The location is really quiet and you are surrounded by nature including monkeys in the trees, peakcocks wandering round the beautiful garden and many dogs of course. The pool was clean and we had it to ourselves most nights. The manager and staff were exceptional. Food at restaurant was good value and nice fresh breakfast. Lovely verandah to chill out and watch the garden. Our tuk tuk did not arrive due to elephants walking around the village which meant we missed sunrise at Lion Rock but our manager woke up specially to help find another one and the security guard waited with us as it was quite dark.

As a light sleeper there was a lot of noise especially monkeys throwing coconuts on the roof so make sure to pack ear plugs. Also the booking.com description is wrong as we thought we had 2 rooms in a villa but it was a twin room. Shower was a bit temperamental.

The location was unreal! Absolutely breathtaking views of the rice fields surrounding the hotel. The scenic viewpoint was the perfect place to relax with a drink or read a book while enjoying watching the peacocks. Staying in a tree house was such a novelty and a great experience, different from your average hotel room. The breakfast was lovely, just what you needed to set you up for the day. I loved the healthy porridge you got every morning. Was definitely doing lots of good for the body. The best thing about our stay was how well we were looked after by all the staff. Everyone was so warm, welcoming and friendly- going above and beyond to help us. From arranging taxis and Tuk Tuks, opening breakfast early so we could eat before we left early, to preparing a fruit box for our sunrise hike. Never experienced warmth and kindness.

I came to the hideout because it is very close to Roy’s Villa, which was full but where I could join in with different activities. This was a perfect combination: I had a spacious room and a great breakfast for a very reasonable price, while still having the social element of the nearby hostel.

The hideout itself would’ve been less interesting for me as a solo traveler as there were mainly families there and there isn’t a culture of organizing things together. There were some minor maintenance issues in my room which didn’t bother me hugely (toilet didn’t flush well, front door got stuck, there seemed to be an ant nest behind the mirror)

Exceptional!! We stayed in the tree house which even had branches through the cabin - very cool. The view was spectacular of lion rock and the rice fields. Hot shower too. Crystal clear pool and charming grounds. At night you here all the frogs and crickets even from without the room. Service was great, they even delivered umbrellas to our room before we checked out so we wouldn’t get wet.

Claims tumble dryer in room but no washing facilities on site. They did however arrange for our laundry to be collected and delivered from a local service. Watch out for the big ants, they sting and are attracted by sugar so don’t leave open food around.

We were in a canopy treehouse which had a beautiful view over the paddy fields with Lions Rock in the distance. Room was clean and comfortable. Bathroom a good size and also clean.. Pool is excellent - clean and refreshing to swim in, and relax by the pool. The staff were very nice and looked after us well - I enjoyed them testing my food spice levels! Finally - location wise it’s about 25 mins from Sigiriya Rock and in a quiet spot. We were very happy with the location for a few quiet days. They easily organise Tuktuk for about 1000 Rupees to the rock which seemed good value by comparison to tourist prices elsewhere in Sri Lanka.

Neither of these were major issues, but flagging as feedback. Shower had good power until you tried to make it hot when it lost quite a lot of power. It wasn’t too bad - outside temperature is warm enough to be happy with Luke-warm shower. There is alcohol available, but no alcohol menu which may be helpful to have esp. when it comes to communicating what you want with the staff. Again, not a major issue.

Perfect and quiet location in Sigiriya. Great room and swimming pool area. The staff was always available to prepare food for us. It is about 10-15 minutes away from the center of Sigiriya and the last part of the road is a bit bumpy but tuktuks had no issues in bringing us. The accommodation also helped us with arranging safari tour and tuktuks. We spent there 3 nights. Really recommended.

The towels smelled a bit bad but the room and the toilet were very clean.

Lovely hotel with beautiful gardens and big clean pool. Comfortable bed, good aircon, clean room, friendly owner and staff, good value for money. We slept well here and had a comfortable & enjoyable stay.

Water pressure wasn't great and wifi didn't really work for us - if both of these things improved it would be a 10/10 for us!

We stayed in a tree house with a fantastic view over green paddy fields to Sigiriya Lion Rock and Pidurangala in the distance. There were peacocks cavorting and dancing in the fields. Sujatha and Upali are affable hosts, and the manager Ranjit is an efficient ex-Special Forces man. The staff, including Suranga and Chintayya were friendly and helpful. Food at the onsite restaurant was great! Wish we had planned for a longer stay.

The hotel staff were really friendly and helpful with arranging drivers and accommodating breakfast hours. The breakfast was delicious and a little bit different every day. It was raining one night when we got back to the hotel, and the staff ran outside to greet us at our tuk tuk and give us umbrellas so we wouldn’t get wet. The property is in a really beautiful area surrounded by nature, just a bit away from the main town, but still super easy and accessible to get into town.

The hosts and staff are super! The location is stunning with views of Sigiriya (Lion Mountain) towering over beautiful green rice paddies, loaded with birds and the occasional monkey. Choose the tree houses for great views. Sue, the wonderful owner, is most helpful in arranging tours. Lovely pool.

Nothing significant. WIsh our room was a little bigger, but still absolutely loved it.
