Check in was easy. Staff is professional, efficient, and helpful. 24 hour coffee machine was great. Parking was secure and there is a nice area behind the hotel for walking. Appreciated being able to have the dog. Even though the property is on the highway it is configured, so rooms are quiet and private. The window screens are also fabulous. The ac wasn't working in the room, but we were promptly moved to a room w working ac. Breakfast was ample and well-maintained. Would definitely stay again.

Didn't find aircon remote, and looking at the aircon unit it hasn't worked in 5 years which meant I had to open the window in the middle of the night.... zero sleep due to motorway noise.( expected motorway noise with window open at a hotel next to the motorway which is why I booked a room with a/c )

Quiet room, clean & good breakfast.

A bit walking distances from nearest bus stop as I always use public transport during my stay in Bern ( SWiss). The road/Farm field is a bit dark at night. If they put more Road lights, it would be safer to walk to the hotel from bus stops in the evening.

There are several free snacks and drinks in the lobby for the guest.

Rather pricey (especially if you compare it to the French hotels next to the highway). Not specifically about the hotel, but the only restaurant is at the service station. However this appeared to be closed for general public as it was used to several busses of Chinese tourist.

I recently stayed at Hotel A1 Grauholz and had a great time. It's right off the highway, so you'll need a car to get there, but it's close to the city and really quiet. There's a 24-hour shop nearby. It's perfect for short trips. The staff were really nice too. Overall, I'd recommend Hotel A1 Grauholz for anyone looking for a comfy and affordable place to stay.

Clean , modern and well maintained

How to check in. They say you can speak to reception but no one answer your call. I understand that technology is the way forward but not everyone is capable of checking in on one’s mobile. We managed to check in but I cannot understand why we had to check in after 3 pm in the day of arrival. I suggest, that one can check in at least a day before but they tell you not to go to the hotel before 3pm.

It was difficult to find the hotel.

The staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good with ample choice. Location is slightly out of the way for sight seeing in Bern but we knew that when we booked. Local transport to Bern very good and easy to access. Our only negative point is that there was no tea, coffee making facilities in the room. In many years of travel this was our first experience of no such facilities. Disappointing.

We arrived at the hotel around 9 pm and the service we received by the receptionist was exceptional. We found as a surprise that they offered a free small buffet with juice, cakes, and other snacks, and we could hang out in the big lobby with tables and chairs to eat the snacks. The layout of the hotel overall is really creative and we really liked it.

Very good location on the motorway (restaurant, convenience store, coffee shop, petrol station all around the area-closeby. Private parking, uncomplicated service, friendly staff, coffee/tea and sweets for in between makes one’s stay much more agreeable. Easy access to rooms, elevator, ramps, great breakfast variety. Clean snd spacious room!
