The host was extremly friendly and helpful. Apartment was amazingly clean and cozy, also the room is huge. The garden was maybe the best part, very nicely groomed and full of birds and peacooks whose singing is the best alarm clock ever. Breakfast and dinner were yummy and the host also makes great cocktails. By far the best place we have stayed in in sri lanka. Highly recommed! :)

Super clean & spacy room, modern style, all functional, hot watter, great view from the balcony, very silent area during our stay(however we were the only guest there), restaurant is bit overpriced compared to the surrounding ones so we had only included breakfest that was fine

This was one of our favorite homestays in Sri Lanka. We booked last minute after a different local hotel cancelled the night before and we're so glad we ended up staying here. There seemed to be 4 rooms, each with a gorgeous view of the lake with large private balconies that had comfy chairs for relaxing in. The rooms were absolutely huge and pristine and had massive comfy beds and plenty of space for hanging clothes. We really appreciated having the fridge, and though there are only small local shops near by the manager sold us bottles of beer from the restaurant that we stored in the fridge and had on the balcony in the evening. Bliss! We also liked the spacious bathroom. The buildings are located in the most lush gardens which are very well maintained by a very smiley, friendly man. The Gardens are also hosts to a beautiful family of grey faced langurs (the nice kind of monkey), chipmunks and so many species of bird it was hard to keep count. A favorite activity was bird watching from the balcony in the early morning. Breakfast was in a raised platform that overlooked the lake and gardens and was so tranquil. We really enjoyed the fresh juice and fruit platters. The location of the accommodation is just a 5 minute walk from the beaches and the manager shared his whatsapp details and was helpful with booking tuktuks and turtle tours. There were peddle bikes available free to use and also kayaks for the lake. We had hired a tuktuk and this area was perfect for learning how to drive it, with long very quiet roads. On the odd occasion we couldn't start the tuktuk the manager was very helpful and supportive and got it started for us without us really having to ask. We didn't catch his name, but the manager was a gem and so very helpful. We only wish we could have stayed here longer! The local village is very quiet and peaceful, so this is the perfect location to really chill and enjoy nature and the slow pace of local life.

It's not necessarily a dislike, but the Sri Lankan breakfast here was just hoppers and rotis with chilli sauce. Some Dahl or eggs or butter and jam to go them would have just made the breakfast little less dry. The juice, fruit and tea were fantastic however and we liked the English breakfast a lot!

Friendly and helpful guy working there. Really beautiful and quiet place, lovely peacocks in the garden. Super views.

Just a small minus is that the bathroom window doesn’t have anything to cover it with while you want to have a shower when it’s dark outside.

The setting was excellent, very peaceful. And only a tuktuk ride to a busy town and beach. The staff couldn't have been more helpful.

Very quiet and nice place to spend a few days. Big rooms, good showers, direct access to the lagoon and a kayak to use, a couple of bicycles. Lakshita is always helpful and nice.

A very well-kept facility, located in a quiet location, with access to the lagoon. We swam in a kayak belonging to the facility and had the opportunity to observe many species of birds, including eagles. Moreover, while sitting for breakfast, you can admire several species of colorful birds flying between the trees. Fantastic! Extremely spacious and clean room. Food also very good. Extremely nice and helpful gentleman. He arranged for us to pick up a tuk tuk at the hotel. We recommend this place!

We had a great time at Ashansa. The room is very spacious and the bed comfortable. The views are amazing, and the surrounding is very peacefull. The breakfast was incredible. What made our stay even more perfect is the service from Lakshitha. He really understands the concept of hospitality.

No drinking and/or filtered water on premise. You need to get your drinking water elsewhere, which felt a bit weird for a basic necessity.

This resort is a secret and one of our favorites during our Sri Lanka Travel. It is directly at a lagoon. The beach and the turtle watch are only 3 minutes away from the resort. The view from the rooms over the lagoon is unique. Also if you eat breakfast you can observe many colorful birds and listen to their singing. Moreover, the resort offers do canoeing on the lagoon. The rooms are huge and clean with fan, AC and warm water. The two brothers and their staff are very friendly and helpful. They opened their seafood restaurant 2 weeks ago. The food is very delicious. In total, we very enjoyed the stay. Unfortunately, we only stayed 3 nights in this oasis. If you are looking for a quite, relaxing place to slow down surrounded by nature, you should definitely go there.
