We really enjoyed our stay at Milano Grand, it was a pleasure from the beginning to the end. The room was clean, comfortable and very presentable. There is AC, a large bathroom, a functioning shower, different options of lighting and more. Breakfast is great! love the fresh watermelon juice, definitely a highlight. The staff and manager were super helpful with giving us tips and guidance during our stay. Dambulla can be a hard place to navigate in regards to transport and tourist attractions, but the manager made sure we got the right information and was very helpful, even helped arrange the bus to our next city. Highly recommend anyone who wants to have an enjoyable and relaxing stay to come to Milano Grand.

We were warmly welcomed by the owner, Lucky, with a refreshing glass of papaya juice upon arrival, setting the tone for a wonderful stay. During our visit, Lucky was always just a WhatsApp message away, providing prompt assistance whenever we needed help. When we struggled to figure out how to use the hot water, needed a hairdryer, or realized we didn’t have the right power adapter, Lucky immediately resolved all these issues with a smile. He also went the extra mile by giving us detailed instructions on how to visit Sigiriya (Lion Rock) and thoughtfully reminded us to set off early the next day to avoid long holiday queues. We even got packed Breakfast for our early trip in the morning. The property has its own restaurant with very affordable prices, and it’s a pity we didn’t get the chance to try their food. The thoughtful hospitality and helpful guidance made our stay truly enjoyable. A big thank you to Lucky for making our time here so seamless and memorable.

The owner is putting great effort into running the hotel, and for a 1-star standard, they are doing an excellent job.

Hotel in the centre of Dambullah with plenty of  shops and restaurants just around the corner.  Our rooms looked out on the luxuriant vegetation at the back - it was very calm  day and night and delightful to see birds, cameleons and the local squirrel team playing in the mango trees  Lucky Bob is a great host, flexible and quick to solve any problems and he was really a great help to us for the organisation of our visits. He shared  advice on some less well known spots, and he recommended friendly, reliable tuk tuk and van drivers to take us there: a good team !  The rooms were good value for money, could do with a little TLC but served our purpose well. 

Cleaning, noise during night

The place was immediately close to the bus station, very easy to reach. The property has a nice hall and balcony at the first floor. Breakfast is included and was served on a plate - no buffet. The room was clean and the price absolutely fair. However, the real added value of the place was Bob, which was very kind and useful: we could write on whatsapp and he would help with anything: organize a day trip with safari and transfer to Pidurangala (at a fair price!), dinner served at the room. He even organized a tuktuk to the closest clinic when one of us was not not feeling well. And he showed us the right spot to wait the bus and waited with us. Cannot recommend enough this place and the friendly Bob!

Only thing which which could be improved, wifi was slow and disconnect pretty often.

The rooms are lovely, spacious, and include a large balcony which you can sit out on whenever you choose. The breakfast is absolutely fantastic and varied, it was the best we have had in Sri Lanka so far! The owner of the hotel is absolutely lovely and was on-hand to help us whenever we needed, which was very helpful! He even offered to let us know once our safari pickup had arrived and walked us to/ put us on the bus the morning that we left Dambwella. Thank you for your kindness and hospitality!

My four-night stay at Milano Grand in Dambulla was an absolute delight. Lucky, the friendly manager, went above and beyond, helping me with local travel tips and ensuring a seamless experience, including guiding me to the right bus for my next adventure. Upon arrival, I received a refreshing welcome drink, and the breakfast spread was delightful. The room matched the Booking.com pictures perfectly, offering immense comfort and ample space—a true sanctuary after a day of exploration. The attention to detail and genuine warmth of the staff made Milano Grand feel like a home away from home. For anyone seeking tranquility and top-notch hospitality in Dambulla, Milano Grand is an ideal choice. A heartfelt thanks to Lucky and the team for making my stay memorable.

In some areas low wifi signal but it depends on your room position.

Perfect location, friendly staff, wonderful breakfast with wonderful fruit. The manager was always there for me, I couldn't ask for anything he wouldn't do for me. Excellent hospitality, he addressed the guests by name from the first moment and remembered every word I said to him, he knew where I had spent my day and asked about it when I returned to the hotel. I spent two nights here, but for me it was more than perfect.

Everything was perfect.

Staff is very kind and care about guest. He walked with me restaurant and bus stop. Very kindly showing and teaching locals. I can say the best staff while I am staying Sri Lanka for 10 days so far. Location also easy access from the bus station. Cave temple also can visit easily. Good breakfast prepare. Everyday different Fresh fruits, fresh juice served and it was very good. Good opportunity to try various fruits. Egg and bread include.

Wifi problems. Not this hotel, just area problems due to the weather. However staff was very helping how I can get wifi.

Excellent location right by the bus station, still it's remarkably quiet. Friendly staff. Big and spotless clean room and bathroom. My room was on the 2nd floor and I had a balcony overlooking the jungly tree tops. Birds singing and monkeys occasionally jumping around. There is an outdoor garden sitting area, a semi outdoor all day restaurant and even a bar. The WiFi was exceptionally good for Sri Lanka. (WiFi in the rooms only). What more do you need? - and Dampulla is definitely worth stopping over to see.

It was nothing I didn't like.

I liked the location. The manager was very friendly and helpful. He organized a safari for me and helped me with the transport to the next destination. The breakfast was very good. The room and bathroom were clean and spacious. The A/C worked fine.

It was recommended not to open the door to the balcony because of possibility of the mosquitos entering the room.
