I liked the location a lot. The lake was directly accessible and the city centre easily accessible via tram. The tram station is a 3 min footwalk. Everything was fine regarding clean facilities and service.

Buildings to operate, such as sleeping rooms and breakfast restaurant buildings, are not connected. So when coming with kids, you must dress them weather appropriate just to get to breakfast. Spa wasn't really a spa.

The location was great, nice to be by the water and away from the centre of Lausanne. However, the metro was around the corner from the hotel and was very easy to use. The hotel provided a free metro card for our stay. The pool was lovely. The room was spacious and from the outside a very beautiful hotel. There are plenty of eateries nearby. There is off-road parking if needed.

No hotel lounge or bar to relax in. There were two sofas in reception but very open and not suitable plus no drinks were available there. The lift broke while we were there. The bathroom sliding door was temperamental, it really needs to be replaced. The rooms could have been a bit nicer given how beautiful the hotel is. I think they need a refurb.

Incredible lakefront location, close proximity to restaurants and activities, delicious breakfast food (but very expensive breakfast). Huge room size, huge bathroom, all very spacious and clean, and great housekeeping service each day. They thought of everything in the rooms, even room-darkening blackout shades and very comfortable beds and air conditioning.

The breakfast was confusing - many of my friends had it included in their room booking for free, but I did not, so had to pay 40 Francs for a breakfast buffet (crazy!). If you're going to have an included breakfast, it should either be complimentary for everyone who books, or paid for everyone, no confusing split policies.

Our rooms were spacious and quiet with good quality beds and aircon so we slept well. The hotel is perfectly situated opposite the lake and very close to the metro exit. Breakfast was delicious with a good selection. Having the swimming pool was a delight in the hot weather. We didn't use the spa or facilities in the sister hotel across the road but for some that might be a nice option. All in all it was a lovely stay.

We had made a couple of special requests ahead of time which were agreed by the hotel. One of these was met after we chased them up several times, but sadly the other was not met at all. In addition, during our stay the teas we consumed were not replaced and it would have been nice to have some herbal options provided. Again this was requested but never materialised. We were surprised and somewhat disappointed by these things given this is a 4 star hotel where we anticipated an extra level of attention to detail.

The staff were helpful and pleasant. The room had a side view of the lake and a view of the pool. The location is excellent only a 1-2 minute walk to the lake side. Secure on site car park.

The room was not what i would expect for a 4 star hotel. I think the grading is because of the hotel's location in relation to the lake. The restaurant was a bit on the expensive side so ensure you have deep pockets if eating there.

The location by the shore of Lake Geneva is outstanding and the room was very comfortable.

The stepped ramp from the front of the hotel to reception isn’t ideal. Reception is in a separate building and you have to manage a set of steps to enter the hotel before you can use the lift. These points were ok for us but could be problematic for people with access needs.

Apparently where Lord Byron wrote 'The Prisoner of Chillon'! Friendly and helpful reception staff; excellent lake view from the third floor; 20% off drinks at the bar in Château d'Ouchy; decent Italian restaurant within the hotel building; large bed sensibly covered by two single duvets; separate bathtub and shower enclosure; mouthwatering breakfast (don't forget to request for the omelette!); interesting artwork in the room and throughout the hotel. Special mention to Laura and Eugenie, our masseuses.

The room got too hot at night - opening the windows and turning the heating off wasn't enough to cool it down. A fan could have been very useful.

Hotel Angleterre is top quality and beautifully modern with lots of style within old building, at a perfect location on the shore of the Geneva lake. It is really high-standing, offering quietness and an interior garden, with an outside pool, all really comfortable. Staff was really very welcoming and helpful.

The location is amazing: right on the lake, I had amazing view from my windows, the metro is 3 minutes walk away. The room was very spacious, the bed was comfortable and I loved the linens. The bathroom had a shower and a tub, a huge win for me. The isolating windows make the room very quite. There are two sets of blinds to choose from. The staff was really friendly and helpful. Amazing hotel, very recommended.

Beautiful hotel. We had a lake view room with a balcony which had a fantastic view. Room was excellent, very comfortable bed, spacious bathroom with powerful shower. Room had air conditioning so was cool as it was 30 degrees. The terrace restaurant was very good both to drop in for coffee during the day and for dinner in the evenings. Underground garage parking on site which we pre-booked to make sure.
