Location was excellent within 200 metres of Funicular to Bulnes and start of Ruta del Cares. Very scenic views from hotel of mountains and of the river. Hotel was clean and comfortable. It was basic but very good value for the price we paid.

Breakfast was very limited. Coffee, bread, tomato homemade sauce, cheese, croissants, pain au chocolat, orange juice. Ww did have an evening meal in the restaurant there and was dissapointed with my portion size (I had stewed meat). My wife had the house salad and she was very happy with it though. Other than the hotel there is only one other hotel next to it and you need to drive to either Arenas or Sotres to have a restaurant.

Beautiful hotel in the most perfect, scenic location for the start of the Ruta del Cares. Staff were friendly and helpful ahead of our stay and during our stay and it was just what we needed to get stationned at the start of the walk and have dinner and drinks aplenty at the end before a good nights' sleep. The hiking route is extremely busy so hikers not staying at the hotel.were not allowed to drive into the area but had to park a few km down the road to add to their hike. It was wonderful to.wake up to the breathtaking views in the morning and enjoy a nice stress-free continental breakfast before moving on. There us also a nice small gift shop in the hotel.

There was nothing more that we needed. The car park wasn't big enough, but by the time we arrived in late afternoon for check-in, there were enough spaces just outside along the road.

perfect location for hiking the ruta del cares (there are other two hikes that start near the hotel). the bed was comfortable. everything was very clean. we had a nice view from the room. decent wifi. the shower had a good pressure and hot water. everything is very simple and old bur great value for money. breakfast was plentiful, but mostly bread. you will get toast, cheese and pastries (2 pieces per person of each), coffee / tea, orange juice and some packed sweet breads. restaurant is good.

more storage space, glasses and hair dryer in the room would have been nice. some very run down buts and pieces. staff speak no english. the private parking is just for like 6 cars. dinner service at the restaurant starts very late, at 20:00.

The most incredible host I've met so far, Manolo, was on top of everything. If nothing else, I would recommend this place simply because of his charm. Beautiful location, right next to amazing hikes and spectacular roads. Old but simple, clean and tidy rooms. Towels were changed daily, which is a good thing, considering that likely due to the humidity it took days for clothes to dry out. The place even had a working WIFI available.

Breakfast, while conveniently included in the price of the room, could've been more diverse. Apart from orange juice, hot drinks and a few slices of cheese - there was nothing but bread. The humidity is quite high in this place, so even washing a thermo shirt to have it dry overnight in the room is not really an option - I had to wait two whole days before I could use it again. Hot water pressure was all over the place when taking a shower - you have to DJ the shower valve like a turntable throughout the whole time.

We stayed here for two nights so that we could do the Ruta del Cares hike. The family who run this hotel are lovely. They made us feel very welcome. The rooms are fairly basic but they are very comfortable and clean. The bar restaurant is just downstairs and serves good meals which are also great value.. This hotel is in a perfect location for the hike being just a few minutes walk from the start so you don't have to worry about being able to park close to the walk. When you finish and you are exhausted they are right there with a cold beer and food which was so welcome and much better than having to get in a car and drive somewhere to your accommodation. If we came back to the area we would definitely stay here again. Thank you for a lovely stay.

Wonderful, friendly host who was available at anytime, serving both at the front desk and in the restaurant. The restaurant was a relaxed and friendly place to eat, with a selection of traditional Spanish dishes. The location is fantastic, right beside the Cares Gorge and the funicular that takes you to Bulnes. The hotel is perfect for those wanting to walk in the mountains.

Nobody spoke that much English, but with Google translate and other translation apps this is not really a problem these days. It wouldn't hurt if we learnt a bit of Spanish too! A few hooks on the bathroom walls/door to hang up clothes and towels would be nice, but we noticed hardly any hooks in any of the hotels we stayed in around here... not sure why!

Amazing location ans view!! So close to the trail head for the main hike :) we had free parking in the street and had wifi! Only worked for half our trip but to have any service at all in the mountains was an unexpected treat. Staff are so friendly and helpful. Also a very cute gift shop in the hotel thats very affordable for last minute hiking gear or souveneirs.

Unfortunately the breakfast was not great. Every morning we got orange juice, coffee, tea, a basket of packaged pastries, fresh toast, and fresh croissants. As other people have said, a protein or fresh fruit would be nice. Luckily we had lots of hiking snacks so if you bring some extra food youll be all set!

The location was superb, just below the start of the outstanding Ruta de Carres, in a winding valley with towering cliffs of limestone and the river rushing below. Ideal for exploring this amazing area. Room was simple and comfortable, a spacious hotel lounge with a restaurant, bar and outdoor activities shop. The star however was Manolo, the effervescent, warm and generous host for whom nothing was too much trouble.

Nothing - beware GPS however. Several mountain roads it suggested we’re actually impassable mountain tracks.

The location and option for hotel parking was fantastic for the popular hikes. The staff were helpful when other guests were loud and impacting on our sleep. Good breakfast.

There wasn’t a lot of space for 3 people in the triple room but we made it work. No fridge in the room but the bar staff kept our food in their fridge.

Amazing location- couldn't possibly be closer to the hike trail! Great staff. When the kitchen was closed I asked for anything to eat and the lady prepared some food for me still. The staff makes the place even more atmospheric. I've asked when I need to check out and Monolo was relaxed and let me take another short hike before checking out.

The walls are very thin, I would highly recommend getting some earplugs with you.
