the terrace. All were good. Pricey compared with tapas and meals from local restaurants, but good quality and convenient. The staff are great. From a very nice welcome and right through our week, staff went out of their way to be friendly and helpful. We have stayed in several paradores and the staff at Nerja are the best. Furthermore they keep the hotel superbly clean. Top marks to them. It was a pleasure chatting with them. They also helped me with a medical issue. Thank you. We would recommend the hotel and would like to return.

It was so beautifully located, room on the third floor was heaven with the spacious balcony and wonderful sea view. We had a very tasty, very delightful dinners in the Restaurant, the staff were very professional . I will definitely be back to the Parador de Nerja later this year...its superb. They had lovely little nibles in our room every other day,,the smell of fresh linen when you return to your room after a day of shopping or touring is psychologically well being enhancing.

I can't find fault to anything.

Great location, 10 mins walk to Balcon de Europa, great views (try to book a room with a sea view or south facing for sun) the grounds are very well kept and there is a private lift to and from the beach. Some staff were excellent but some were only passable. Very few spoke English so try to learn some Spanish phrases, it will be appreciated.

The rooms are spacious but old and a bit tired. The option to cast to the tv was variable - worked once in the 3 nights we were there. As we were there in January and it got quite cold at night this was an option we really wanted to avail of.

The location is fabulous ...what a beautiful view. Room was spotless and very large with a super comfy bed. The staff were absolutely lovely, from check in to check out and everything in between. Breakfast was excellent...relaxing and fresh hot coffee brought to the table Gardens really well maintained Easy parking There is a lovely laid back chill feeling but with a high level of service

The interior decor, especially dining room and could do with some freshening up, although the outside dining area is nice. Bathroom was pretty dated but very clean and functional
